The actual speed is a function of wheel circumference travel, along the tire, not wheel rotation rate, at the hub. The speed reported by the meter will only be correct at a specific radius, or wheel size.
Easily fixed by changing the meter's paper insert. Presuming it's a paper insert.
Sellers should go thru their inventory of these and look for "defects", and market them for the wheel size they would accurately represent.
This is not working for odometer, it will still count rotations with it's own preset "rotations per kilometer/ mile". Today at trials and comparison with GPS distance I had +42 km at odometer and +37 km at GPS tracker (26" wheel). So error is about 13% and this odometer will work correctly only with 29" wheels, bit it haven't enough cable length for this.

Hey I have a question. I don’t have disk brakes I have v brakes. Will this still work? I have a Diamondback MTB with 26 inch wheels and there’s a nut on my front axle that I’m not sure if I should remove to make this work. I try to install the part that goes on the axle and there’s not enough room. What should I do? Thanks to anyone who replies.
