- How do you go about cleaning your tattoo needles?
In this video I share with you how and why I go about cleaning my tattoo needles during my tattoo sessions. PLEASE NOTE that we DO NOT Sterilize tattoo needles, to confirm ALL tattoo needles should come properly sterilized by the manufacturer straight to our tattoo station and opened at our tattoo station. We should not be sterilizing any tattoo needles or re-using tattoo needles on different clients. This is not common practice and ALL needles are a 1 time use.
I will link my amazon affiliate and affiliate links below so you can check out the gear featured in this video on your end.

I typically do 3 cups for this. 1st cup gets the bulk of the color out, 2nd cup basically finishes it, 3rd cup is just to make sure no color is left on the needle.
That is actually a very cool stable system and I can see this as useful as well. I will have to give this a try. Thank you for relaying that info I appreciate you.
Great vid as always bro. Just one tip, use two cups, one with only water so you can clean out the ink first and then flush the needle in the witch hazel. It'll make it last longer and water is inexpensively replaceable.
Thank you for your kind feedback and support Steve! I appreciate you very much. This is a FANTASTIC tip! Thank you , I am going to have to try this method as it does seem like a good system. I appreciate you taking the time to relay that info to me.
Thank you ! what kind of water please ?

@@imapootytat thank you :)
Daniel you the best man THANKS
Awesome as always! Thank you for making these videos :)
Thank you so much utuberleviathan! I appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment and I appreciate your continued support.
Once again great video! I’ve been doing it all wrong. Putting my needle down further to flush water and more dabbing needle tips. “This” should’ve been a question I asked before. Thank u
Haha I learned this way too. I used to dip the needle in there in there and over time I realized less is more especially in this situation ahaha. I appreciate you very much William! Thank you for your continued time and support.
I will also be checking my Patreon here shortly to see if you have sent anything my way and I will get back to you here very soon.
Thank you. Really helpful tips❤
You are welcome! Thank you very much for the feedback and for your support. I appreciate you, your time and your support.
Daniel you are always a wealth of information and this video is no exception. I have had issues with some build up on the tip of the needle and this cleaning out video was a big help. My one question is have you tried the dip cups with the sponge in it, and if you have what did you think of them? As always blessings to you and your family brother!
Gavin!!! I am grateful for your continued support and the time you take out of your day to send me kind words. I appreciate you very much!
I have actually made a review on some dip cups that I like to use and I will link that video to you below so you can check it out on your end. I like using the dip cups as it makes it easy to clean up a needle. I think it is a great investment to make for anyone who experiences needle clogs.
I will link you below to the video and I will link you to my amazon affiliate link below so you can check out the video and dip cups on your end. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions at all.

@DanielYuck thank you so much! Im a fan of easy and quick when it comes to clean up and all the more so when the needles are involved. I'll check out your review and thank you for your Amazon affiliate link. Amazon really is the most easy and convienent way to get supplies. And I say that with a (not-so-great) dollar general right down the road!
I never knew any of this awsome bro
Awesome vid. I would change my gloves again if im messing with the plunger and putting it back in the machine. Great vid though
I have a few questions if it’s possible for you to answer, I haven’t been able to find anything about it online! 1. How long is distilled water good for after opening for tattooing? 2. How long is a bottle of diluted green soap good for after it’s mixed up? 3. Do I need to disinfect the inside of my wash bottles before refilling them, and if so how should I go about that? Thanks in advance if you see the comment, and thank you for all of the informational videos😊
Can I clean the needles with a mix of distilled water and green soap?
Hi Daniel, is there any other solution I can put into the cup to use to clean the needle, or does it need to be witch hazel with 14% ? Is tap water safe? Should I use distilled water?
Also when mixing green soap, is distilled water a must? Any tips are welcome
Great insight as always, but not as big as the coffe cup cause I used the rinse cup to finish off my shadings before adding the Alleghory Ultra White for the finale, great video as always my friend🤘🏻

Could be useful to change the water 👍👍 but yeah, thx for the Video.
I would like to ask for the purchase link for napkins. Thanks.

@@DanielYuck Thank you very much!
What do you think doing this to reuse needles for practice only? Meaning working on practice skins cleaning and working on another practice skin the next day? Needles are expensive while practicing and not getting any income. Besides the needle dulling I can’t see a problem. I do not work on skin at all yet.
The only downside is exactly what you said, the needle will dull over time. You can also use distilled water to do this even cheaper, however you’ll also have rust to worry about if you use it over multiple days
Fantastic informative video Daniel! :D I got this saved for when I move on to fake skins :D
Thank you Neon!!!! I am grateful for your continued time and support! You are greatly appreciated. Don't hesitate to drop a comment should you ever have any questions.
Just my thoughts of removing the cartridge and wiping it from the fiber: if you’re tattooing on real skin, then all your gloves are in ink and blood. When you touching the cartridge that way all the bad stuff from your gloves will get into areas of your machine which cannot be cleaned and sterilised as needed. So I think it’s a bad idea to do so with dirty gloves when tattooing on real person. Correct me if I’m wrong🤘🏻
This is a VERY good point and take!
This is how I look at the cross contamination aspect. I consider everything contaminated. Everything has blood on it in my head. So let's say I do remove the needle to clean out the needle as shown in the video I would most definitely switch my gloves and grab the needle with a napkin and my left hand while my right hand works the plunger.
In terms of cross contamination in my setup I would get Opticide and thoroughly apply the solution to the inside of my machine. I always consider the sterilization aspect when using the machines I have used and tried. Some are easier to sterilize over others but it is not to say that the machines cant be sterilized. Some require more patience over others. I just prefer machines that can be fully disassembled as I have talked about in almost every review I have done.
@@DanielYuck thanks for your answer. I see it the same way. But my comment was about that your CZcams channel have a lot of tattooers who is just in the beginning of their way to master. And probably after seeing this one they could do mistake by taking cartridge with dirty gloves and put it back to the machine. Thanks for your work once again. You’re doing great job with your channel 💪🏻
Thank you for the kind feedback. I do try my best to control the info I put out and do it in the safest manor I know how. I feel that people were making this very mistake long before me ever getting into tattooing, they will be making it long after I’ve retired and I’m sure even I never had my channel this mistake would still be made.
Furthermore I will definitely do better and being more descriptive and punctual with these aspects about tattooing. Thank you for the feedback.
