Hiring Jade was one of the best choices Dave has ever made.

Wish they actually went into the numbers of the budget instead of just feel good fluff motivation. Eg she worked so hard her fingers were sore. Like she was asked what was her most lucrative side hustle, voice lessons. Ok how much were you making per month/year doing that. How much was the annual income from the main jobs. What was her husband doing as his main job. To pay off 260k of debt in 7.5 years, probably need to be putting somewhere around 3k at it each month which is an additional expense in the budget. Top line monthly income, second line taxes, third debt payoff, fourth rent/mortgage, fifth living expenses. If 3k is 3rd line, likely need an income that supports 3k in taxes a month so about 11-15k a month.

My friend from work, introduced me to Dave Ramsey 7-8 years ago. My finances were a mess! I saved and saved, and at the same time, was putting an equal amount of monthly mortgage towards the principal.
I paid off my house on 17 April, four days shy before my 60th birthday. I am retiring end of April this year, and I am debt free.
But on my birthday, my water heater tank started leaking. đ

This is so inspirational. I have just started with the baby steps early this year and have paid off 3 of our debts as of this month! We still have a long way to go but Iâm so thankful with our little progress.â€ïž
The middle part of paying off debt gets tedious. Seems like youâll never get to the end. Agree that celebrating your progress is so important. Iâm at a midpoint and feel like quitting. This video has been encouraging

Next month I will pay off my third of 12 debts. I love this story because it shows about side hustles leaning into your wheelhouse! Iâve been hesitant about side hustling because Iâve been rejected for a few jobs due to hours or days of availability. Iâve never had this struggle before so the perseverance Jade shows is super encouraging!!

Can you imagine if they continued the same intensity to save after? I feel motivated. I am on baby step 3! Working overtime at my regular job and 16 hours a week at a second job. Thank you ladies for bringing this conversation up. Iâm a single mom of a 16 year old. Only regret I have now is not having her college fund.
You are doing great! Seeing you work so hard will teach her through example and she will find ways to go to college without loans. She can do work study, scholarships, americorp, or be a resident assistant in the dorms to get free room and board. Or just go to school slowly and pay for it as she can. I got through my Masters degree with no debt.

Who is to say that kids wants go college. Guide them in life skills trust me I would not focus on degree and would not have six figures debt

@@NicolinaBruno we don't buy clothes normally. I wear scrubs snd uniforms. We just went on vacation and bought new summer clothes. Spent about $300 from our fun funds.

Jade is married. Youâre divorced. Itâs way easier to pay off debt when youâre married to a husband who helps you financially. Your best bet is to put your ex husband on child support and try getting alimony if youâre legally entitled to it.

I hadn't listened in a very long time. One day I saw a clip come up for the show and there was a new person. I thought: Hey, what the heck, I'll listen. SO GLAD I DID. Jade is the perfect piece to the DR puzzle.
I really needed to hear this; I was tripping off of our 40k debt. God wanted me to hear this, I sent this episode to my wife and we are going to work towards killing our debt. Man, I love Rachel, and thanks so much Jade. Our situation is nothing compared to where you came from. This was extremely encouraging. We're going to do the baby steps.

I am absolutely amazed at Jade and Christina. I â„ their stories, determination, strength and enthusiasm. They paid around $61,000/ year on this debt ! I would love to listen to an indepth interview with Jade and Sam to hear more about their debt free journey together.
Iâm a musician and the arts are very expensive. At first, I didnât understand that kind of debt, but Jade said that she was in the arts. I also did side hustles. Iâm debt free too. Itâs just a shame that she had that kind of debt. However Iâm glad her family got out of it.
Anger is a secondary emotion. There is always an emotion you feel first before you get angry.

Love your show and of course the Dave Ramsey show as well! Paid off our car loan (our last debt) in January this yearđ Did not really follow baby steps in order, but we were able to buy a house back in 2020 (which Iâm glad we did), with such low interest. We put down 20% and got a 15 yr mortgage. We are debt free except for our mortgage. Our goal now is either pay off our mortgage as fast as we could, or just keep on saving since we are also planning to buy a rental property.

Sold our truck and used the 22k we got from the sale to buy an older car with no payment and used the 5500 we had left to pay off 1 credit card. We then looked at our interest rates and moved some debt around. We had a card at 18% so we moved it to a heloc that was at 8%. It didn't pay off that debt, just moved it, but saves all of that interest. Also we were already paying the on the heloc and the payment doesn't change so we freed up that extra money that was going to that card and can now throw that to our smallest card.

I wish they taught more about debt management in schools. My husband and I learned through life and it took us a lot longer but we did it. It took me 15 years of working retail to pay off my kids three years each of their college.I wanted them to have a good start. Better than us. We did become debt free till our 60s. Iâm still worried about inflation in all areas of life.
