Three cryptids in one video! Flatwoods Monster, Bigfoot, and a working payphone!
I almost forgot, that pay phones exist honestly. lol
*Not* gonna lie. lmao
Dang that flatwoods sandwich looks amazing. I'm watching this too close to lunch I guess, haha
Omg I thought so to. So good
Looks at the sandwhich with two bright, glowing eyes.
cryptids are so cool, I think every town should have its own monster
I have lived in WV for 11 years now and never knew of these museums. My daughter will love them. We will have to take a road trip once she is out of school.
I think we can safely say this video sets the CZcams record for number of times the words flatwood and monster are used…another great video! I’m hungry for that calzone sandwich. Yep
Wow a working pay phone! That's as elusive (if not more) as bigfoot!
I go thru Flatwoods and Point Pleasant all the time! In Fallout 76 lol...You even get to fight Mothmen and Flatwoods monters if you find them...it being set in West Virginia is awesome...
Omg a pay phone that works! Almost as rare as a Bigfoot sighting! Lol
The woman museum docent was really great 👍 @ WV Bigfoot Museum. She was so knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic. Thank You, Jacob!
Lol I love how that lady talks like the " The Old Man of the Mountain" AKA. Big FOOT is something real.
Right up the road from me. Good to see you here again!
Who taught Jacob to say kawaii 😂😂
Love you so much dude.
I really liked it when you had the "Choose my Trip" episodes and we got to vote where you went next.
Beautiful artwork from recycled materials
I don't know what's more surprising. Seeing Bigfoot or finding a working payphone.
Gigantapithakiss never heard of one of them before Jacob 🤣, have to say your sandwich looked delightful Thankyou Jacob
West Virginia has to have working public phones because of mountains blocking cellphone reception. My cousin has lived in Heaters her whole life which is a mile up the road neither her or others has seen the monster. I feel they saw something then It got exaugurated.
You’ve definitely gotta go back for the big foot festival, that would be super neat to see and the lady seemed really nice and friendly.
You should have called Adam the Woo using the pay phone! He loves them too. You would’ve made his day!
I wish someday there be an ASMR role-playing video based on the Flatwoods monster from West Virginia Cryptids
Thanks for sharing 👍
We have always wanted to go to a bigfoot museum. Going to try to go to the one in Blue Ridge, GA soon.
Wow that's awesome never seen it before ☺️😘☺️ have heard of the old man of the mountain 🏔️🏔️ before have a good day stay safe enjoy see you tomorrow
Come to northern Wisconsin and learn about the Hodag!
AHHHH you’re not far from me! It’s so cool to see you around here!
Glad you made it to our state! Hope you had a great time. Come on back any time, man.
I had zero privacy on the phone as a kid, so pay phones were a lifeline for me. It’s fun to see one still working.😄
TY C.B. I appreciate it as always !!!!!!
4:59 anyone who's played Majoras Mask knows about the flatwoods monster. it's ingrained into the minds of any Legend of Zelda fan for years to come.
Yeah! Lol
The amount of passion that the lady museums has was amazing
In Ohio we call those sandwiches “wedgies”. Every pizza shop has them.
Love your video! I have never heard of the Flat woods Monster!👹. I learn something from you everyday! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Loved the chairs and museum.
Living 4 hours or so from there its crazy I have never heard of this monster at all.Yea the Mothman really stole his glory with a Hollywood Mothman movie to rub it in.
That sandwich looks so yummy!
Hey man! I saw you today at Billy Bob's Wonderland. I was too nervous to say hi but it was cool seeing you! I was the dude in the black and green BBWL hoodie recording with the red phone!
Hey! I saw you too! Was trying not to get in the way of your video!
@@TheCarpetbagger Thanks!
Enjoyed the Flatwood Monster! Great Video!
My grandma is the one who makes those ceramic monster lanterns that are sold! Her shop is in Marietta, Oh!
Wow! I’m from Marietta!
Love it when you document points of interest in my home state! Get a biscuit from Tudor’s!
Jacob don't forget the Western NC Bigfoot Festival in May in Marion, NC (Close to home!). Also, I think the "Philly" refers to the Philadelphia Experiment (which wasn't aliens, just allegedly para-normal lol).
Adam the Woo would have been excited about the working pay phone.
You probably came through my town of Beckley, WV on your way there. We have an exhibition coal mine you should check out. I’ll buy you lunch if you are ever in town.
Point Pleasant has an annual Mothman Festival to check out and a museum.
Great video! Safe travels!
