Both Church and Gunfire are live studio recordings
As promised, and thank you for the quick reaction to Asterism. They do have plenty of studio songs we can eventually check out. When I first heard this song it gave so many remembrances of Jimi Hendrix with a mixture of Santana when I watched the Woodstock video many years ago. These kids found each other when they we Haruka (Hal-Ca) 10, Miyo 10, and Mio 12 in their first band competition. The put out their first single when they were 13, 14, and 15 with a song called 155 back in 2014 czcams.com/video/2gBCmUWqtJU/video.html

Thanks Sal. I REALLY like this band and can't wait to hear more.
There is many amazing guitarists out there like Miyako, but Hal-Ca got that star aura and plays with feel that i probably only heard in hendrix. She is just amazing.
one of the best songs ever.. and i'm not talking about nowadays. this is really good
Hal-Ca is the best guitar player I've ever seen. As is the bass player - he was the best I saw too. The two of them were so good I didn't pay any attention to the drummer.
Have seen them in Tokyo and their former base Fukuoka. At Fukuoka they finished their set early and some people in the crowd were suggesting encores. Being a jazz fan I said can you do some walking-bassline 4/4 ad libbing, and they did so. They can play anything, and well.
i’m glad you finally react to Asterism… they are young and talented musician… I don’t understand why reactors don’t react to them more… I would like to recommend a song called “Gunfire” (Live in Studio)… here is the link czcams.com/video/n6OZRHApn3U/video.htmlsi=L6dbpIavA8IxzKJv
This is how sad Austin, Tx is when it comes to Hard Rock/Metal. Watch this video and see how many people come out to see Asterism and where they had to play. I feel so sorry for them to have to play in the "Live music capitol of the world"

Great stuff! Love me some Asterism. This was of course just someone in the audience filming on their phone, so the audio was understandably not that great. Asterism actually have several "live in studio" videos on their CZcams channel, with great audio. I do find that they lack much of the energy that you get from a performance in front of an audience though, so I actually prefer fan cams like this one, despite the audio. But if you want to give a studio version a try, I would suggest _Church,_ from _Guernica+a_ (2021), their most progressive album:

And if you want to see Haruka go full blues, check out her cover of SRV's _Scuttle Buttin':_

At the latest when Miyu starts his bass solo, these three do full justice to their band name and take you on a journey to the stars. 3 truly outstanding musicians whose love for music and their instruments is reflected in their songs.

great reaction as always. these three are phenomenal. and Hal-Ca has started so sing now. I love it so much. check out their official MVs "Stardom" and "Fiction" from their YT channel. you´ll will like it. MV of "Stardom" is brilliant" too.
Love them 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Listen to the studio recording of DAWN. You will see that this live performance was a note-perfect rendition.
She spells her name as HAL-CA for Western consumption (it’s a little closer to the Japanese pronunciation of Haruka-はるか).
Cool live in studio videos include Gunfire and Church. I love their BATTLE SESSION video playlist (you can move the position of the 360 degree camera with your mouse), as well as the old live video of BLAZE - czcams.com/video/51Pxkp8lGAs/video.html.
Congratulations on finding the best new power trio since (in my opinion) Cream, and thanks Sal for suggesting this. Forgive any duplication of info, but here is a short backgrounder:
They are an instrumental power trio from Fukuoka, Japan. They consist of:
Haruka Noma, guitars (“HAL-CA”)
Miyu Yoshinaka, bass
Mio Yoshinaka, drums
They were formed in 2014 when Noma was 11 and the brothers were 12 and 14 respectively. They were all playing at a talent fair for young musicians in their hometown, when one of the music scouts noticed them, had a hunch and suggested they play together. Most of their current youtube catalogue is fan-made live video footage, much of it at the Hard Rock Café in Fukuoka. There are also a few clips from their one tour in the U.S., when they played Austin and Los Angeles. From the start, they have written most of their own music, covering a wide range of styles.
The brothers bring a lot of jazz and funk ideas into their playing. Miyu plays 4,5 and 7-string basses, which are co-lead instruments in his hands. They are all phenomenal talents, but the big draw has been Noma, known by her first name Haruka or by her stage name Hal-Ca. She has been likened to a reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, with bits of Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt and Akira Takasaki, among others, thrown in. Even in the Japanese scene, with its overload of extraordinarily technical instrumentalists, she stands out. She also writes most of the band’s music.
Best clips to start with are:
“Rising Moon” (their first professional MV): czcams.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/video.html
“Blaze” (Live): czcams.com/video/51Pxkp8lGAs/video.html

