The sheer amount of shade that James can throw effortlessly is astonishing.
No wonder he has a "Sassy" mug 😁
Given that there's an episode where he got sunburnt inside, you'd think he'd keep all that shade for himself.
The Pasta maker, though a bit pricey, is good!
All others a strict no-no .. £100 is not worth keeping my coffee warm.. and the other two were simply useless ..
Excellent video like always though.. so glad to see James in the studio 👏🏼
When you mean to comment on the video and reply to a comment instead...whoops!
Dedj Deraladin wait what? Oh I gotta see this... what episode?
Seeing y'all and seeing the studio is like seeing an old friend you never knew how much you missed. Thank you all for what you do!
I completely agree, this is EXACTLY how I felt as well, and came here to say as much, but you’d already done it for me!!
They were going to redesign the studio but have not heard anything in quite awhile. I thought they would take this down time to work on designs and maybe get some of the work done.
My boss's son has a bar in north central Wisconsin. During the shut down he complete tore out his worn out & inefficient beer cooler and rebuilt it. Something he was not able to do being open seven days a week.
As an accountant, I want that mug for all the late hours I'm stuck at the office.....as an accountant I would not advise purchasing a cup for 170 CAD
Just... Get one of those cup warmer mug holders. Those are cheap af on amazon
@@joeqiao1691 They also do literally nothing. At best, an expensive one will heat the handle of your mug until it scalds you, while leaving the coffee cold.
I just cheat and have a coffee maker at my desk.
www.amazon.ca/Farm-Innovators-QT-1-1-Quart-Heated/dp/B0053H89SA/
I spent like 20 bucks on what is essentially a hot plate that I rest my coffee on. It's induction heating and it keeps my coffee hot perpetually. Only downside is it needs a mug that can make use of the induction heating. My go-to mug is metallic so it wasn't an issue for me, but I'm not sure how well it works with thicker ceramic mugs.

