I liked this ship so much more than the noisy ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm. It looks like it has quiet lounges for passengers to sit, read, chat with other travelers or post on Facebook. Thank you for this fine video.
I agree with you Sam, and lovely views 🥰
Those ships actually have nice lounges too, it's all the way in the front of the ship, behind the stages in Starlight. It is quite small for the ship's size though.
Last time I was on Stavangerfjord, the waves were crazy and water splashed on the windows in the front. I was at the top. I looked out of the window and the waterline went up and down. The ship was pitching like crazy. It was fun.
Oh wow 🤢
I often use Fjordline from Bergen and all the way to Langesund and then drive to Oslo, more relaxing than to drive over the mountain. Takes a day longer, but I don't care. I love sailing around our fjords. I have been doing so much ferry, passenger boats and fast ferries around Norway now, so I have to list the few I haven't tried yet 😍
Couldn't agree more!
I believe you can have duty free shopping anywhere in the route you are outside the 12 mile zone and thus in international waters... That why those shops are not open at departure 😃
I don't think we ever went 12 miles from the coast 😂
Norway is not within the EU customs union, only within Schengen, therefore there is a Tax Free store.
Norway is such a beautiful country. In 2018, my wife and I took a cruise from Southampton to Norway, calling at Stavanger, Olden, Flam and Bergen. From Stavanger, we took a mini-cruise up the Lysefjiord. We sailed past Pulpit Rock (a famous tourist attraction) that was used as a location for the film Mission Impossible: Fallout with Tom Cruise (filmed a month after our holiday, I believe).
Wow I bet that was amazing 🤩
Norway is really a stunning place to visit for a holiday. The further north you go along the coast the more impressive it becomes, the Lofoten islands especially.
Thanks for the suggestions 😊
Now that looks like a cool way to get around......love it.
Definitely worth it ☺️
Excellent video!
Great video! Stunning and nice to change things up with a cruise.
Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing another great video. Loved it very much once again.👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! Cheers! 🙂
Interestingly Fjord Line have just announced that they are going to be converting Stavangerfjord and Bergenfjord away from being exclusively LNG and instead combined LNG and Marine Oil. While greener, the price of LNG is too expensive and they are now losing money. The conversion process will take 4 months per ferry, starting in January and effectively the route is going to be closed down for the first 4 months of 2023 to accommodate this, and not back up to full capacity till June.
Interesting, thanks for the information ℹ️🙏🏻
looked lovely
Great trip report
Enjoyed this video! Hoping to do this trip later this year myself.
Have fun!
Norway is not part of the EU customs-union, therefore it's possible to sell tax-free on board the ferries to and from Norway.
Ah, but just not between Norwegian stops 🙏🏻
@@NonstopEurotrip correct
It’s a wonderful and very useful video guide for travelers
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing trip report and loved watching it. And that’s true, if you get an amazing views from deck why upgrade your seat and prices were really reasonable tbh. Moreover, those view were really magnificent and good to see ships are becoming more green.
Yeah but it was nice to have somewhere to leave my bags... How's Canada mate?
Lovely ship. Still have a Merry Christmas and New Year. Keep up the good work 😊
Same to you Andrew ☺️
Super cool 😃
It was interesting seeing you taking a break from train travelling and choosing to do a cruise review.
I believe you should try it again!
It was a nice choice since Norway is really beautiful!
Another thing that i really liked is the inclusion of the prices in the various items and products aboard.
It's useful information and i think you have to do that with the train 🚂 reviews too!!
Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
Well, as there is no train line from Bergen to Stavanger (except via Oslo), it's either this ferry or the bus (and the bus will go on two shorter ferry rides).
Quite the commuter I'd say. My paternal great-grandparents from Hurdal parish, Akershus fylke (county), Norway. Always enjoy the scenery from there.
Thanks for sharing Melvin 😚
Hi, I'm a time traveller and I returned from Tuesday, December 27th to Christmas' Eve's afternoon to comment on this last Tuesday-uploaded video of the year and the penultimate of 2022
Hello time traveller Pedro! 👋🏻
Happy New Year Norwegia......
I'm adding this trip to my list of things to do in Norway. Would love to see a train review of the Oslo -Myrdal to Flam ride. Have done it virtually with Rail Cow Girl. Awesome scenic ride. Loe your site.
'
It's on my to-do list Rick, and thanks for becoming a channel member today! 😃
Nice video.
It is also a boat route from Oslo to Kiel (northern Germany) on the worlds biggest cruise ship with car deck. I would recommend it :)
Sounds great!
Small correction. It‘s the biggest ferry, not the biggest cruise ship.
Feliz ano novo ai lindo navio gostei cruzeiro 🚢 impressionante pelo fiordes noruegueses
Feliz ano novo 🤩
Danke!
Danke Eva 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
If you are looking for unique ferry crossings; consider some RoRo-ferries also taking foot passengers. Dining with the truck drivers. For example Travemünde - Liepāja. High on my personal list is Ghent (Belgium) - Göteborg (Sweden), along the Dutch and Danish coast, and including trip in an inland canal.