“Dawn” (Live): (You just watched this)

Asterism - Church and Gunfire Live in Studio 2021.
It can't be better than this.
Please, react to it ❤
Will do!
Hal ca real name is Haruka. Hal ca is another way of saying Haruka. Let me explain. There is no L sound in Japanese. They pronounce L as RU. Great reaction to three genius level musicians . At this point Haruka had only been playing lead guitar for 6 years.
I also would like to recommend a band called Destrose…Destrose was a band that had many members go in and out, including quite a few names you might recognize in today’s Japanese female metal band…like Lovebites…Nemophila…Fate Gear…Mary’s Blood… just to name a few… if you’re interested, here’s the link for a song (MV) called “Maze”czcams.com/video/vgWwXA8WmOQ/video.htmlsi=mTogxM44YppOTvrK
I have probably heard that song 1000 times and it just doesn't get old. Such an amazing composition from such amazing musicians.
A few links below that may whet your appetite for this band of young musicians

Instrumental live in the studio from 2 years ago, as I love their instrumentals
That was really good. These kids have some cool chops. 👍
Yes they do
Hal-Ca is an insanely gifted guitarist and there is hardly any girl equal to her in skill and charisma right now.
I recommend listening to the entire Guernica album
ASTERISM - Church czcams.com/video/pkiKSBX8JPA/video.html
ASTERISM - THEN&NOW czcams.com/video/L7ocIIVriQM/video.html
ASTERISM - Museum Of Death (LIVE) czcams.com/video/swih8IzuL8g/video.html
From the early days, it's a great composition
ASTERISM「Rising Moon 」 czcams.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/video.html
Each of their compositions is a masterpiece .....
not just only "hardly any girl", it´s hardly any human being 😉
I beg to differ because in Indonesia we have Ayu Gusfanz who is just as good if not way better than Haruka, and I love them both
@@salsaucedo Ayu Gusfanz is technically much weaker than Haruka. It's obvious. Plus Haruka is also a composer with several studio albums to her credit. One of which is "Guernica", a masterpiece in the world of instrumental music. Ayu is basically a youtube guitarist.
@@UltraHD.7 I tried to bring this up to blackacres on one of the music forums. I was almost torn apart by fans of two-note riffs.
@@Intensive-Care and I'd die on that hill defending her 🙂
I also support what you said to Sal the 🤡. He's bringing that name up for years now.
My favorite song played by my favorite guitarist in one of my favorite bands ❤
This is the 1st song I heard by them Asterism Gunfire czcams.com/video/n6OZRHApn3U/video.html
I had to force myself to stop listening 45 seconds in - that's going up next. Good to see you Evil. Hope it's all going good for you. Thanks for the link!
anytime this is a great band Church is also a great studio track@@RockCandy-ix3nn
Japanese musicians are top tier, especially women. Asterism is an outstanding band. They have already performed in the USA, in small venues.
The song already said everything that needs to be said. So im just here bumping the algorithm.
Church is their next best song, albeit half the length. Most of their stuff is instrumental, and all of that amazing.
Only their latest album has vocals (she only recently hired a vocal coach) ... Its not bad (i know i enjoy it), but most Asterism fans are in it for the instrumentals.
Unfortunately, seems most live recordings are of similar quality as this, ... EXCEPT for their official live studio sessions on their YT (those are all really good ... and some of the "Battle Session" ones even let you control the camera angle)
I'm into instrumental shredding with groups like Asterism and D_Drive, etc. But with Asterism, it's not about chops or performance. It's about their songs. Continued maturity and experience will be a blessing for the song writing. With time, experimentation and persentence, they have no place to go but up.
The first full Asterism album 'Ignition' is full of relatively traditional heavy metal including this song.
Executed at the highest level.
Their next two releases, 'GUERNICA' (2020) and 'GUERNICA + a' (2021) were more progressive.
They followed that up with an anime/metal cover album titled "Animetic", released on September 9th, 2022.
They each chose favorite anime themes to "Asterism-ize".
'unravel', the Tokyo Ghoul theme song is my favorite from that one.
I believe the most recent releases are ASIDE, BESIDE and DECIDE, and that HAL-CA sings on all three albums.
