@@timtubepiano That is quite more advanced, I think. I, however, bet that you need an instrument or some tone player in order to better compose. Otherwise, congrats: you've got perfect pitch hearing! A skill I and many musicians want. Aside that, writing on paper developes a unique notewriting. I wish you the best in writing music. I also hope you'll be able to post some of it here too. I am also trying to write some things, but the paranoia of subconsciously copying some great piece you've heard before is terrifying.

@@tfwnoyandere Yep there is such a thing as augmented scales. It only consists of 6 notes and is called a hexatonic scale. The notes of the F+ scale are F, G#, A, C, Db, E. It's just the notes of an F+ chord and a G#+ chord. Augmented scales are built from the notes of an augmented chord and another augmented chord a minor 3rd above the first chord.

4:28 This doesn't really feel like a very good description of an inverted chord, An inverted chord is one in which the Root of the chord (As well as sometimes other notes) is moved up an octave, Leading to it being at the top (or middle) of the chord rather than the bottom as it is in root position, Hence the name inversion, And that doesn't necessarily include all chords with a space there, For example if you had a Ninth chord, But removed the Seventh, That's still in root position, Despite having a gap in the middle.

@@NelsonRiverosMusic Staffpad is the notation software. It just uses the touch screen as an input.

    Wouldn't that be a V, not a IV? (I'm just learning, so I'm not saying you're wrong.)
But I thought, after the root note (or the I chord,) the fourth key would be the V chord. No?
Or, were you maybe just mixing up the words because its four notes away and all of this is confusing AF? LOL
Anyway- Great tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to make and share this with us!

I started composing and writing songs when I was 12, all on
my own, nobody even knew. I kept composing but sadly I stopped
writing lyrics and I started again when I was 15 and now I have
more of a hang of it (I couldn't get access to any sort tutorials either)

@@lucifelder2131 I don't think by "you" he meant the person in the video. It is probably an unspecified human, like "on" in French. So, he asked if one needs to know musical theory to write this kind of simple music. I do not know the definitive answer, but I do not think it is the stupidest question. You don't necessarily need to know about architecture theories to build a cabin in the woods. You do, if you want to be a architecture professor.
