Today is really historic for me for 2 reasons: one, it's the day I first smelled POAL by FM. Second, it's my first day here, and I can't remember the last time I was blown away by a reviewer! I loved the way you described POAL, which to me, didn't have that "wow" factor at first sniff. But your review of POAL was a "wow" to me, and I had to quickly bring out my POAL, spray a little, and sniff.... Wait a minute! Was I really blown away?! Yes! Now I get it. So thank for really bringing out the "wow" in POAL for me. That's a sub. ❤️❤️❤️

Love Portrait. Probably my favorite perfume. It really has it all. And I agree with you when saying that it leans more masculine than feminine although I don't care for that kind of labeling. I remember you said Promise wants to be a flanker of it marketed for the Middle East. I just don't get that. To me, Promise is Portrait of a Lady on Haloween night dressed as Jason Vorhees. Promise is chemical, sour, woody-earthy and acidic with some apple accord going on. Portrait to me is rose-patch with spices berries and some incense and vanilla. They are both great but as much as I try to see the connection I can't. It's like Beauty and the Beast:).
Bolat Andrei so much argument about gendering this perfume. It is what it is.
Promise is loud and obnoxious so I see the Halloween resemblance but it’s still a PoaL flanker for me.

Wow, finally got a chance to sniff this one over the weekend and I was blown away. So was my wife, which is a bit of a surprise. I sprayed some on my wrists and on a tissue that still smells gorgeous several days later. FANTASTIC.

Personally, I think that this does lean slightly feminine. I could really see a more mature woman rocking it. But it's enough that a more confident man could wear this.
Performance on this is a bit weird on me. As soon as I think its really mellow, it kicks back up again. Really seems to be activated by moisture.
I can't decide of I love it, like it or indifferent about it. I think that it lacks just a little bit of depth. A little jammy quality or a little darkness. Just a touch, not much.
People exaggerate the whole reformulation thing for most fragrances. They just want something to talk about (complain) about.
Just picked up a bottle of this the other day and I am love love loving it. I'd gone in looking for une rose but they didnt have any in stock so I wound up falling for this one. So elegant and it just smells so damn good.
I have a decant that I have been trying every once in a while for a couple of years and couldn't get into it. I loved the Patchouli and incense but the rose was a bit hard for me to deal with. Then all of a sudden this month I am suddenly obsessed with it. Which is weird becuase it's the height of summer in Australia. I now finally love POAL, it's beautiful. ❤️

When you talked about the body butter and the oil enhancing the perfume I couldn't help but think of the body butter in the scent of The Night, as if that one needed anymore enhancing !! 😂😂😂 I think that layering could be lethal 😂

We have 11.2021 and I have sample of this fragrance and after shower when I touch my neck I clean truly smell portrait of a Lady on my fingers nice as hell 🙂❤

I got granny vibes initially but really began to like it the more I wore it.
Ran out of my sample a while ago (still sniff the empty decant every so often). Will probably get another 5 or 10mls soon.

I own Portrait, & I'm thinking of buying Oud Ispahan. I read a review where someone said that Oud Ispahan smells like Portrait Of A Lady. What are your thoughts on that ?
I got a sample from Niemans with an MFK frag. It sprayed 5 times. Not overwhelming. Husband is pretty sensitive and he came up to my wrist 5 mins after spraying and he didn’t find it to be too strong (before dry down.) I get no berries or incense. I get more clove. I seriously think it’s office safe.

This fragrance and I simply don't agree. I can appreciate the quality, however I think it would be better suited to a man or maybe a slightly more agressive woman. I find the name just doesn't correlate with the essence of this perfume. It is a portrait yes, but not one of a lady.
if you want to stay looking youthful, SPF is what you need, not perfumed oils.
Where I can sampler this in the USA ?

When you say 83% vs 80% alcohol then means it's diluted juice right?
@Matthew exactly so it's changed...not the notes but the concentration of the juice.... maybe it doesn't impact the performance but it's changed
