Sort of symbolic Buddy handing Kingfish his guitar. Its like hes saying you've proven yourself as a true old fashioned bluesman to keep carrying the blues after I am gone. I can tell Buddy is proud of him like he was a long lost son.
@@mattamagiera Just in the few years I’ve been listening to him, he was already amazing but had a lot of … I’m not quite sure how to put it. It’s when you’re playing in a band with someone who is great but doesn’t have experience playing with other great musicians, so it’s like they’re playing by themselves. Now he’s the whole package. I think the next evolution for him is to lead a band, not just be lead guitarist but the boss of what goes on, on stage, like Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers or Miles Davis and every living musician on the planet.
The thing I think I love most about this guy is that so many players immediately try to play those fast Stevie licks. Kingfish went back further. He plays with dynamics, more or less complexity, and finesse. Not always blistering fast, but he SERVES THE SONG
I think Kingfish might have been a little bit intimidated that night playing with such a legend . Jimi Hendrix was big fan of Buddy Guy I know Kingfish was nervous
Due to Covid, all the concerts I planned to see are cancelled : Walter Trout, Mike Zito, Richie Kotzen and Popa Chubby. The only one still reamining is Kingfish. I have been waiting a very long time for him to come in France, I would be sooooo sad, even if I understand.... Keep on playing, folks !
I was there that night! Kingfish is awesome, I got a picture with him. I’ve seen Buddy a number of times and he was great as always. You could tell he really enjoyed playing with Kingfish and Haven Starr.
Thanks for the upload, I'm going to see Kingfish at the end of Feb. 2020, I've seen Buddy many times, always a great show, a lot of which is his facial expressions, you should focus more from the guitar up forget the feet to get all of the emotion of Buddy in the shot.
Damn...Buddy slowed this tune down. Understandable. Love. If you LOVE BLUES...and when In Chicago...... First Stop is Buddy's. I remember seeing Eric GAles when he was 17 Y.O at Legends. I asked Buddy to go onstage and he wouldn't. Made the mistake of telling Buddy..."The Youngster going to show ya off???" Buddy looked at me and walked away. LOL
Sci Ense Even worse when you really go to listen cos you appreciate music and people talk as if you were in a bar with some nasty juke box playing in the background. Musicians will always find their groove eventually, but when people don’t shut the F up, what da’ hell they there for???

Buddy Guy a legend for real.kingfish. speechless
I was shocked to learn how young kingfish is- he plays with wisdom and intuition like a man with 3x his age.
Not too many people can say they influenced Hendrix....🎸🎸
Young and Old all connected to the Blues Thanks Buddy and Kingfish
Kingfish is the real thing. Pure blues DNA.
Kingfish is so respectful of everyone. I love it when a great artist is also a great human being.
That man has come a LONG way. Use to just shred for days, which we all love, but yea... this is way better
He just loves music and the blues nothing but love when its music
He SHOULD be respectful of Buddy Guy.

Locked in, smooth and groovin' with the drummer on this descending line. Catfish has a beautiful feel and a listening ear.

First thought: Buddy is usually playing a polka dot guitar.
Kingfish is the reincarnation of the late Freddie King

fantastic. Blues lives on. Is Kingfish playing Buddy's own guitar?
F**k YES!
ha ha ha ha ha ha...tooo much......
WE all know why Buddy keeps his guitar in that position.
Oooweeee!
Why MTV didn't have a crew here I don't know. Oh yeah right.
Mtv sold out their Blues n Soul years ago.
Mtv Unplugged was their best stunt.
GOOD SOLIS
it a bummer when the band is playing in a different key than you are in

Nope, just invest in a tripod or don't move your hands, lol
Peace I enjoyed it
Who was the guy playing the tele solo at the end? He was completely out of his league here lol.