Fallout 76 is okay. It has gotten better. I was unaware of what the Flatwoods Monster was when I first ran into one in the game. Have run into Mothman there too. It will hunt you, whereas the Flatwoods Monster seems to be ready to leave you alone if you leave it alone. The game itself gets a bit repetitive, and really seems to push you to work with others, which is sort of against the usual Fallout style of being the lone wanderer. Steam does a free trial from time to time, and you can check out the whole game in those trials.
Yeah fallout 76 had a no man Skype moment lol
Something special about a rainy day blog. Atmosphere +
Yeah...🤔...this Flatwoods Monster feller sure is dressed to impress...💯✔
Another amazing journey in cryptozoology! Thanks.
I’ve never heard of the Flatwoods monster! Jacob this was GREAT! Thanks 🙏 your simply the BEST!
Loved the alien themed sandwiches! 👽✨🥪 The artwork on the flatwoods monster are cool and reminds me of glowing pumpkins. Laughed at you saying, "Yellow.....like a cat's eyes!" 😹 I always love the museum tours and anything alien related. Thanks again Jacob for making my day brighter ☀️ You're my favourite CZcamsr. Best wishes 💖
@@podomkodom That sounds delicious! 😃 I'll have to give it a try. Thanks so much for your comment and best wishes from Ireland ☘️
Unexcelled: better than any other examples of the same type; matchless.
28:04 I usually dial easy to remember toll free phone numbers from favorite companies for test calls, then hang up once the automated system always answers the call first before I get an agent. I remember when I got my first cellphone as a teenager. The reason was my parents were concerned about having me find a payphone and this was 2008 when there were more payphones then than today.
You always make me get hungry Carpetbagger!!!!!!
Fallout 76 has Mothman, The Flatwoods Monster, The Grafton Monster, and Windigo (and others). The game is fine, it got a lot of hate for no reason, especially from people who didn't actually play it, or played the Beta before release then decided not to continue with it. People said it had too many bugs, but it has no more bugs than any other Bethesda game. CyberPunk 2077 had more issues than Fallout 76 and it didn't get half the hate.
Has the Flatwoods monster been back since 1952? Likely it was just looking for an intergalactic Stuckeys to stop at to use the john and maybe pick up a pecan log?
I believe I saw it in a forest behind my house in northwest PA around 1966. It was metallic and had a metal skirt, arms and head, and pointy "crown". It chattered angrily at me in a robotic way. I ran screaming back to my house and never told anyone what I saw.
Great video..entertaining and educational 👣👣👣🦧
Hope you come to Eastern Kentucky soon. Love your videos :)
The food there, makes me want to try out the different variants of food they sell and make.
They look and sound delicious!
Also:
the town, almost looks like a clone of my own town lol
Wow! That museum is so cool! That lady seems so nice and informative. You could learn a lot from her. I also think those Flatwoods Monster chairs are cool. And the Flatwoods Monster Museum looks cool. I like the different renditions of the monster in the art displays. Well, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
i thought that was spider man on your hat, cool never knew. great job Jacob
When I was a kid, I found a ufo/alien book in the local public library. It talked about aliens with outfits like that. I will have to see if they still have that book, I can't remember the title or author but it was old to me like 24 years ago.
If you are ever in Wisconsin this summer, Chippewa Falls is opening a new History Area Museum this Spring. It's located between Irvine Park and Leinenkugel's Brewery. Two other locations I also recommend you check out as well.
If God is willing and the creek don’t rise. Love your program.
I thought I was pretty up on my Cryptic monsters, but this was amazing to see! thank you for expanding my monster knowledge sir!
🤣😆 LMAO at u on the payphone and u putting the dial tone in the 🎙️ 🎤 microphone
If that Creature/being was truly a visitor from WAY out of town. One can only wonder what her or his descendants must think of
A) Being called a Monster, when surely wherever it came from it may be called Mom Or Dad. and
B) all the fame , and notoriety he/she or it , has acquired over the years. Makes one wonder if their species has ever thought of going on tour again to Earth. They would be a smash hit today.
I wish you would explore the Greenbrier. One of the most surreal places I’ve ever been. I felt like I was exploring a Wes Anderson film.
All these years traveling from Pittsburgh, Pa. To Independence, Va., passing Flatwoods, & Sutton, having traveled Route 19, to I-79, I've never heard of the Flatwoods Monster until now. Interesting. Didn't even know about the Bigfoot either. Kind of makes "1" wonder if your even on the same planet? hehe
This is awesome. So interesting. I had to watch it twice. I love anything on Bigfoot, Yeti and MothMan but this was really cool. Thank you Jacob. Stay safe. Stay well. Stay blessed.
Jacob: When you're in upstate NY again you should make your way to Port Henry, the home of Champ. They have a Champ Day in August. Whitehall NY also has a Sasquatch Day too.
