I wasn't planning on buying one but watching this video makes me kinda want one. It looks pretty capable out of the box and could be really capable with minimal upgrades. The four wheel steer looks fun and adds another dimension to crawling with the 1/24s.

It may have been a Rocky start, but Axial is going to sell a lot of these when people start seeing them crawling, and get a chance to drive them. Ha ha as I was typing you guys started talking about people test driving them and then buying. ✌

Awesome video Tony! I also ordered one in green from my hobby shop because you can't beat the crabwalk ability an 4 wheel steer. It's definitely a comp truck. It's awesome especially in the Green look but ill probably get wheels for it an tires. I already have your diff covers too. The dog bones will probably be upgraded as well with new servos

Hi Tony! I honestly think this will be a great platform that's more performance oriented. I have always preferred performance over scale looks personally. Looks are cool, but I prefer my trucks to perform well over how they look. I have the Gladiator and the Bronco and they are beautiful trucks and I totally upgraded them both from top to bottom but honestly I like this platform better because of the 4 wheel steer, lighter body, better performance potential, I definitely will add one to my mini truck collection! Great video brother! 💯🤜🤛
It’s dope man. 4ws options from factory r nice. Put some weight like diff covers, knuckles, wider hexes, beadlocks and it’s a beast. Swap a rear steer on your gladiator too!!

It took a few day's to get me to stop rolling this thing over but once I got the hang of it I was the roll over king no mo! It is my weakest mini crawler but those bad azz rock lights got me hooked, got a bunch of Axial's now but surprisingly enough I didn't get another XC1. I don't run any of my trucks with mods I figure if someone made it to run like that out the box I will oblige them and meet their challenge, have fun you guy'z enjoy and be careful.

Watching this makes me consider the 4WS 1/10th Capra. Good video Tony. The 4WS looks like it introduces another fun dynamic to RC.
Bought the capra currie the week it came out the best rc I’ve ever owned for crawling get some metal rims and tcl boggers and it will go anywhere pretty much.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for my 5yo nephew. He likes my scx24 bronco, but it's a pig stock and needed lots of weight down low. I'd like to get him something capable that doesn't need upgrades out of the box. This thing looks like a winner.
Flips over easy. I totally removed all the shocks and added a travel limiter to the front axle. Lost a little ground clearance but still articulates well. Made it 10x better. Adding aluminum beadlocks and some injora (KLR knock-offs) next
Great review on an excellent car. U removed shocks or springs? Did u use fish line on center of front axle to tie front end down & limit travel? Have u tried brass knuckles, diff covers and beadlocks? Super good mods

I started with an ax24 then got the scx. I would recommend modding the scx first the ax takes some doing to get to a capable point. That said once you brass out the ax it becomes a beast.
I would want a stand-alone lever because then I could use just rear steer if I needed it. That would be the main advantage I would see. The learning curve might be a bit tougher than just clicking a button and then turning a wheel, but it gives you a 4th steering option. That alone outweighs the "learning curve" I think.
Cool idea. These Stock electronics r better then the switch for adding 4ws to a scx24

Back in the day , I had the original AX-10 , flip the shocks upside down , & turn the steering servos around for behind the axle steering ......this will give you more weigt down low without sacrificing grond clearence & give you more clearence at the axle ,ie rocks hitting steering link , . If you run springs do firm in the rear , it will still flex , but it will climb 100% better & eliminate torque twist when climbing , run medium springs up front this will keep it from rolling on steep desents , Also cut each tread block in half so it's like spreading apart from itself like fingers way more grip , that's my 2 cents worth of knowledge for you , have fun !
Hey Tony, great video. Informative as always. You could try the shock mod by Texoma RC. I think it will control shock unloading and lower the rig ride height a bit. Best of all, it's a FREE mod. We all love FREE! :)

I ran mine for about 10min and man is the CG really high. It is very balanced front to back. The high CG coupled with the long shocks make it pretty easy to tip. Other than that, the typical SCX24 horrible sloppy steering links. Already put upgraded steering links and that made a HUGE difference in steering slop. I am looking to relocate the ESC lower but not sure if that will be possible. Will see later today if a larger 050 motor will fit. I don't have your baby goliath but my other 050 measure a bit longer than the area it needs to go without hitting the links. I don't think it will due to the rear link location. Other than that its going to be a really fun RTR to upgrade and run.

I finally get my SCX24 setup pretty decent, make a couple vids with it, and bam, they drop this lol.
You can just unglue the tires and then mount them on different wheels.

Hey Tony if u go to Walmart in the hair section get u a pack of goodie rubber bands they are assorted size’s add the shortest to the front next size to rear and I guarantee that it will help that rig stop being so floppy 🔥😎👍

Do you think a complete Furitek upgrade would work in the AX24? Interested in going brushless and getting electronics as small as possible to shave weight on top. Does the 3rd channel make it more difficult to do?

I got mine yesterday. It's cute. It needs a LOT of work to be truly excellent, but I expected that. The shocks are AWFUL... already ordered some new ones. The servos are extremely weak (ordered servos too). Upside is a LOT of SCX24 parts will fit this thing. I'm trying to figure out which Furitek parts I need to do their motor swap and then use an FS-BS6 receiver so I can control the rear steering separately.
What shocks u order? Scx ones?
use a heat gun to loosen the glue and safely remove the tires from the wheels :)
You said it was a Spektrum, will it bind to a DX6i?

They should have re-released the 1/10 AX10. Hopefully if this version sells well they will.

I'm looking at getting one for Christmas. Do they all come with 4 wheel steering? Another question is is there a difference between the different bodies, are all the chassis the same?
AX24 are 4 wheel steer in either orange or green. The SCX24 models have different chassis and are only 2 wheel steer.

Redcat did this first with the sumo line back in 2012
They did. From what I've seen though, 1/24 didn't take off until the SCX24. So using that platform to go back and re-introduce a comp crawler style 1/24 is timed well and using available upgrades from their popular lineup.
It’s just the body and tires I don’t like but tires get replaced regardless. I totally get the guys that love it because they had the 1/10 scale version or if you just love it because you do I don’t blame ya, just not my taste
But the real question is... can we make a monster truck out of it?

Width same as sx24 as it has identical axles. Not sure on arm lengths
Kool Review Brother, but I just wish they get off these 24th scale stuff, parts are to hard to work with. Drop a nut, washer, etc say good bye!
Why? Tons of people like them. You’ll get what they got coming for the bigger stuff. They haven’t really innovated with these yet. It’s been lipstick on a pig for years. Same chassis with a new body. Zero design time. This is a new item for us. Let us have what we want every once in a while and you’ll get yours soon.

The links are not the same length as the other Axial 1x24's unfortunately.
Correct. It was redesigned with similar length front and rears and a different mounting point.

How does it compare to the Fms fcx 24?
FCX24 wasn’t great out of the box. I got a false sense of hope on my little course I had, but on this track it wasn’t good at all. Especially with stock tires. I haven’t used it since trying it at reaction. Not my favorite platform. I’d rather run the SCX24, TRX4m or HobbyPlus.

HEY MR CCX RC . HAVE A QUESTION. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU HAD THE PROBLEM WITH THE Traxxas TRX4 M mini crawler With the O Rings Falling out. I know there’s the stink wrap fix. But are there OTHER HACKS TOO DO. OR IF YOU HAD THAT PROBLEM. IM NOT REALLY GOING TO CRAWL MUCH WITH IT. MAINLY TRAILING. SORRY TO BE OFF SUBJECT.
