Back to back Eagles/Cowboys games. This one was on MNF. I think it's the last 1970s MNF game I have left. Put the ads in for this one in between quarters. Staubach's final MNF game.
Great days. I was 12 and an Eagles fan even though I loved Staubach. I was so into football back then. Football was everything. Classic Dallas lineup. Eagles on the rise. I totally remember Franklin’s 59 yard field goal. That was a big moment.
That was one of the very few rare times that the Eagles would win in Dallas in the 70's. It also showed that the Eagles were getting better and better each year.
Thanks for fucking up the end of the game. Your comment was unnecessary and likely the product of an asshole who prematurely ejaculates on whatever sleeps with him.
This game is the reason I became a lifelong eagles fan, I was 12 and all my friends were cowboys fans because they liked word Cowboys then I saw a barefoot guy kick a field goal from midfield😊
A very painful loss, maybe in my all-time top 10. Been a Cowboys fan since 77. The Franklin FG motivated the Eagles even more. The Cowboys returned the favor in Philadelphia.
@@michaelleroy9281in the “weak tea” NFC, this was definitely the strongest division. In 1979, the NFC had been batted around like a whiffle ball in that decade. Minnesota and Dallas were in all but one Super Bowl in that decade. Only Washington was in any other (1973). AFC won the decade 8-2, with Dallas winning those 2.
No it actually made sense then because shoe technology improved. Barefoot kickers actually got more distance back then. But modern shoes made them irrelevant.
Fantastic Game!
Dorsett vs Montgomery two of my favorites back then
And Staubach and Tony Hill Show out 💪🏈💪

I didn’t see the Eagles beat the Cowboys till this game. I remember watching it with my Dad on a Monday Night. I was 9.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank god it was the last season
It was also Hollywood Henderson's last season in Dallas.
First time the Eagles won at Texas Stadium
The game that made me an Eagles Fan when I was 10 years old.
I was 9 at the time, Cowboys fan. This game made me despise the Eagles.
1980 nfc championship was a tough loss for cowboy fan. it would have made a cowboy-raider superbowl-what everybody

Former Cowboys RB Walt Garrison doing his SKOAL commercials
R.I.P. Walt Garrison
Wow.. look at those commercials.....before my time.
The barefoot kicker era came and went, and never made sense in the first place.

Made sense ti very sore toes a feet
Totally wrong with h of a horse
it made a lot of sense. Those kickers did well!