Fallout 76!! It's not as good as some of the earlier versions but, its got some fun stuff. The first version where you can play with other players. As for the cryptids, I've seen the Flatwoods monster a few times. He hasn't been very friendly and usually appears in the evening time. It will stand and observe you and if you get too close it will either runaway or attack. The game takes place 200 years after a big nuclear war so, you do encounter many mutations. One such is the Mothman. There are 2 versions of him and his offspring. There are many bad ones but, you can meet the original friendly one on certain evenings by a light house and get your photo with him. (i'm not sure if the lighthouse exists in the real WV). One other really bad Cryptid that you could encounter is a Wendigo. If you are not well armed, avoid it. If you do decide to get the game, stay on the west side of WV, until you can level up a bit. Things get meaner the farther east you travel.
Great video as always, looks as if your mouth has mended well, also good to see. Thank you always, very enjoyable.
Yeah that payphone is a rare breed these days. Quite the sighting
I really hope you took a picture with that pay phone.
One of my biggest dreams is to visit there. I've loved Flatwoods ever since I was little yet I never got to visit Braxton because it's just so far away... Thank you for the tour it makes me feel like I'm in there lol
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! LOL!
Keep up the awesome videos 💕
While you're in WV, you should come to Fun City Arcade in Barboursville, WV
Hey Jacob to me the Flatwoods monster looks like a Kachina doll......
Your orange soda looks so good 😊
Happy that you come to West Virginia my hometown
Love the road trip videos they’re so interesting thank you Jacob❤️
Flatwoods Monster one of my favorites
Love this new vlog-style of video! You are doing a great job Jacob.
Back when I was a child, we kept our doghouse outside the yard fence, next to the woods. (Our house was on 7-1/2 acres which was entirely wooded, but we did have a main 2-lane road that went right in front of our house). My brother went out to feed the dog after dark & came bursting back into the kitchen. He said he saw something in the woods behind the dog house. The dog broke his chain & took off & my brother jumped the fence to get back in the house. I had a sticker book of wildlife with all kinds of animals in it and he saw the photo of a mandrill & said that's what it looked like. ETA: I was young so I don't remember anything more about the story.
Another interesting video love it you can come and Jacob. Looking forward to the Transworld video.
Hey, if you go to the Mothman museum say hi to Mothman
That monster came to be on my birthday, maybe that monster is "me?" LOL I was like, "hey, that is uncanny!"
Sweet Carpetbagger plays the MetaZoo!
currently playing Fallout 4. Love the series. I haven't come across Moth Man or Flatwoods monster in the games but that doesn't mean its not there. Now I am going to have to search for them. Great video as always!!!
They're on Fallout 76, not on Fallout 4. Both games are cool tho
When in st.louis may I recommend the City museum it is right up your alley as well as the arch and Pappy's BBQ
Hey Jacob the carpetbagger you could call Adam the woo tell him that you found a working Payphone keep up the good work on the videos
The Fallout game with the cryptids is Fallout 76, initially it reviewed very poorly as it lacked NPCs and was very very glitchy which has been mostly fixed and updated now, it is however intended to be played with others online so won't be as smooth storywise as say 3 or New Vegas.
If you just want to see the parts specific to each Cryptid search out a channel called Oxhorn, he's documented to quests and storylines for each which you can watch at your leisure rather than trying to play through.
Also I think they went Philly with the beef option as only place that comes to mind UFO wise associated with it is Skinwalker ranch and that just sounds a bit grim.
Great carvings of big foot!
Fallout 76 is a complicated game for sure! But chances are you could find a cheap copy, and might enjoy exploring the post-apocalyptic West Virginia. It has lots of real life locations like flat woods, point pleasant, Helvetia. It is an online game but you could play through the entire story and never worry about the other people playing. I think it's worth your time to check it out.
You "ford" a river.
A "fjord" is a long, narrow inlet with steep sides or cliffs, created by a glacier.
fallout 76 is a multiplayer survival game! your goal is to survive in an apocalyptic version of west virginia, and some quests and random encounters can lead you to meeting/fighting some cryptids! it’s a very fun game to play with friends, and it’s gotten added to and made a lot better in the past year or so :) 10/10 recommend!
13:11 Parking meter says, "Use quarters only." Carpetbagger proceeds to put in a dime. LOL
That Calzone looked delicious Never heard of the Flatwoods Monster guess there’s Cryptids out there I’m still unaware of.
love your vlogs, your inspiring me to start doing this myself.
You know, Fallout 76 has a lot going wrong for it, but the nods to a lot of real WV locations and legends stands out
The saying goes... If the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise
We have a brick paved town square with a courthouse in the middle
