The ARX's damage is moderate up close, but poor at a distance: with your effectiveness evaporating quickly at a middle range.
Up close, you'll kill in three shots, or two where one shot is a headshot: in fact, headshots are particularly worthwhile with the ARX as it boasts the highest multiplier in its class, at 1.56x damage.
At a distance you may need up to 6 shots to kill: although it may be worthwhile avoiding such conflicts altogether, as many other weapons are better suited for combat over longer sightlines.
Rate of fire is very high, bested only by the FAD - at 857 rounds per minute.
The integrated laser sight tightens up the hipfire spread of the weapon to some level above a typical assault rifle, on par with the SMG default instead.
Given the elevated hipfire performance and rate of fire, combined with the low ranged damage, it may be best to think of the ARX as better fitting a hybrid SMG role.
Recoil is moderate, with the ARX-160 rapidly pulling upwards away from your target.
Because of this, you should be careful in ranged combat - but in the cases where it's a must, ensure that you only fire in short bursts to allow the recoil to settle.
Aim time is identical to its peers, at 300 milliseconds - and you'll move at the assault rifle default, at 90% of the base speed.
Magazine capacity is standard for the assault rifle class, at 30 rounds - or 45 with extended mags.
Reloads are frequent courtesy of the higher rate of fire - and are fairly average for the ARX's class, taking 2.87 seconds to complete.
The ARX-160 is a well-balanced weapon that brings many of the traits of an SMG to the assault rifle category.
With high damage up close paired with a high rate of fire, the weapon is capable of killing very quickly - and the integrated laser sight means you can more effectively use the weapon in closer quarters.
This ability to fend off aggressive attackers is a boon on smaller maps - and you retain many of the benefits of using an assault rifle, including superior range and a greater level of penetration.
However, compared to some of the assault rifles on offer the ARX is lacking at a distance: damage drops off quickly to the lowest level in class, and the moderate recoil compounds this issue, severely limiting your ability at a long range. - Hry

What many people fail to see, is the ARX-160 has a fantastic 3 hit kill range, up to 25m with the second highest rpm in the AR class, plus the laser sight makes it a deadly weapon to compete up close. Muzzle Break takes it up to 30, and that's crazy good!
The FAD is also a good gun, but up close, the ARX-160 Kills much faster. At range... Yeah, then the FAD starts to shine. Regardless, both are good guns, but nothing packs a punch quite as good as the ARX. ;)
Incorrect. FAD shoots faster and does more damage, it's time-to-kill is much faster.
How does it have more damage up close when it haves 34? 43 seems like more the last I've check. If you're talking about out of longer range, then yes you are correct, however the point I was getting at was that the ARX boosts a much better 3 shot kill range than the FAD, meaning it kills faster in close range than the FAD.
The ARX WANTS to be up close and personal, what with it's built in laser sight and faster reloads, combine with the second highest rate of fire in its class and excellent 3 shot kill range makes it a better choice over the FAD, in terms of close range performance. Don't get me wrong, I think the FAD is a good gun, but the ARX just gets the job done much better if you're looking for a weapon to clear rooms and go toe to toe with SMG users without the need for Steady Aim.
However, outside of that range, it does become pretty bad for an assault rifle, but this can be fixed by simply staying out of those fights and use cover to your advantage. If you play your cards right, with the right setup you can get in to your comfort zone and rain terror to your enemies!
I have an ARX-100 irl and it's beautiful. It's truly an underrated and innovative masterpiece

I recently used this gun i was surprised at how effective it was and is so consistent close and medium and suits my aggressive play style :)
The fad (and to a greater extent the mtar) outclasses this gun in every way but I still love it.
I've been using the Arx with the single-fire attachment and its been strangely effective... Using bad classes is definitely good fun because when you do well its pure skill or very bad oponents
I love this gun in real life. Never used a real one, but had a beautiful high quality licensed airsoft version. Handles lovely, one of my favourite assault rifles, after the f2000 and g36 which is my no.1

The Vaseline God Ghosts is like COD & MW2 which were great games. Ghosts's lag comp is the best in the series. Even when my internet is on the rag the game don't fuck me over like BO2 & MW3 did.

This guy makes everything sound so epic.
I like Ghosts but it has literally the worst spawns ever...of all time. I literally watched someone spawn in. I wasn't spawn camping, I was playing TDM on Strikezone. He spawned in the restaurant and I killed him right off of spawn. I felt so bad after the fact, but I could not stop laughing.

I hated this gun at first, but when I decided to treat it more like a smg, I loved it, first gold gun, muzzle break and extended clips with soh and its a killing machine, laser sight really good for hip firing
The perks i use for this gun and most are sleight of hand, steady aim, focus, on the go, and hardline this perk set up helps allot for me
I traded ghosts back the weekend i got it, i absolutly hated it. However i cant help but watch stu's gun reviews everytime a new episode comes out.
I played a lot of this game as a kid after finishing gta 5 story, and i remember the ARX the most because i got the gun relatively quick and i dominated almost every lobby with it. My favourite and most memorable cod weapon
I equipped the ARX with a fore grip, variable zoom lens, and a muzzle brake; it has given me good all around performance.
Really looking forward to the Ameli guide , that gun is a beast when used correctly , its a shame that the LMGs are always overlooked...
I absolutely hate advertising myself, but I plan on uploading only LMG guides here very soon, in fact all I have left is to record the script and gameplay for the Ameli. The Ameli is easily my favorite weapon in the entire game.

The Arx 160 is actually available in 5.56 and 22lr. it makes sense why it is sort of a cross, you get rifle velocity but possibly low damage. very cool and different weapon for call of duty.
the one in-game shoots weird space bullets, you can see when you reload
I found using deadeye with this gun can really help with the damage decrease at range.

ARX is easily my favorite assault rifle in Ghosts.

I love this gun on small maps but it was the hardest to get gold due to the longshots requirement. The FAD is one I haven't gotten so I am worried about that one too for longshots. The rest are cake for longshots.
I got my longshots using the semi-auto attachment. Boosts the damage and allows you to stay pretty accurate throughout fire.
Please,Stu can you cover the IA-2 more soon?

I don't enjoy this game as much as earlier CODs since I can't unlock and play around with many guns like I could in for example Black Ops 2. I was able to unlock many different guns, giving me a lot more variety. Do you agree with this Stu?
Could you talk about the semi automatic or burst attachments for guns as well. This gun is sick with three round burst. I also seen for the first two shots it has a negative recoil making the aim better, there is a few weird deals with guns like that some better some worse for the first few shots.

To get the 40 Longshots is very Hard, so here is the set up i used:
The Arx with Tracker sight, Muzzle Break and Semi Auto.
perks: Only Focus and Extra Attachment are essential

Perks are Stalker, marathon, Focus, sleight of ahnd and scavanger.
And then i run the sat com, the doge and the battle hint

Hahah, i avoid shotguns because ghosts is not the right game for them...... i say this and get always owned by a Bulldog noob who sits on his IED in some corner....
This thing is a monster with Marathon and Ready Up.
Believe me, I've taken this into battle, slammed up 28 Kills and 13 Deaths in my last game, including a hipfire Final Killcam.
ARX-160 is really good with Deadeye.