Thanks for the suggestions!! 👌🏻
Happy New Year
Same to you 🎇
This route is from Bergen - Stavanger - Hirtshals - Langesund - Hirtshals - Stavanger - Bergen. A 48 hour cruise for those who want it. And the map you showed of the sailingroute in the beginning was wrong.
All mentioned in the video.
Happy Christmas day stay Healthy and celebration Beautiful Happy Holiday
Same to you 🙂
A smart looking ship, it looks better than most of nowadays cruisers. Maybe you should check some Mediterranean ferries (GNV, Grimaldi or Corsica/Sardinia Ferries, or Greek, Tunisian and Spanish lines).
I will soon 🙂
Nice video! Slight correction though, the arrival port in Stavanger is actually called Risavika Port which is the main cargo harbour. There are several large-ish ports around Stavanger. The large cruise ships (like MS Iona for example) go straight to Vågen, the city center. :)
Blame Fjordline 🚢🇳🇴🤣
@@NonstopEurotrip oh really hahaha thats pretty weird. Its in the same city per norwegian definitions but Risavika is not even in Stavanger municipality
Gracias por la navegación. 🇺🇾
Gracias por ver 🙂
(bounces happily, if a little unsteadily - because, well, waves.)
Bergen is the Norwegian Baking capital - so many good cakes and breads there.
I'll have to sample them next time 🙂
This boat is not ending its route in Hirtshals. It gore's Bergen - Stavanger - Hirtshals (Denmark) - Langesund (Norway) and them back agein
Thanks for the information ☺️ℹ️
I enjoy all of your various videos, I am deaf, so enjoy the onscreen descriptions, you ask for suggestion’s…… what about a European river cruise for disabled passenger’s, I am disabled!
Thank you.😀
Thanks Don, glad you enjoyed this 😊
Wishing you Very Happy New Year…… and Happy Travel’s 😀
> Fairly reasonable prices
No, those are Danish crowns, not Norwegian ones. 25DKK is 2,88£, but 25NOK is 1.80£.
It's about 50% more. There's a Kiwi grocery store right before you get to the terminal, you can stock up stuff you might want there. If you're going to Denmark, you can access the tax free which is a lot cheaper than the little kiosk.
Sorry, what do you mean?
@@NonstopEurotrip the prices in that kiosk are not reasonable. They may seem okayish if you think that theyre norwegian crowns but they arent.
Theyre danish crowns and thus about 50% higher.
you should do the alaskan cruise from Vancouver
Bit out of.my budget 😅
Salutări din România Prietene 🙋♂️🙋♂️🇷🇴
Thank you ☺️
Great trip. I'm curious, how long for the full trip from Bergen to Hirsthals?
Ummm, overnight I believe!
@@NonstopEurotrip Ahh I see
Love this video, would be really cool if you could start your own ferry channel
I'll try and incorporate more on here next year 👍🏻
@@NonstopEurotrip just if you want!
What time of year were you there in this video? It looks like the perfect time to enjoy this cruise.
The date of filming is always in the description 👍🏻
Could you put the time of month you travel, like early May or late July. Enjoy your videos!
The date of travel is always in the description
Amazing video 🎄Merry Christmas 👍👋 watching form god's own country 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄💚💚💚👋👍🙏
Merry Christmas 🎄
Ms Cruise olympia☠️
You should have stayed a day or so in Stavanger I know the city like the back of my hand from childhood
Next time I will 😎
Denmark cheaper! Yes, that's Norway for you :)
How much did it cost for 1 full meal onboard?
Around €20
Good vidéo, but too much short ! I was waiting for much longer. A pity !
Unfortunately longer videos just don't work on the CZcams format for retention
Why is this line any better than Hurtigruten for cruising the coast of Norway?
Is it?
@@NonstopEurotrip You answered the question with a question, i.e. you didn't answer the question.
@@joliettraveler But I never said it was?
Lovely video!
Though there is actually three routes from Norway to Denmark with FjordLine!
You have as you mentioned Bergen - Stavanger - Hirtshals and Kristiansand - Hirtshals but you also have Langesund - Hirtshals which is closer to Oslo/Drammen so we all get a taste of Fjordline :D
That route map came off the Fjordline website...
@@NonstopEurotrip yeah they have a tendency to hide it from us living on the west coast of Norway 🤣 Still! Would recommend that sailing as well. It's really pretty in Langesund 🥰
@@midget4083 thanks 🙏🏻
Norway is not really in EU, thus there will be tax free when you go between Norway and Denmark.
Oh 🤣
@@NonstopEurotrip Norwegians love to take ferries to Sweden (and also just drive), Denmark and Germany to buy the tax free quota and to buy cheaper meat and other food. The Color Line ferries from Oslo to Kiel are basically cruise ships.
Both ships will next month stop running. They are converting them from LNG to normal oil m. Gas is to expensive
Very interesting news!
Audio??
All new videos are voiceover now ✌🏻
@@NonstopEurotrip This is good news! Hopefully the Wroclaw one is in the pipeline...
Terrible prices in cafe
It's actually not that outrageous lol
Norway is not part of the EU customs union.
