man, we need more of these kinds of mixed tournaments in the world, and I don't mean mixed gender. Excessive nationalism isn't good for anyone, all it does is cause discrimination and racism. We should all work together, play together.
But nationalism does cause racism and discrimination, because by definition, you are hating on other nations, at least when compared to your own. Just because getting rid of nationalism doesn't solve all problems doesn't mean that it doesn't help, or that it shouldn't be done. That would be a logical fallacy.
Who said nationalism leads to a specific hateful prejudice such as racism? Nationalism as far as sports are concerned, only lead to a competitive mindset between two nations. That's it and nothing more. However nations such as Palestine and Israel hate each other not because of the sport, but rather the conflicting religions that happen to be a part of their populations.
