hey mate! i found another technic to correct the acapella's speed: -first you need to put two hotcue points on the beginning of two words that you can easily recognize and which are spaced enough (about a minute is perfect) -do the same on the exact same word on the original song -match each hotcues -you found the speed
Lol I love phill telling people to rip music hahaha I’ve always said, it’s hard enough to save up as a kid to get Dj gear and speakers let alone having to pay for a subscription to a record pool or even worse pay for every song. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere
Your RekordBox analysis is set in dynamic, that’s why it’s giving 122,88 after analysing. Basically the software adjusts the intro beats, chorus beats and verse beats individually and doesn’t do a uniform analysis. Just go into settings and change dynamics to normal analysis. The option is somewhere in analysis settings!
I have a tip for at least finding the correct speed of the acapella and setting it. If the acapella is off, I adjust it until it matches the original. Once it is close enough. Then I adjust the the beat grid of the acapella to match the original at the alternate speed. So now if I want to play the off time acapella. I can basically use the same beatmatching techniques we use for anything else. So the acapella will be listed at the correct speed, albeit not matching the original. But now I can use the tempo fader to re match it to its original, or any other song. Gosh Ive come a long way. 😉
Great video as usual. You should have played a mix too in order to give a real and live example. One more thing , please show some examples of acapellas which starts a little bit before or after the grid. Thanks...I am a DJ now because I bought your DJ lessons.
Hey Phil, thanks for the tips, very usefull. To change the beatgrid you don't need to go to Export mode, you can do this in Performance mode too if you click on the button left under the PAD Mode button ( the 4 squares) next to where you can change the settings from Hotcue to Pad FX or something else ( the vertical lines )
@@djrichent97 Pretty sure you can do it on the Free version of Virtual DJ also(without a controller connected) Also if you Google splitterDOTai (obviously don't write DOT) its a free web based Stems extractor made by one of the Guys from Deezer which is pretty amazing, especially for Free :)
Excellent tip. I tend to just go old skool with acapella and just beat match there and then which can also be a hassle but this tip will surely make it better to prep. Thanks. Also.... I want to get into music production, as a beginner would you go for ableton 11 or fl studio? Or other?
@@SnaikHead I am also certain it does. I'm pretty sure I was using it before I started to pay. You just have to be sure to change your equalizer controls to either EZRemix or Modern EQ. You then can literally use your normal EQ pots for voice, instruments and bass. It's almost magic. It works very well.

@@DJPhilHarris You're welcome! I had the same issues not so long ago and it drove me crazy haha!

Great insight, Phil. Starting to work with acapellas so very well timed. Thanks for sharing your tips. :)

Right I will have to try this!
Great thing to do, thanks phil!
Thanks Phil. Really good presentation.
What are your thoughts on Neural Mix Pro? It seems to rather cleanly automate an otherwise bothersome process.
love the video but its to much Neural Mix Pro is about the easiest way to make acappelas

@@spriyank410 Thanks buddy :)
Phil! one of your best videos! good job, btw this is not the best one, the best one is the one with your wife learning to mix!
Much more of this coming very soon
Nice! A bit of preproduction, but can make your set more fun & fluid imo
Half video in.. I have to come back for this, not ready yet
This was great, thanks!
Really that was an awesome video I learn a lot from it
The only thing missing is a quick acapella remix demonstration otherwise great video
Rx8 music rebalance is amazing for acapella
Wow that software looks awesome. I’m going to get it!
Thank You

Genius
When i use usb they load slow, the bpm comes after some time. Hoew to solve that?
A big THX for this tip. 😁
With VDJ you can do it much faster and easier. You can even make the acapella with the stems separation. Good explanation though.
jup.. he made it seem so complicated
Can you explain how to do it with Virtual DJ? Tks
With stems separation you have the beats and key correct every time. Just give it a try.
@@RubenArmas Ok, i will try. Tks
Thank you so much
Great video, thx
check out algorithm for there software that just makes the acapella
A number of DJ Pools have Acapellas that you can download at 320kbps. The problem is that a lot of DJ Pools don’t keep tracks forever.
I find record pools a very unreliable place to get acapellas
It’s about to be 2024 I’m gonna need an easier way of doing this lmaoooo
5:56 , I can't set my hot cue next to a grid. It automaticly goes onto the grid.
Turn off quantize and it will allow you

Phil seems like a lot of stress, you can do this in Ableton in a fraction of the time, then export to WAV to play in any DJ software
Nice Video👌📹
What do you use to download the acapella from CZcams
Clipgrab
Neural Mix Pro
Lmao haters just deal with it 😂❤️ love
2021 and still cant find an easy acapella maker. how can i make my own acapellas? any thoughts anyone?
Virtual DJ is good enough at it that you can do it live now. I use it a lot.
@@AJ_UK_LIVE thx for the reply! does the free home version do the job?

2023 now u just rip the original straight :)
Acapella are dead. Stems baby!!