i find it super cute that James’s mug says “SASSY” and his “I didn’t choose the mug, the mug chose me 💁🏼♀️”
13:40 his "yasssss" 😂
James alone in the studio... I have feeling it's one of two things: a dream come true because for once no one gets in the way. Or the worst nightmare because it's just not the same without the others goofing around off camera
I think it's both.
It's a dream come true for me. James is great, his talent fills that room easily.
But who does the clean up?
@@JHNielson4851, how much could there be? Two glasses, two mugs, a spoon, a knife, a bowl, a saucepan, the cutting board and the pasta machine.
I think James enjoyed it at least
If Barry can steal the Pizza Oven, I think it's only fair to let James have the Pasta maker. He seems to have formed an attachment to it. :)
Oh, I think Mike should get it. Have you seen the 100 layer lasagna video? 😳
@@iluvdissheet it doesn't make sheet pasta!
@@garrettanderson4386 true....I just think anyone who makes fresh pasta for 100 layers deserves a pasta maker.
😂😂😂 ... attachment to it. That's a good one 🤣🤣🤣
I want one but can't afford it, yet.
Jamie filming in his daughter's room is the cutest thing.
You assume it's his daughters' room... 🎠
Ha! 🤣
You can who doesnt have any interior design sense by comments like these.
@@krablord there's a difference between having an aesthetically pleasing room with quality furniture and wallpaper and having a room full of things your child likes and wants in their living space. unless you're complimenting the design of the room and you think it's Jamie's. hard to tell lol
So it's not the bedroom? Oh good...
I have the Ember mug, and it is worth every penny. As a teacher, I am constantly pouring my tea or coffee and then not getting to return to it for 20-30 minutes, and in a regular mug it’s never hot. The Ember mug means I always have hot tea or coffee, ready to drink and never tasting like it was forgotten somewhere. 127/10, better than I ever imagined.
Wait, so James got 2 beers, 2 coffees and made himself a pasta meal? Living the dream
3 beers he stuffed one of the pours up didn't he?
#quarantinegoals
There were 4 cans on the counter originally
And cause yt is a job hes being paid
Of course you need a cloche. I can't believe anyone would think you wouldn't need a cloche
I love how gleefully excited James was when he realized he knew the answer to Jamie's dad joke.
Minute 10:11 “It’s working! It’s working” the most funny and excited James I’ve seen yet is 😆hilarious!
I love how they are still doing the whole reveal portion with the cloche.
The cloche is the most important part of gadgets that don't fit under the cloche
Sticking to the format keeps us civilized.
I have to ask, did you have to look up cloche for the spelling?
Trevor Perry: I had to double check it (my original thought on how to spell it was correct) but my phone kept changing it to cliche.
Format is format.
I introduced my mom, an enthusiastic cook and an English teacher, to pass it on and she binged the whole thing! She loves Ben and is slightly worried about Barry.
"slightly worried about Barry" :-D :-D :-D
We're all slightly worried about Barry lol
Why is the Sorted comment section always the best to read out of all other communities on YT?? So positive, funny and relatable
Rate them? One is a pasta machine that makes fresh pasta easily how can any other product compete with it? I just bought one thanks to you and 3 days delevery feels to long!
Please update :)
Have you got it yet???
It's been 3 months. We are curious.
Hope it works well :)
@xrint Ohhh is it any good?? 😁
You can tell that they miss each other, how wholesome. Cheesiness aside, I like how many of the videos prefaces are just Ben going "I was bored so entertain me"
Alas, house plants aren't thrilling conversationalists and he's flying solo. 😂
I thought ben had a wife or at least a girlfriend?
How to makes James’ day: give him a fresh pasta dish. How to ruin James’ day: give him a $100 coffee mug
A hundred POUNDS, so it's about 122 dollars. Useless or not? You decide. :D
How to ruin his week: make that coffee mug start sending spam e-mail to his phone.
A $100 coffee mug that requires signing up, to be precise 😅
Seriously, a coffee warmer plate is maybe $10-15, and you don't need to set up an email.
NiNi Na sorry I’m from Aus. Forgot about the conversion 😅
The pasta maker is literally the only one of those things I'd give kitchen room to.
I had the exact same experience as him with finding an egg piercer on a timer. When it happened to me I felt like the worlds biggest idiot. Seeing the honorable Chef James falling victim to the same devious contraption restores my faith in myself.
That egg timer made me angry because my first instinct is to slam my hand on top of it for giggles and I’ll absolutely injure myself.
Why is that your first instinct!?
@@lux0rd01 HULK SLAM
@@lux0rd01 Because that's what their parents did when they were little.
To be fair it looks like from the top view that it starts in a locked position that wouldnt let the needle come up- and that it's only unlocked once you move it to one of the egg consistency choices. But James eagerly fiddled with it and got pricked
Its truly brought me a lot of comfort that videos are back in the studio. Sorta helps you see a light at the end of the tunnel you know?
Can i just say that shot at 13:00 of Ben made my heart feel so warm for some reason 🥺
The coffee mug confused me too James. I wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing my email with an app just for a hot coffee or tea.
Yet here you are, commenting on CZcams video about the mug, owned by Google who have a million times more information on you than that app.
I have a junk email from when I was 12 that I use for all those kinds of things.
@@TheMrVengeance don't forget his smartphhone, and multiple cameras and mics already in his house
@@TheMrVengeance Nowadays it's not uncommon to use a VPN, to opt out of data collection and to use a junker email.
If you're not doing those things, that's on you.
@@skilletborne If you think Google isn't able to link you and your junk account together based on their metrics and data you're incredibly naive. But that's on you.
