It can’t be a bad thing that a manufacturer has come up with a means to make a very interesting watch available to a lot more people. Good on them and thank you for introducing this watch.
Nice to see Xeric get some recognition. They have been steadily improving.
I've been waiting to see when they would be mentioned on these channels.
I own a couple of Xerics alongside more mainline brand like IWC, Rolex, TAG, Tudor, Hublot etc etc (I have no brand loyalty). I buy watches because I like the look of them and the Xerics do not disappoint.
The closeup shots show that the dial finish is very crisp and clean. That’s a lot of watch for $1000
I just want to say this channel is a masterpiece of cinematography. Your narrators voice alone can turn anyone into a watch enthusiast
He alone could create a new genre in porn. "Narrated porn". The camera always going around and around and around and his voice narrating the entire thing.
I can vouch for Xeric myself, actually! This is not sponsored by them, nor am I an employee of theirs. I’m just a customer who bought his very first Xeric watch only a week ago, and I’ve been wearing it for three days now. Let me tell you: it’s worth every penny! I got the Soloscope II in Slate Blue, and it’s incredible! It’s about a fifth of the price of these two watches (coming in around $250), and it’s SQUARE. Like, actually square-shaped! It’s essentially a combination of pieces from Xeric’s other watches put together into one cool-looking industrial-themed watch! This includes a skeletonized hour hand (reminiscent of these wandering hour watches in a way), a Halo hand tracking the minutes (from the Halograph, naturally), and a 24-hour hand with a white and yellow arrow denoting AM/PM (a reference to the Invertor’s hands I guess). It also has a date window at the 15 minute mark with quick-set. It even has a custom-designed rotor on the back to help balance out the wobbling that Miyota movements are famous for (due to only winding the mainspring in one direction rather than two). All in all, it’s pretty full-featured-and considering that you can get it for less than $300 with coupons, it’s a great deal in my opinion!
Once again, I’m going to reiterate this: this comment is NOT sponsored by Xeric. It might seem like it, but I’m typing this after a long day at work, and my brain is fried, so it may have come out sounding like a genuine ad. Rest assured, it isn’t.
I own several Xeric watches, I love them! Always a conversation piece!
Thank you for the video! I love what you guys do
Great to see Xeric getting some talking hands time, i love Xeric and own 5 pieces now including the scrambler in black and orange and regulator in Glacial Blue, both get a lot of attention great watches great brand
I have built my collection based on recommendations of niche watchmakers I've been introduced to throufh this channel! Love your content, keep it up!
I've been a sideline fan of Xeric for a long time when the first Halograph came out I'm kinda glad I waited to get one but I'm almost certain that I going to order the deep purple Halograph 2 automatic on Friday it's my first watch worth any kind of money I'm happy to see Xeric on your channel
I fell in love with the rose gold and ocean triptych by Xeric from the moment I laid eyes on it. I think it may have been a Facebook ad, honestly.
I picked one up, waited two or three months to recieve it (during which time i picked up their matching rose gold strap), and I'm over the moon. My watch gets adored everywhere I go, and I'm universally ecstatic to put it on.
It's simultaneously radical in design but somehow classicly styled, it doesn't "look" like a watch that's from the 2020s. To one who didn't know it's history, this could be decades old. It holds a kind of magic to it.
I'm typing this comment as I wear my Xeric Triptych Automatic in rose gold. It arrived just yesterday. This video was the main reason I purchased this watch. Love your content, subscribed for sure!
I have the scrambler and it's my favorite watch! Highly reccommended
I dig Xeric, the Triptych is a nice piece indeed.
Interesting selection of watches. I like the Xeric NASA Voyager in grey and yellow. I can actually read it with a quick glance!
I bought a Scrambler in black and white, and I'm really happy with it. The strap could be a bit better, but the watch itself is fun and very eye catching.
Hi, I ordered my scrambler about 9 months ago during crowd funding and still have not heard a word on delivery date. How and when did you receive yours?
@@tonylaxa9953 mine came pretty much immediately around January. Nine months doesn't sound right. Xeric's customer service is pretty responsive, maybe try emailing them to see when you can expect delivery.
I have several Xerics, they are always a conversation starter. Added this to the list.
P.S. Tomb Raider 1 is NOT stoopid, you just gotta get gud ;)
Funny to see this watch featured on this channel, I just bought it 2 weeks ago 🙂. I got indeed the gun metal/bronze version.
What’s next? That what keeps me tuning in every morning. Thanks
The watchtime padding using tomb raider and dark souls to get it over 5 minutes is craaaaazy
greetings from watchescirclejerk
Very nice. Thanks for letting us know about this cool watch.
1:46 trippy! Like a fractal
Great review. Do you know the weight of each watch? I would definitely get the rose gold as there’s something I don’t like about the stainless finishing.
