My husband and I taught at the UAE University 25 years ago. We lived just north of the Jimi mall, so near where you are. We loved it there!! When we came, we were put up in the Hilton for week which gave us time to get situated. We were also lucky enough to have bought the furnishings of the teacher whose flat we moved into, so didn’t have much that we needed to go out and find. That was a great help, especially with three kids. We had such fun finding things like dishes at the souq. I really miss Al Ain.
Why did you leave?
Really nice apartment. Thanks much for the store links.
Omg hi I used to be one of your students at Kempsford!!!!!!!! You were the best teacher im in year 5 now!!!!!!😱😱😱
Thank you so much for the video 📸 keep going ☺️
I was born and raised for almost 18 years and moved to another country but still miss Al ain
Awesome Apartment 🎈🎉
We lived in Al Ain 2017-2019 , nice place with so much greenery and no humidity . Now we are in Ajman 🇦🇪
Welcome to al ain. The best and safest place to be. 🤗👍. After spending a long time here and then going back to your home country, you would diffinatly want be wanting to go back to al ain. It will be your second home
Hi Alex, you came up on my feed. New subbie here. I used to teach in Al Ain too. Love that place very much.
@@unforgetable314 heyyy. When will you start in Al Ain? I have also been offered a job and start in August!!😍
It's looking good! Love the cupboard space in the bedroom, I'm jealous!😁
For once I can’t fill all the space (at the moment) 😂
I lived in Al Ain in 2012 and lived off Tuwam roundabout in a two story apartment complex. The bureaucracy was maddening, my students were the sweetest I have ever had, and the drivers were crazy as hell.
I’m coming to al ain tomorrow to apartment shop! I’ve been in rak for the past three years ☺️
Nice apartment tour
Hi...I am new to your channel....nice home tour...may soon you get all things and appliances for your home....how long does it take to finalize the job offer....do the schools in Al Ain offer staff ward discounts...make a little video on life of a teacher in Al Ain...looking forward to relocation.
Cool apartment
Nice ! New subscriber in Al Ain
Looks like Al Jimi area, my dad lived in the area for last 15 years, now moved to Jahili park area.
I would highly recommended the heritage village coffee shop for amazing fresh food and the best Lemon & Mint you will ever taste!
It is indeed Al Jimi! I’ll have to go and check that place out! Thank you.
@@TheNomadicTeacher my school is in front of jimi mall
Brilliant vid 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Where do you sell your stuff when you move back home
Thank you for the tour through your apartment
Hello Alex, next week I'm moving to Abu Dhabi to start a new career in teaching, any advice for the first few days?
Hello!!
I saw you and your wife in Rugby Club😊
You are very friendly!
Thank you! I assume that was at the faire?
please show us from where you purchased second hand stuff...thanks
Hey I am in Jimi too, may catch up sometime for walk, I have an idea we work for same group of school
Hey, this is a swell apartment. Mind telling me the name of the apartment, as I am looking for a place too?
Sir how much is your package not exact just can tell range ? and total expense in AL Ain for month
Please do a shopping vogue
How much did the school give you to furnish your apartment? Like for a bed, sofa, washing machine, to etc must have cost a lot, so just curious as I’m thinking of teaching in Dubai, and I’d like to know all the ins and outs, I understand it differs for everyone but your personal experiences at least gives me some idea of what is possible :) thanks!!
Hi Hannah - my school gave me 8000dh, but as you say, every school offers different things.
Hi Alex
I have few questions
Can you send me your email?
What area in al ain? Im in al khibeesi
Your apartment is really nice! Doing mine up now :)
I’m near Al Jimi
Hie Alex. I hope you doing well in al ain. My question is how much gym fees cost der? And how much an average person expend on expenses every month in al ain?
Gyms vary in cost… I would say average for the year is 1500-2000 AED which is about £400
Expenses per month depends on your lifestyle… whether you have car finance etc. it’s costs about 400dh for wifi, 300-500dh for electric..
Is that Al Ain Hospital? In the far left when you were outside your building?
Yes
Please where can l do teaching training in Alain
Was in Qatar earlier this year and each appt has a gym and pool. How about in Al Ain?
Sadly not in Al Ain, many apartments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi do though.
Sir, can u tell the name of your apartment and exact location. We are searching houses for rent.
can you please share your apartment rent and which estate agent assist you in getting your beautiful home
I left al ain in 2012
How much are the expenses monthly, I.e. water/electricity/phone etc. also how much was the car?
