----------------------------
Timed mode of the very first Bejeweled game
For those of you who never played it before, basically unlike Blitz and 3, you cannot move any gems until they have all settled. And there were no special gems (that was introduced only in Bejeweled 2)
----------------------------
Oddities:
0:48 - No Moves, THEN Level up!
1:18 - ONE move clear, baby!
3:20 - I said, No Moves first, THEN you level up!
8:16 - There was a bug in Bejeweled 1 where if you select a gem while it's doing its no-move refresh, it will still think that you're trying to move the gem when the new board comes down, which comes as an invalid move eventhough none none of the gems on the new board is selected.
"Excellent!"s:
1:19* , 2:57 , 3:07 , 3:37 , 4:07 , 6:00 , 6:24 , 10:22 , 10:30* , 10:57
12:09 , 12:44 , 17:03 , 17:22** , 17:37* , 18:44* , 18:48 , 19:07 , 19:34* , 20:43* , 21:01 , 22:02 , 22:25 , 23:00*

I love bejeweled it brings back all the memories the music is awesome the sounds in it are awesome the graphics are awesome the whole game is awesome more people deserve to know about this awesome game
i think of the way too
Isn't it just amazing
Creeperkiller yep
I HATE CANDY CRUSH fucking copied bejeweled
And get all the credit for it too
Its the classic 2000 sound of the computer!
This video is being recommended to CZcams. 😦
This is by far THE best song for ANY timed mode in Bejeweled as far as I'm concerned. I don't think any of the others sounded determined enough, way too chill compared to sounding this epic.
You can inflate your score by stalling on one level. The timer will go faster and faster, and you should remain in each level until it almost becomes too much for you to handle. The longer you can remain on each level, the more time you'll have to rack up points. However, you'll have to be very patient at first.
+Therm6000 Yes, but more points are available with the fast action when you advance on a level. Jim plays his own way.
Therm6000 this strategy doesn't work so well. You have to know when the timer will start going like in lvl16 or 17, and that's very hard to notice when you're playing, as your focus is on the board, so you can lose if you will not get a big combo here. I saved myself by the fact, that timer stops on 0, I just had to have time to get the gem moving, and I will not get a game over. I reached 549k points on level 24 with this strategy
My record by level is level 28. 476250 points.
I got over 600K with that trick. 700K is also possible, maybe even 800K.
@@softestcat maybe even 7 Million :P
Looking back, it's insane to think just a year ago we barely reached level 28, but now 100s have been reached.
I still remember that game when it was released. It just brings back memories. Then there was bejeweled 2, 3, twist, blitz. It still is fun playing them :)
There is a "No more possible switches" animation effect when you are run out of moves. The gems will fall instead of shuffling. This only affects in Timed mode.
HOLY SHIT! YOU ARE REALLY GOOD OF THIS GAME.
This game looks nostalgia to me. I remember playing this version in my O2 XDA Atom Windows Phone last 2005/2006.
Nicely done! I always get stumped around level 6. (yes, I know I suck)

I wondered where people were finding old versions of Bejeweled like 1.4 and 1.5 in modern times...
...then I got an ENTIRE COLLLECTION of old versions of ancient PopCap titles the next day. They were trials, but I did activate them all.
my luck lol
1:21 Wth?!
That's impressive, the most I ever got was about half of your score, and I only made it to level 15! What really kills me is when I have only like 1-2 movee left and I take forever to find them.
Good Job! I've never been able to make it very far in the original game, I'm much better at Bejeweled 2, Twist, 3, and Blitz. However I still like playing the original from time to time!
I once got 230k playing this game in a cybercafé.
Ruby, can you upload your gameplay of Atlantis Quest please?
Was everything OK with your (you no longer have) Windows XP Lappy around level 16? I spotted abnormalities.
Imperio de AstroPop (1492-1898)
1:22 Perfect Move
12:10 4 x 4. wow!
Good luck trying to take back the record ;)
done, videos coming soon
Man if only I had Bejeweled (Diamond Mine). Welp, time to start looking on Steam!
I bought it on Steam last year, did you get it?
I bought it!
Man that looks weird
Probably because i’m used to playing Bejeweled 3
I just love the newer ones better
2019 ?
+sleetskate it is the original and there is no "special gems" in the original
Creeperkiller
Davon Chambliss yes
memories of bejeweled. I played that when I was 2 years old like a toddler
You can play it since the game was released??? Was you have strength when you're a baby???
@@hieuquocnguyen7645 I think my grandma taught me about this game.
*Bogus!* This thing doesn't have special gems!
That gauge is going down faster than you can make points!
looks like level 16 21 and 22 have been the longest in this video......you're pretty good at this game? what's the farthest you've ever gotten?
9:54 3 times a row. 4
so this was Diamond Mine back in 2000, wonder why PopCap changed it to "Bejeweled"?
Old comment but I guess it is because it won't make a ''copyright'' when it come to title.
Microsoft had a game called Diamond Mines, so they asked PopCap to call Diamond Mine something different. They suggested the name Bejeweled and PopCap actually changed it to that! An advantage of the earlier "Diamond Mine" builds of Bejeweled 1 is that they only require Windows 95, not 98. I have v1.21 installed and working on top of Windows 95 on my Pentium I MMX 266MHz Toshiba laptop, so essentially I can play real deal Bejeweled on Windows 95 ;-)
Because Microsoft.
I Play in Grade 6th is Normal but Weird . ( Windows 7 ) Just 1 year
¡NO HIZO NADA!
Wish I could play this on my Windows 95 laptop but the game has an artificial Windows 98 minimum OS requirement
Why don't you upgrade it to windows 98. It works
I managed to acquire a CD-ROM drive so watch this space ;-)
oh ok. maybe i tried to play it on my surface. but the app wouldn't play it because my RT operating system. but it works on windows 10.
I've been busy lately but I'm going to try XPLite on it since I've found drivers. If it slows it down too much I'll put 98SE on it though :-)
Windows 7 can't run on my Pentium 1 MMX 266MHz with 96MB of RAM, 1MB graphics chip and a 4GB hard drive :-P I will be dual booting 98SE and NT3.51 but I'm waiting on a replacement power brick as the original died just after I fitted a brand new in box genuine battery. Typical!
There are no rare gems or medals to be won
This is original not EA games
rubycored is cool?
Four and a half years later and I nearly beat this run:

PvZ music?
The original Bejeweled came out in 2001, around 8 years before the first Plants Vs. Zombies. It is possible that they may have remixed some of this music and reused it in Plants Vs. Zombies, Bejeweled and PvZ are owned by the same company, PopCap Games.
Ok
so fast
When I was in 5th grade 10 years ago, we were not allowed to play any games on the computers in the classroom, even in our free time. But if we were done early, we could play Diamond Mine. Diamond Mine was on all the computers. We would go home, and after our homework, play Diamond Mine. While we were taking our tests, the teachers would play Diamond Mine.
Bejeweled is the imaginary name invented by Microsoft to make the game sell better.
I do not play Bejeweled. I play Diamond Mine.
Wow! You're older than yesterday!
People can say whatever they want about popcap but they are take shariki as INSPIRATION UNLIKE CANDY CRUSH... Because they were released after POPCAP GOT BOUGHT BY EA
It is pity....
Lol
No powers! Bbbooooooooooo!
Well VN don't love EA games?
This is original game