I have the exact same colour Scrambler. Interesting watch for sure.
I got a Xeric Trappist-1 and after about a month the thing stopped working. I replaced the battery and it then after worked for two weeks until it stopped moving again. It either gobbles up batteries like no tomorrow or the mechanism stopped working.
The question is: is it any better than the Mens Business Quartz Fashion Calendar Mesh Belt 3eye 6pin Watch?
Men’s Business Quartz Fashion Calendar Mesh Belt 3eye 6pin Watch *Watch**
Holycow thanks for introducing this crazy brand Xeric. Just looked at some of their watches and they are unique and affordable.
I remember that part in the original Tomb Raider! The butler indeed paid dearly for my frustration 😅
I'm wondering, from anyone who owns one of these beauties, how well they hold up in the long run and how they are serviced. With so many parts contacting other parts it would seem that these small components underneath, paired with the pins built into the dial, would wear much much faster. Has anyone had an issue like this?
Alright, the cut at 6:15 wasn't as perfect as it could have been, but it still got me. :P
How about $150 for such a simple wandering hour mechanism? After all it looks more complicated than it really is (designed 400 years ago), can be driven by bread-and-butter movements like Miyotas off the shelf. Just a gear change to speed up the hour hand by 3 and a pin to drive the three hour dials. No real magic; just the Urwerk scale position (to peek out of shirt sleeves when worn on the left wrist) is a neat idea.
I got a Chinese Pindu version (taxed and shipped for $148) to check the functionality and mechanism: sure this cheap watch does not hold up to other wandering hour models, but THEIR price is insane, the Pindu with a Miyota 8215 is way more reasonable. After tuning its accuracy (+8 and +12 sec per day v/h) to a symmetric +-2sec/day it now runs almost perfect if placing it accordingly on the nightstand.
Materials and lume are decent, the big dome mineral glass is not exactly my favorite, but the pin drive of the wandering wheels does its job. Something different for a (small) change.
Would I pay $1000 for a name brand watch with this simple complication? Hell no; I paid $1000 for both my ETA 7751 and 7750 combined a few years ago, these are REAL watches with real functionality. More bang for the bucks, YMMV.
I love Xeric and it's hard not to love it....
The Internet is a silly thing when money is just 1' and 0's *clicky*
Can't wait to see this thing arrive now - DAMN YOU WATCHFINDER!🤣
Is that the same Felix Baumgartner who came from Outer Space? Brave man with a courageous watch design. 😄🇨🇦👍
worlds most expensive fidget spinner
That is what i was thinking thy sood mace is so that you can take the face out when you are bord
That’s the Reverso
High end fidget spinners cost a lot more than $1000 😂
That intro took some time didn’t it?!
I would definitely buy that for $1000. If I had a spare $1000.
I have and I'm considering it
Just $749 now with the promote code
Love those Xeric Watches.. own 2 of them :-) Exotic, stunning and very affordable
Now we can buy a Jacob and Co. for .3%!
Dwiss makes a wandering hour watch Swiss made $1,900
I really want to pull the tricker on this watch. Just wish it were under 40mm.
Didn’t AP release a very similar watch in the form of a new 11:59? And isn’t this form of time-telling actually somewhat traditional? Regardless, I like it, Xeric seems to make nice straps well.
@watchfunder what do you guys think about the junker and zeppelin watches from Germany. They are quite a bargain
Your spot on, that's a Crazy watch 😀
That blue one looks insane
I'm in love with mine, got a matching strap. This thing is legitimately gorgeous.
Hell, the missus hates when I splurge on things, and even she compliments this watch regularly.
I love it!! Must have one.
Novelty impresses and invigorates. 😃
Beautiful xeric triptic
Can I just say the Dark Souls references was just pure magic! MAGIC! Andrew... Eldon Ring? heheheh!
omg i totally locked the butler in the fridge as a kid
Lmao !!!! The gaming reference that starts this is off the charts..you REALLY gotta get good to beat dark souls lol
I like it, it's different for sure
This would be awesome if it had some kind of second wheel that would spin all the time so it will catch more people's eyes.
G-dammit...I'd already overcome my urge to splurge on a Xeric and now it's been triggered again. Thanks for that...😑
Please do JlC Reverso Hybris Artistica.
Do you have this on sale?
The Urwerk were very iconic but I don't see how this improves on the og designs appart from being more affordable...
...That's the improvement.
there are some crazy people on this planet and they buy watches like this.
I love my Trappist-1 James Webb Space Telescope edition.
I just went to their website....
And this is the crazy watch?
Video starts at 3:55😊
I also made that comment - but then I saw that you made it first
There is a watch called The angles three kings which has the same exact complication but for only 400 bucks in pre-sale and now for 750 bucks.
