You could hypothecate a scenario where this could happen but it would be like telling people they need to worry about getting hit by lightning on a sunny day with scattered clouds. After 42 years of practice and around 40,000 bankruptcies I have never seen this happen once.

Right, I have never seen it happen although a V.P. at Green Dot confirmed to me that it has happened. However, it is so rare as to be a non-issue.

So does the bank account have to be in your state in order for a creditor to garnish it

If a bank is offering any sort of product in X state, then the bank must have a registered agent in that state.

Social Security Disability cannot be garnished by non-governmental creditors.

What if i have like 3-5k, usd, on a wise prepaid debit card? Can it be garnished? I mean, would they easily known i have it then?
