Poor Spencer. Doesn't go the distance when all the jurors want to vote for him, does go the distance when none of them want to.
I think that actually has more to do with Jeremy vs Tony than the difference of Spencer over the two seasons
but it might just be typical ponderosa people talk. "Oh so sad you're voted off, we would have voted for you to win" to everyone who arrived at ponderosa. Unless the person was obviously hated like Kass
@Connor Scuilla Yeah when Spencer took control of the game by blindsiding Fishbach, he should've targeted Jeremy instead. I think this speaks to Jeremy's great social game that he was such a threat but people still wanted to work with him.

It was a pre-game interview so I am not sure if he said that during the actual season.

I'm just getting back into Survivor because of Netflix, and this was the season that reignited my love for the show! So sad to see Spencer lose. He played so hard the entire game.

Same here! After I watched this season on Netflix, it made me remember what I liked about this show. I went into Hulu and started rewatching-from Season 1.
All of the final 3 deserved the win Tony played the social aspect the best by far Spencer tried so hard after being in one of the worst tribes in survivor history and woo was very loyal from what I remember and barely ever backstabbed his friends Trish was also very good same deal as Spencer
Tony owes Woo a steak dinner. If he takes Kass instead, he probably wins. He takes Tony, Tony wins easily, goes on WAW, wins that, and 3 million dollars and 2 titles later, is crowned the greatest survivor player ever. Woo doesn't take him, Tony is nothing more than an after though.
Well, Tony 100% would have come back for Cambodia, so it's hard to say. And Tony gets credit for convincing Woo to do it.
That's true- and Tony convincing Woo to take him, is one of the reasons he is the greatest to ever play.
I think they would have still brought him back because he’s soooo entertaining. But the thing about the whole tony vs anyone argument is tony wouldn’t have let that happen 🤣. He got rid of any threat. He’s one of the greatest players ever

I'm surprised about Trisha being happy being out of the game, I think she's one of the underrated strategic players from this season and played a huge role in flipping kass at the merge. But then again it doesn't really help you to be bitter about being voted off.
Locations really took a nose dive after season 18.
If you watch Ponderosa she said it on there, it's not much of a secret
LJ and Jeremiah bitching about Trish being grateful she was at Ponderosa always annoyed me. She just came to the terms with the fact that she was out and moved on with her life. Such a bitter jury all around

Sucks that woo beat kass by half a second and then took tony and lost. him winning that challenge lost him the game because if kass had won she wouldve taken woo and he wouldve won

Actually Kass has said she was considering taking Tony if she won. She knew she would lose either way and likely wanted Tony who was more deserving to win and also to have a more exciting Final Tribal Council where they both get lambasted.

The amount of Sarah in Ponderosa and her good reads make me think that that might be the reason she came back for Game Changers.
Jeff said in a pre-game interview that Spencer had zero chances of winning (which Jeff later then sent an apology note to Spencer)

To be fair Jeff had a good explanation for thinking that. It even came up during the show that people thought Tony was the next Russell Hantz
Tony even said L.J. was a great player, and most similar to himself. Maybe Jeff was not too far off.
As a Filipino, I remember watching this season and was all excited about the Philippines being represented. But the tribal council area being inspired by indonesia having good arts and crafts annoyed me bc they clearly didnt look into the filipino history and their art. I have nothing against indonesia i just find it slightly disrespectful that they would take a whole other country’s art and put it into the forefront when the Philippines has great representation and history and art as well. The part where they go visit the village was so great

tbh i don't know if any of the ones in the philippines did
i think season 25 philippines somehow did but not to the full extent.
Yeah, it is pretty frustrating as a Filipino not really showcase the culture as much as previous seasons, the closest maybe is "Philippines" but it didn't go too far, while the Indonesian motif was more of a Bali-like motif than Austronesian - as much as Dangrayne was funny as a name there's a part of me that felt they didn't dig on the culture enough hehe.
It is indeed in the Northern Philippines.
They can't duplicate theme in same country, they already did in 25th, 26th is primitive theme while 27th was a colonial dynasty. Since they are not allowed to film in Indonesia because of explicit content which are against their religion , they just borrow the Balinese theme

Spencer's "hunger strike" doesn't seem like a very good strategy to me, depending on when he did it. If it was early in the merge, okay. But at the end of the game, it was obvious that he wasn't getting to the end without winning challenges, so intentionally weakening himself in the one aspect of the game that he needs to do well in seems rather shortsighted. No one was taking him to the end.
It isn't clear as to when it was in the game.
It would be a good strategy if he didn’t die eventually!

