  • Germany's successful answer to the Love Boat, "The Dream Ship" filmed a episode in Bermuda which aired in 2001. Much of this episode was filmed on locations all over the island and the last hour is mostly shot in Bermuda. A total of 83 episodes have been produced as of 2019
    Many Bermudians are featured with 150 "extras" hired locally.
    Johnny Barnes at the roundabout, The Somerset Brigade Band at Dockyard, Tuckers Town, Elbow Beach, The Gombey's at Elbow Beach, the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, Crystal Caves, Fort Hamilton and some moped riding is all part of the action!

    Das Traumschiff (The Dream Ship) is a German television series that first aired in 1981 on ZDF. It would become one of the most-watched television shows in Germany and continues to air new episodes. Part soap opera, part drama, part travelogue - the premise is quite similar to The Love Boat with typically three independent storylines involving guests onboard and the crew working to provide the all-important happy ending. The ships traveled the world docking at exotic ports including Tahiti, the United States, Bermuda, South America, Africa, Australia, Asia.
    From 1981 to 1984 first twelve episodes were filmed on two ships from Norwegian American Cruises the Vistafjord (1981-1982) and the Astor (1983-1984). In 1986, the Berlin (FTI Group) was used until 1999 when the MS Deutschland (Peter Deilmann Shipping Company) took over. In 2015, a new ship, the Amadea (Phoenix Reisen) was used as the backdrop for the series.

    Anke and Gerd Anselm, divorced for some time, are going on board together with their new partners Daniel Feldbach and Viola Herrmann on board the "MS Deutschland". The trip to the Bermuda Islands want to use Anke and Gerd to build a friendly relationship with each other. Arriving on Bermuda, Anke and Gerd Anselm embark on a sailing trip, an old shared passion. Their partners prefer a beach day instead. When Anke and Gerd get into a storm, they do not suspect how close their respective partners have come ...
    On board are also two women who go into great despair daring: Anna and her daughter Helen Bräuer want to buy the abducted husband and father during their stay in the Bermuda Islands.     Da fehlt was in dieser Geschichte. Die Entführung wurde nicht fertig erzählt.
