This is the best of all the available performances. Even on the low CZcams quality you can hear his breath and it makes it feel as organic as possible. Absolutely beautiful.
@@xsf235 it is not Alicia but Elicia Silverstein. She clearly plays after the interpretation of Rachel Podger but plays it with less talent. Perhaps she can improve and own the piece with more practice over time. Masters are not made overnight. Sinkovsky plays quite differently and also has great technical qualities but less musicality than Podger.
@@patrick6110 Thanks Patrick for correcting my mistake on Ms. Silversteins' first name. Right now Fabio Imbergamos' rendition of Passacagalia is the best for me. I little slow, but wow .....all the sounds comes alive for me. Lisa Ferschtman comes in very respectable as well. Some how I didn't listen very long to Rachel Podger before for what ever reason, thanks that you included her. There is another rendition great as well ( by someone), until the live recording has background clutter that disturbs the entire piece.
Reading 'Cerebri Anatome' and 'De Humani Corporis Fabrica' and listening to this creates an amzing sensation. Looking at the various human parts and organs, blood system and nervous system etc. Everything comes to culmination and in total harmony and perfection when human plays a musical instrument. Nothing of material value is produced but you feel elevated and amazed. How on Earth all of this come together in one glorious creation - Human!
It will take him to a beautiful reality, where one can feel at peace, where one can hide during the turbulent times, if necessary... music is thr only sanctuary we still have
We heard him in Dubrovnik, Croatia and he was absolutely magnificent! We met him after the concert and he was so gracious and kind as well.

This is my favorite version of Biber's Passacaglia. Thank you Mr. Sinkovsky.
Beautiful. I listen to this regularly. Thank you.
I've been listening to so many renditions of this. This is in my top three. I love the tempo and pace.
which are the other ones ? it has been very long since I heard these Rosary sonatas !
@@ingriddurden3929 Alicia Silverstein's rendition is great.
This one here and Rachel Podger's are the best in my opinion. What is your third ?

Jan Klassiek yes my friend indeed so very beautiful yours truly Deanklous Robinson North Yorkshire England
A sublime interpretation that breathed life into this music. Only a violinist who also sings could get inside this music like he did.
this is absolutely gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous, one of my favorites
Love this piece
excellent interpretation ! with so much energy at the precise right moments, meditative at others, so glad to heard it, wonderful !

My grandson wanted to take violin at school and I'm just wondering where that will take him... Dmitry was once 9 years old, too...
shchristy1000 I also started when I was 8, just make sure he never stops! Being able to play any instrument for that matter really is a gift :)
I started at around the age of 7 and I have loved every second of it. So good to hear about people pursuing violin.

One of the saddest songs I've ever heard

how can you shift if you don t use your chin ?
This is a poor answer.
I think he manages to achieve a completely relaxed left hand position, specially the thumb, so shifting wouldn't represent a problem.
First the thumb makes the shift. Then the hand follows.
Question: is he reading rom sheet music?
If so, was he recording ALL the sonatas in one session?

Once again, a new generation of baroque players is contradicting the synthesis.
