    As a copywriter for over a decade, I noticed that Matthias' headline, CTA and overall copy were more on point. Moreover, the copy is placed strategically. I'd say that's the reason for the higher conversion and not JUST the design.

      I love Matthias use of complimentary colours.

      @kjellruben Před 3 lety +9

      I was thinking the same. If the test was testing UI, the copy should have been all the same. This is more of a communication test. Would love to see the results from this split into two tests :)

    • @denniszenanywhere
      @denniszenanywhere Před 3 lety +1

      @@kjellruben I'd be curious to know if they did another test with Matthias' copy on the other design, meaning both with the same copy, which would mean a slight change in the design for the other one. Then test again to see who converts more. I've done some UX writing and copy on an app and a team can easily miss the point of a copy if they're focused on the design.

      Right.
      To me it struck me more as a landing page than just a website.
      Action-orientated copy, simple and direct.

    The copy writing for the second one is better thats why it had more conversation rate than the first.The first one had a better design,I think in web design copy writing is more important than the design itself.

    Cool project. But they get to choose between 5 A/B tested designs and only pay 1K? This is the worst deal I have seen and has nothing to do with fairness or what you preach on this channel.

    • @attrapehareng
      @attrapehareng Před 3 lety

      probably because the redesign are made by students... It's more like they agreed to be the guinea pig of a student contest.
      I have a friend that has made a one year paid formation for digital marketing (paid by the job center but still something like 15k€ per students), and they had "clients" as part of the course. So the client she had (with a group of 2 other students) paid something like 300€ total and had 3 students (but adult student, with already work experience for all of them) working for them for like days - I think each students spent at least 50 hours on helping the client with their marketing, SEO, social media... And they just had to pay 300€ (in Germany).

      If there's anything that the internet also unleashed is the fact that it's easier to connect with anyone and anyone can mean someone who would be game to do anything for peanuts. I remember being on the receiving end of job applications in the early 2000s versus now and the amount of applications submitted online must have grown ten-fold. I could receive a resume for one job position from 1,000 applicants in 24 hours. It's a win for businesses, it's not for a salaried person.

    as someone who used to test systems and communicate with IT on behalf of the end user, I find it so odd that it's always the management who has the final say and the biggest opinion in this matter. when ultimately, it is not him/her who uses the platform/system. Im only starting to learn ux/ui now, and I will always keep in mind of who the end user actually is, and not the owner who funds the project.

  • @BoffinNZ
    @BoffinNZ Před 3 lety +12

    Don't really like the idea of this, you have to pay for a course to enter, to win only $1000 and the other business gets a number of designs and only has to pay a small fee... not so cool

    • @maguipezzm692
      @maguipezzm692 Před 3 lety +6

      You don't have to pay it... You pay if you want to learn. STUDENTS is the key Word. Then you have this kind of oportunity.
      $1000 for a student is ok.
      I wish teachers at college had ask for payment for "real design work" we made to real Clients hahahha.

    The "simplicity growing on me" shows why amateurs throw everything at the screen they can find = more is better. You can spend days explaining to clients that it's not.(unless you follow a design system).
