@@rituraj4447 Unfortunately nowadays too many people seem to know the cost of everything, but the value of nothing... Klo is one of those. Football is more than trophies, it is the artistry contained within it. MatiGolVidz reminds us of that, or those of us who want to remember, anyway
that era had so many great players and many great teams and the styles of play were so different and that is what makes football "entertaining"...not like now just 22 men 11 blue 11 red...same difference!...boring!

Matigol is the best
Normally it's quite boring watching a player who scored many of his goals from the penalty spot, but Panenka is different.. he created an iconic penalty style that many have tried and failed to replicate. Not to mention he brought it to the world's attention in a major championship final... that takes skill AND nerves of steel. It could quite easily have resulted in him becoming a laughing stock if he hadn't had the confidence to pull it off.
Great dead ball specialist, passer and striker of the ball, too. Classy and ahead of his time.
Great memories of an era when there was still mystique to foreign players of this calibre, as you only really saw them in special matches, either European cup games once a week on grainy television, or once every 4 years in international competition.... not like nowadays, when there is too much football saturation and no mystery to any of the players.

Actualy, he was like third player let by communist regine to transfer in to Rapid Wien (btw the rulles for transfer from Czechoslovakia at that time was at least 32years and 50 matches in national team).

@@panda4247Wanna hear a funny story? My wife used to be a school teacher back in Brazil. Once one of her students was quite sad and she asked why. He said he was not feeling so well because he was feeling sick and had just thrown up. She asked "God? Was it something you ate?" and he went "No, I felt sick because I was "doing the Neymar". Turns out kids were playing like they were Neymar just lying on the floor and rolling around the school to see who could roll the furthest or whatnot and this one ended up throwing up from rolling too much😂

Im old enough to have witnessed this wonderful player in a couple of tournaments on TV as youth. The 'Penalty' aside, what the majority of present day observers will be unaware of, is that he was Two Footed, & comfortable driving efforts from distance with ferocious venom, or landing a 50 yard pass 'on a sixpence ' ~ Oh, & for good measure, he was also one of the games Gentleman (a la Sir Bobby if you like) a rare commodity in the modern era.

So underrated! One of the world's best ever. His disadvantage was he played in Czechoslovakia for most of his career. Had he played for Bayern or Barcelona his career would have been far more successful!

In an interview Panenka stated that if he wouldn't have scored he'd be by now a factory worker with 40 years of work experience. Failure was not an option in socialistic Czechoslovakia at that time. It was not like in the west where you'd be looked at as the clown at most. It took serious guts to go for such a kick in Euro finals (GREAT video btw!!!).

Euro Final Czechoslovakia vs Germany deciding penalty shootout Panenka is getting ready to shoot with no idea that his name will sing into the football forever
but very few people know how much story is behind that moment.
He practiced that shot for 2 years - but since nobody gave a damn about Czechoslovakian football so nobody reported on it or saw it before.
his team knew he wanted to shoot it that way if the situation comes and nobody supported that.
He came up with the idea at practice becose they were betting with teammates who scores more goals at practice to keep it competitive so they were betting chococlate money and beer.
Becose he was losing a lot money he had to come up with something new , after that he started winning and that chococlate and beer gained him a bit weight :D so it was kind of counter productive for his overall performance.
Panenka himself said that he would probably working next 30 years with steel if he did not scored that shot with the way he kicked it, becose nobody from the team supported it and he would be probably kicked out.
but he didn't knew that communist regime at that time would see it as betrayal of the regime or some kind of protest againts it and he would probably face a jail if the ball didn't end up in net.
His teammate/roommate was so so mad at him becose he did not wanted him to shoot it that way that he did not let him to their room untill 6am but it was already after the match and Panenka was celebrating till morning anyways.
Pelé commented it : That penalty shot could be only done by genius or a mad man.

The kids these days don't know about players like this..it's all messi ronaldo now nobody else..but this is when football was not stifled with tactics and faking injury. When you were allowed to express yourself fully. This guy had a bucket load of it. And "many" other players in the past that the kids don't know existed