The 3 Kings was a good looking watch. I was partial to the red dial and the black 3.0 version.
Bel Canto, Uwerk. Bel Canto, Uwerk. Both. Settled. Two fabulous watches for the people. (Volkswatches?)
I still don't understand how to read the time on that thing.
Looks cool though.
I have a Xeric Atlasphere Limited Edition Red that I received from their Mystery Automatic Watch option. This watch is a real mess, and has given me reason to question the quality of their brand in general. I’ve seen several posts from happy owners, so maybe mine’s a one off.
However, when you’re talking about buying something over a grand (the wondering hour models) you really would hope to find better quality in the brands other more entry models.
It also doesn’t help that they’ve failed to post the review I submitted recently. The newest review they have for their Mystery Automatic Watch option is more than a year old.
I love the game reference.
I like it.
When I heard the name Felix Baumgartner, I had to check to confirm Red Bull’s sky diver wasn’t involved at Urwerk.
I own a xeric trappist automatic limited edition wich i got through their early kickstarter campaign. It's a nice looking watch, but not very functional. Its to weird to read the time and so i never wore it even once. In the kickstarter i paid around 300€ wich was an ok price, but the retail price for the regular trappist automatic is way to high in my opinion. I'd prefer an good Seiko, Sinn or Zodiac...
So wait, how can you tell which minute are you on?
Whatever the price I want a watch that I CAN READ!
I also locked the butler in the fridge
Do you sing or play a instrument while on tour ?
Its amazing to think of all the creative minds, skills, imaginings and outputs of talented (and not so talented) peoples, groups and companies around the world! Who all ponder scheme, create, make, copy, adjust, refine,, re-work or reissue every possible variation of one product or another, or technology or trinket! All for the specific amusement, bemusement and attention of others!
.....Who will then inspect, handle, look, compare, judge and say yey or ney!....Or, "how much? For that?....You've got to be kidding !!!! 😂😂😂
Yikes.
it’s a Walzer on your wrist it may be of use to those tiny people in the book where there is a girl called Arrietty.
Very cool .
4 minutes of word fluff without saying anything before 'real' information of that watch appeared.
It is a copy of AP Wondering Hours complication.
The real question is how sturdy is it?
China
The ownership experience is very underwhelming. As cool as the dial is, you pretty much never see it in action, unless you're constantly turning the crown.
its now unknown!
Rather a seiko
Wot no secundz?? 😂😂
Watchfinder are selling a Daytona for £114.000?
Everything these days is described as "crazy, insane, etc." losing all meaning. Other adjectives better describe this watch: wonderful, clever, beautiful, innovative, etc.
Nice video Watchfinder.
Modern computer design and computer run micro manufacturing has made manufacturing much cheaper.
It looks a very nice watch indeed, but seems pricy. They launched it with $400 discount, making it $699, and I think that would be a fair price compared with the direct competitors (i.e. similar watches).. The Three kings from Angles is at €691, and the The wanderer currently at kickstarter is at $380 with kickstarter discount to become $780 later..
Mechanically, they are comparable, but design wise Xeric is streets ahead of Angles and the Wanderer. They've put more effort into their designs and finishing, that's what you pay the premium for. If I were going to buy this type of watch, I'd pay more for the Xeric.
@@andoletube i see your point, but the other argument is that they must have made a profit during the kickstarter campain selling at 700. This means the now sell at an additional 400 profit. That seems excessive to me.. I rather wait for a discount or the prices tobdrop…
@@molthoff2453 I think it can be seen as more of a company direction. If you want to be more than a bargain watch company, you have to strive towards that. Charging more money means you can reinvest more into your product range and the execution thereof. Then you can build towards the level of proficiency and price point you want - even if you aren't quite there yet.
It's easy to think that it's about competition and value, but I think building a company towards a future vision is a complex thing. It's like a novice painter - they are usually warned not to sell their art too cheap otherwise they will become known as a cheap artist and struggle to ever command good prices for their work. In this case, Xeric might be a bit overpriced as you say, but I do think the Xeric watches can certainly justify being at least $200 more than the other brands you mentioned because they look much better executed to me. They probably had to pay their design team and watchmakers more money than the others.
These watches have the accuracy of -10 secs to +30 secs a day. No wonder they are selling for 1000 bucks.
The term Xeric means "a dry environment"...not sure this is the best choice of name for a brand that wants to be anything but "dry"
HOW awesome??
Down the drain it goes my 1000$ for the Miyota.
I get the idea, but the reality is different 😊
Michael Jordan loved the early Urwerks…
Is this a sponsored piece?
I’m annoyed with them. I contributed to their kickstarter campaign and never received the nasa watch
This is not a urwerk . I am confused.
neat but too big.
Uhrwerk! ...Urwerk....NOPE.
Down the storm drain!