Thanks for the info, Rick!
I was lucky enough to see them live in 2019 when they played at a small club in L.A.
Still their only West Coast show so far.
That was after a bunch of small gigs at SXSW in Austin.
To be fair, Decide is just ASide + BSide + the new single _Shooting Star_ 🤷
@@Double_J_48629 Great point.
I've got a signed copy, but it's still in the wrapper. : )
@@rickwagner- 🤘🤘🤘🤘
(kinda jealous, ngl)
Haruka is my favorite guitarist in the world today, noone else gives me the feels and emotions like her.
"Church" or "Gunfire" from the "live in studio" recordings on their channel are the go tos next. And many more...
@@ElectricStarship honestly, you can get really annoying sometimes, even seem to be a bit too fanatic 🤨
I'm certainly not gonna change my picture for someone demanding it on the internet. Maybe you should calm down from time to time.
@@ElectricStarship no, seriously, it's really too much from time to time. And I'm not going to talk about the picture topic again.
HOLY FRAKIN @#%$ ! i have been playing on and off for 45 years and i cannot get close to playing my guitars like i just saw that young lady play sorry i have been putting off checking out this band thanks for reminding me of them
@@ElectricStarship lol it was intended as a humorous compliment to a guitarist that is new to me not a comparison to my self i am quite happy with where i am in my playing and i am pretty sure R. C. got it what i am not sure of was why you felt the need to reply in such a slightly insulting manner or for that matter reply to a comment that was not intended to e taken seriously or for you, but hey what eve if it made you feel good i am happy for you cheers ;)
@@ElectricStarship lol if it is on you why would i put it on my tab wouldn't that make it on me ? perhaps we both need to work on our humor and sarcasm things that make sense inside of our own heads do not always translate to others any way she is a damn good guitarist and obviously has put in the work something me a a military vet did not always have the time or opportunity to do that was the 20 years off on my off and on comment i do not have that excuse any more and practice constantly and spend time here and on other channels for inspiration and friendly banter such as this is i hope lol cheers !
@@ElectricStarship lol i have had several small strokes and my fingers do not always hit the correct keys same with the fretboard thanks for the reminder playing now at my age with disabilities is just as much therapy as it is pleasure but i can take a joke and you had no way of knowing also i do not drink thanks any way i will make some tea instead here are some periods for ya ;) ......... cheers i needed a good laugh today thanks for that :)
@@ElectricStarship thanks dude my little sister is a nurse and gives me no choice in the matter of my lifestyle lol and i receive very good care from my out patient team at the V.A. luckily where i live we have 2 highly rated V.A. facilities . Music and re learning how to play guitar like i used to is how i keep focused .i adapt life is good as it is :cheers :)
@@ElectricStarship i have been sober going on 15 years now through pure force of will and determination , one day at a time . glad you are too. if faith in something higher is what worked for you glad to hear it .everyone needs to find what works for them
Glad you hit on the sound quality - as you said this video really doesn't do them justice ! I love live but usually hate " fancam "
I'd suggest listening to
" Rising Moon " from the Battle Session - studio live
or ( in this order as it tells a musical story based on the famous Picasso painting) from the Guernica album - there are live studio versions of all these
" Gunfire "
" Faced / Burned "
" Church "
Thanks for the info!
She, like Miyako and Saki, is a musical genius.
Asterism = goodism Greetings from Argentina
Well I was correct predicting you wouldlike them. Haruka (HAL-CA) is now 21 I think, origianally all theirsongs were instrumental, but recently HAL-CA has started doing vocals on some songs.
Not watched your reaction yet, but I am guessing you are gonna love this band.
You guessed correctly! Thanks for watching.
Hal-ca is 21 now....
sexy man 😍😍😍
@@ElectricStarship yes sexy ,you could have me 😋,that's what you really meant to say
@@ElectricStarship ow no sexy man ,I am all man , we eating sausage tonight🤣🤣🤣