James unwrapping the gadgets is a whole mood 🤣🤣 look at how his eyes light up when he rips the paper apart!
I think we’re all in need of a pick me up and Judgmental James during these hard times
Although I wouldn’t call James judge mental more that he is very picky. Or better yet knows what he likes!
I never knew I needed to hear James say "head" over and over again but here we are
My husband has not one but 2 Ember mugs, one for home and one for work. He loves them so much! He is a weirdo and will not drink his coffee unless it's the prefect temp. I thought it was the perfect gift for someone like him!
James screaming "YAAAAS!" when he gets to eat the pasta is all of us right now.
Erin Spangler I read your comment EXACTLY at the same time as he said it!
He didn't choose the mug; the mug chose him.
Has dear James lost weight? He looks very thin to me in the shots around 10:05
The pasta machine is quite impressive. I'd love to see you use it on a future video. Maybe when things mellow out, it'd be a good choice for a Pass It On?
Pasta it On
Too bad that it mysteriously disappeared after filming and has been secretly living in someone's kitchen cupboard ever since...
This needs to happen! I also would want a more critical/in-depth review of how the pasta tastes since the dough isn't rested versus store-bought and traditional homemade pasta.
Definitely need more! Also, is it under another name in the USA? Price not bad considering what & how it does it! And the speed! Can’t even cook a boxed pasta that fast in an instant pot at 2 minutes HP, al dente!
1/2 Italian here, I'm not convinced by the plastic nozzle, won't last too long IMO. Dough mixer seems overly vigourous, too many (fragile and brittle?) transparent plastic parts. Flour SUPER-IMPORTANT, not just any flour. Should be "Farina di semola di grano duro tipo 00" which is fairly ubiquitous in Europe and, I assume, the U.S. Does it only make egg pasta, or also "normal", shop-bought dry pasta made with water?
Either way, a little grate of nutmeg in the flour does wonders.
Price seems OK for what one seems to get, looks a little flimsy to me. I use a venerable SIMAC Pastamatic which is loud as hell and a pain to clean, but uses industrial grade plastics and bronze pasta shape discs, works like a charm, haven't used it in years...
That mug looks like a kickstarter trap in the worst way, designed by a bunch of tech nerds rather than professional kitchenware designers. Instead of just a temperature dial or touchpad, it uses a needlessly complex app and if you ever can't get the app to work (for instance when they stop updating it for IOS 124 or Android 92) it becomes just a mug. It probably uses a thermocouple and a microchip which is unnecessarily accurate and expensive instead of a bi-metalic coil and a simple circuit (like a toaster) which costs cents to make and would work just fine. A power button on the bottom of the mug instead of a switch on the handle or a button on the base means you can't turn it off and use the base as a coaster when it has drink in it and if you set the mug down a little too hard or on a sharp corner you can damage it. It has no lid to insulate and reduce power usage and heat loss or for saving your drink for later which at that price is ridiculous.
You could probably grab a $35 cordless electric kettle which probably costs $15 to make, modify it with a bi-metal coil and a dial from a toaster, and make a better product at a third of the price. It holds more liquid, has a lid and pour spout, and all you need to do to turn it on is flip a switch and dial it in to your favorite temp.
It seems to me like, unlike experienced kitchenware designers who tackle a problem with a limited prototyping budget and a design goal trying to consider production costs, complexity, durability, and long-term viability (the more complex it is the more it costs, the more stuff can break, and apps have to be updated) they had a massive budget for a product that didn't exist and just decided to over-buid it with unnecessary buttons, a trendy app, and charge a huge price because it's a "smart" product.
Except that none of that is true, the mug has been around for ages (notice how it's the Ember II, the first one was made 10 years ago) and been very popular. If you want to Frankenstein a kettle for "a third of the price" go right ahead. But this product is viable, has been around for a decade, and has a definite audience. So go poo-poo on something else from on top your high horse.
Oh god I never realized how much I enjoyed simple and efficient product design until I read through this.
Very well said.
Unfortunately it is a product that has been around a long time and that a lot of people love. I agree with you though, they've made it outrageously costly and unnecessarily finicky. If they were to do a button dial instead of an app to even lower the cost by a bit, I think they would reach a much wider array of consumers.
@@TheMrVengeance exactly.
I need this mug. I get in an endless cycle of reheating and waiting too long for my drink to cool. This mug would save me so much time and money in the long run.
James going “Yaaaaaassssss” is so precious lol
OH MY GOD I HAVE MISSED THE STUDIO SO MUCH i'm so glad James and whoever shot this got to go to the studio, I hope the whole sorted team stay safe
The joy and excitement in James' "It's working, it's working!" is so pure.
"I'm still upset about the app" lol James is awesome.
I'd love to see more with the pasta maker- what other shapes it can do, if it works as well if you use your own recipe that has extra things added in, maybe even have a normal or someone who has no idea about making pasta as well using it and see if it's just as easy? It's the kind of thing I'd love to save up for one day- or maybe put on a holiday/bday wishlist.
Yes!! To make green pasta.. to make other types of pasta like pappardelli or something.. probably can make conchigliones as well…
"Hey, this could be good!"
Famous last words, James.
‘Judgemental James’. Sounds like a great children’s book series from Sorted.
NGL, I kinda want to draw that.
A Smidge of Boise Please do! I’d love to see it!
So, judging by James' arms, we can see what he's been doing in lockdown!