This depends on what your school offers as some offer these expenses too…
I paid my phone bill for the year which cost me around 2000aed
Electricity/water is around 300-500aed for the month (time of year depending and household depending)
Car costs vary - hire cars likely cost minimum of 1700aed a month but if you’re buying you can get finance or pay in cash. Fuel is very cheap.. a full tank currently costs me 150AED.
Sir....Iam looking forward for a teaching job there in Abudhabi....Do schools provide free accomodation??or do they give importance for applicants who own husband's family visa?
Teachers will have a package that should include accommodation, yes… the standard of the accommodation will vary from school to school.
@@TheNomadicTeacher thank you sir for the reply
What did you sleep/sit on before you got your furniture?
My school put me in a hotel until I furnished my apartment
Hi @alex. Are the apartments dog friendly? Thanks for the nice video.
Some are, others aren’t.. it’s up to the building managers and landlords
@@TheNomadicTeacher Thanks for the info. I hope I find a dog friendly villa there. I'm moving in a few months.
@@drsamuel villas will likely be different.. apartments might not be dog friendly due to the other residents..
@@TheNomadicTeacher Yeah. I was hoping to take an apartment and save some cash but if dogs are not allowed i will have to spend more the villa i think. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.
Hello sir what’s the name of your appartment? We’re gonna move in al ain by march..
It’s a fairly new building near Al Jimi
How much is your rental? Does it include water and electricity?
I noticed that you are a little too discreet with information that is a little personal such as the exact name or address of your building and the amount of rent that you (or your school) pay. However, I will go ahead and ask my question anyway and if I get an answer fine; if not, that is also fine. I was interested in knowing which school you are teaching in since that apartment looks like a rather expensive apartment. I thought I had it good when I was given a studio/efficiency in a wonderful area of the city that I call "downtown". It was only a ten minute walk from Khalifa street. But, to be given such a nice ONE BEDROOM apartment near Jimi Mall is a different matter. Obviously the school where you are teaching is very generous with its teachers when it comes to providing them with free accommodation. So, I just wanted to know which school this is. I have no intention of applying to any schools in Al Ain and my question about the identity of your school is simple curiosity. I taught at Al Dhafra Private Schools during the 2009-10 school year and I absolutely detested teaching secondary school. I LOVED Al Ain (my second favorite city in the WORLD!) and I loved the school, but I could not handle secondary school students and their lack of discipline. Therefore, Al Ain and secondary school teaching are both behind me. Hence, my question is due to simple curiosity. If you would like to answer me I would be very happy to hear from you; if you prefer to be discreet about it I will understand.
I will still keep my school private but I can say my apartment costs 30k dirham a year. I feel that’s a fairly average price in Al Ain.. I know people who top up for nicer living options (newer apartments/villas) etc.. also if you lived in Dubai the cost of accommodation is considerably higher, and schools still provide their teachers with this for free (for the most part)..
@@TheNomadicTeacher Although you did not answer MY question, you answered the question by the person who wanted to know how much your rent was. I would like to thank you, nonetheless, for having acknowledged my comment and taken the time to respond. Enjoy the BRIGHTNESS (NOT the sunshine, but that incredible BRIGHTNESS) of Al Ain which used to make me want to sprout wings and just fly over the city!! Best wishes in your teaching.
@@TheNomadicTeacher Hey Alex, I am moving to Al Ain this year, would you mind sharing what area this is so I can look into moving there please?
@@MQBEAUTYXX this is Al Jimi, nice area.
@@TheNomadicTeacher thank you so much. Can u recommend any estate agents to help find a property?
Could you please provide me the real estate agency contact ? Cause I will move very soon to Al ain , and which is the good , affordable and decent area to live in near UAE university where I going to work ? Thanks in advance
My school provides my accommodation… so I don’t have a contact as such. My recommendation would be to stay in a hotel for your initial stay and look online.
With which School you are working???
Nice one, Subscribed. Please keep'em comin...i hope tattoo is allowed ...
Hi,
How did you get the job or which agency did you work with
Hey! I looked for my job on TES and teachingabroad. I didn’t work with an agency. If you look from November onwards, schools will start advertising for the following year.
@@TheNomadicTeacher Hello. I am currently looking to teach in the UAE. How long did it take you to find a teaching position? Nice apartment.