Obviously Trish was saying things like "I'm glad to be at ponderosa" bc she was probably having a hard time wrapping her head around it. Telling herself that its a good thing was probably the only way for her to contain herself from getting upset.

They can talk shit on Kass all they want but she was the only one of them brave enough to stand up to Tony. A bunch of babies. She played a great game just as Tosh, Spence, and I hate to say Tony did as well.
Kass played an objectively terrible game because all she did was make enemies. But goddamn do I respect her for at least playing and making some riveting TV
Kass was Tony's original lackey after the merge, though. She's the one who flipped and gave Tony control of the game. She's an idiot goat who tried to work against Tony way too late in the game.
I actually think LJ has a chance to win if he reaches the finals, depending on how he'll play in the later parts. LJ vs Tony in the final 2 would probably be a very close match.

If I am ever on survivor I would work full time to secure total tribal loyalty before the swap especially if we had numbers advantage so that we could pick off the others and make sure its all us left. Seeing tribes flip during swaps is so stupid.
The reason people flip though is because if you have a tribe with numbers and you feel like an outsider in that group you’re not going to make it past 6th, 7th, 8th or what have you. Sometimes flipping can put you in a better spot than before and give you momentum to potentially win. or you can end up like cochran in South Pacific ending worse off then if he didn’t flip. If kass didn’t flip she probs would’ve been 6th but she flipped and got all the way to third
For sure I agree! I would secure my top numbers within that group (shoutout rob making sure you’re in a group and then in a smaller group within that group too) and kinda just have to hope that everyone else doesn’t notice and are dumb to believe us telling everyone else that they’re our top three

Ughh, it still others me to this day that Spencer didn’t win. The way he plays the game is so impressive, and the way he thinks about it to is what blows my mind. It sucks that he didn’t win.
Can you do a You Tube video on Winners at War, and how Ben taking himself out of the game (for various reasons), actually may have cost Sarah the title. Based on Natalie winning the challenge at final four, and things that may have transpired. Thx.
Thanks- this really never got the attention it deserved, considering the possible consequences. There were brief mentions of this by Kelly Wentworth, and on a few survivor podcasts, on how it actually hurt Sarah's end game, as opposed to helping it. That being said, since it's such a big moment and turning point, I think it needs to be talk about in more detail.

If I was on survivor I would be crying half the time tbh. Hangry the other half of the time.
Okay I will finally concede that Kass probably wouldn't have won against woo, and I know we as viewers have a different experience of the game from the players, but them treating kass like that makes me smad. Like there was zero sportsmanship. It's really offputting to me, might be enough to sour me on the whole season bc kass is one of my fav players. Idk.
Actually nvm the brains underdog redemption arc was the best thing about this season imo and that cannot be ruined for me
Yeah the total lack of respect and everyone's reaction to Spencer arriving in Ponderosa VS the reaction to Kass arriving in Ponderosa is actually so distasteful. It makes them all look like sore losers. She got further than every single one of you, grow up!!

My first 2 seasons were heros vs villains, & cagayan, so as you'd expect I said that tony is basically russel with a social game

My favorite what if is thinking about how this season would’ve been received had Woo taken Kass. Like would it have essentially been Kaoh Rong, with the social player beating out the “more strategic” fan favorite? People would probably compare Tony to Cirie and how they both lost to the random return of final 2

The way I see it.. getting voted off survivor first would suck pretty bad, but not nearly as bad as getting voted off big brother first lmao bc it's the same amount if annoyance to get there (not to mention having your hopes up), but at least Survivor pays all of the contestants SOMETHING. *AND* the premerge boots get to go on a fancy vacation for free, big brother boots just have to go home and face the embarrassment of having clips of them tweezing their nose hairs and throwing up bc they drank too much circling the internet.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I have never thought Tony was remotely deserving as a winner and it eternally baffles me that he ever got any votes. I see him getting fat in the game because he so crazy and chaotic that no one thinks he's a true threat. But how on earth does he win. Ever. Let alone twice.