A. James and his judging and sass give me life during this stressful time.
B. The sheer delight James shows when opening packages makes me want to send him gifts because that also delights me. I love seeing someone so happy over simple pleasures.

James reviewing gadgets is definitely, 100% what I needed in my life right now.
"Ben, it's not worth it" makes my day, every time!
Ben "it's not worth it" ebbers.
You asked us to rate them :
1.pasta machine
All the others: joint 2nd, way behind.
I'd agree but I'd label the others as 'joint 4th' or 'joint Not'
100% agree! I've never wanted to make fresh pasta but I would with this machine.
For me, in order: Pasta maker, smart mug, egg timer, and beer foamer. I agree, though, the pasta maker is first by a landslide.
The internet mug is a hard 4.
I still wouldn't buy it for that much money, but if I was given all of them, it's the only one I'd ever use!
Freaking LOVE the chemistry all the guys have with one another. Favorite show on youtube.
Ben's smile at the price reveal for the egg timer is pure "yes! You heard me. It was that much"
Yes! Dad Joke of the week is back!
James: Always wants to keep the kitchen clean while cooking.
Also James: *Immediately throws bubble wrap over shoulder onto the floor of his workspace*
Everytime James mentions head, I feel Ebbers inner innuendos trying to come out.
oh man, Bens last pun for the Pasta Maker, perfection.
So is Jamie taking over his daughter’s room to film or is this just a dad joke inspiration?
I want that bed room! I'm jealous of Jamie's daughter, and I'm 27.
Probably the only quiet room in the house.
You may think 'how cute are those shiny stars on the wall behind', but actually those are the "award winning" stickers from all the packages of quality bacon he ate during quarantine, meticulously collected and sticked on there to represent the passage of time in an isolated environment. Remarkable.
I thought he snuck into Ebber's room
It possible that it has the best light and she doesn't use it when she's being homeschooled. My dad when I was little set up a photography studio in my bedroom because he said it was the only room with the light and space and that I didn't use it between 7:15am and 6:00pm. We I ended up learning how to photograph stuff for sell and polish metal to a mirror shine. And he got me fish for my room because they are calmed him when he worked. This is dad logic I have to watch them so we are going to do work together.
Posted while I was binging Sorted’s videos. Perfect timing 👌🏾

I like to think that Jamie just decorates his room like that 😂

That pasta machine looks like a dream come true, for a high ass price
I’m glad Ben didn’t get to say if the first product will “give you head, or give you headache”.
Would've been a great Bennuendo.
that stupidly expensive mug, if you want a way to keep coffee perfect temp while you get distracted buy a wax melter, it's $5 makes a perfect heated coaster.
You can sometimes find them at the dollar store.
Not really a great idea to trust dollar store electrical items. You're asking for a house fire.
But just go on Amazon or whatever and look for "mug warmer". There are hundreds of them out there. You can get ones that just sit at one temperature, ones with multiple temperatures, ones with auto shut-off features, and more. And they don't cost $100 or 100 pounds!
I got one of those warmers for my dad for Christmas since the Ember mug was way outta my price range. Works like a charm and he uses it daily. Definitely worth it lol.
Or just use a thermos. Mine keeps my coffee warm for several hours.
I have the mug and... must admit I really like it. The app is a pain but entirely unnecessary, I haven't bothered to use it in months and I use the mug itself almost every day. Just pour hot liquid in and it turns on, keeps things to the right temperature. It's quite nice for having tea or coffee over a long period of time. Very expensive if you have to buy it for yourself, though, definitely. Easier to clean than a thermos would be, too.
Thanks for keeping up with great videos during lockdown. It makes our Wednesday and Sunday's! Loved seeing James repping a Scottish beer company too 🍺
Always enjoy seeing James review gadgets😍

that pasta maker might be expensive, but for someone who loves freshly-made pasta, that's an absolute game-changer. That's the kind of thing you'd get someone for their wedding that they'd actually get a lot of use out of. and considering it's only 40 bucks more expensive than the cup, it's an absolute steal

Started cooking homemade stuff recently. Made my first Lasagna ever. Your channel and a few others have inspired me to cook because if people like Barry can cook, so can I. It was delicious and I learned that I need to check to see if the noodle and the pan I choose isn't that big of a difference in size as I have an inch of my Lasagna where there's no pasta sheets.
