Her relationship with Allen Ludden is definitely relationship goals. They loved each other very much, and they were very loyal to each other.
Thank you for sharing her stance on racial equality. I don’t know if there are people that knew that about her, especially the part where she became MORE defiant when people gave her a hard time for having a black cast member.
A testament to what she was like as a person - the only person that didn’t like her was Bea Arthur, which isn’t a big deal TBH because a number of people (including fans) reported that she was miserable in general. Almost EVERYONE that worked with Betty liked her. 💙
In retrospect, it says a lot now in the episode in Golden Girls, when they were all sick in the house, and Dorothy says to Rose "oh, I'm sick of you and your cheerful disposition!"
I've learned some people just have unchecked ills inside of them, whether they are conscious of it or not. And those individuals often don't mesh well with others who shine bright organically without trying.
Betty was that different and rare breed indeed.

Yeah, millions of people were looking forward to her reaching 100, and as I remember some kind of program / event was scheduled for broadcast that obviously was cancelled.
I've caught glimpses of "The Golden Girls", as my mother loves watching it. From my understanding, fans of the show considered Rue McClanahan the prettiest Golden Girl, but I saw Betty White as the prettiest one. It's crazy Betty outlived the three women considering she was the oldest of the quartet.

The funny country lady she played in Golden Girls, Sue Ann on Mary Tyler Moore where she played this Home Economics food expert and Her skits on SNL playing a character in Mcgruber, which was always a big bang…some of my favourite memories. When I first saw Betty as a young woman I was like "Wowee, wow, wow, wow! What a knockout!" And to learn Bea didn't like Betty because she was always so positive like her character Rose I'm like "Seriously? If I'm in a bad mood & if there's someone around who's positive I need some of that good attitude to perk me up." Betty really had a fiesty nature & could tell a person off without using any foul language although hearing her curse puts a smile on my face 😊.
Story was that Bea didn't respect Betty's TV background as serious theater since Bea had come through Broadway.
Everyone should strive to be like Betty white. What’s amazing is it doesn’t matter how old or young someone is, they know who Betty white is.

Love Betty! The Golden Girls is one of my favorite shows of all time! Her portrayal of Rose Nylund is classic. One of my favorite lines is…Blanche: You know what I always hate doing after a party? Rose: Trying to find your underwear in the big pile? 😂
I grew up a fan from The Mary Tyler Moore Show as the sexy LouAnn with the cooking segment. She was funny, intelligent, and snide in the role. I just loved her as the bad girl. Then I discovered her on the 1950's rerun of game shows, and wow her intelligence was very apparent. I loved watching her as a guest on her husband's show. The pictures you picked of her had some amazing outfits and jewelry. It makes me happy that she supported the Black dancer on her show. She was a very fair person and optimistic. I'm like that tooso I can identify people around you making you a target and I was sorry to hear that Bea Arthur who I also loved was so sour towards her. All those woman from the Golden Girls had amazing careers individually and Bea was one of the first Female Marines in this country. There's room for everyone to shine. Rest in peace to great incomparable Betty White. Than k you for this story. 🤍

I've always had a fan crush on this woman. I was always jealous of her dimples too, bc mine aren't deep like hers. People don't understand that Betty wasn't prim and proper in certain situations. She wasn't afraid to tell people to F off...with a smile on her face. It was why I loved her moments on Golden Girls when Rose said stuff that wasn't Rose-like. Also, she loooved her late husband. I first came across Betty White in The Golden Girls, when she was in her early 60s. I never realised just how BEAUTIFUL she was as a younger lady, with such a gorgeous smile and those dimples! She was certainly one of a kind. Super talented, with a wonderful long career, I love that she was one of the first women to have creative control in front of the camera as well as behind it. I've now watched many of her movies, tv series, skits and documentaries and her genius is huge! She had such a wickedly funny wit and was a superb comedienne and wanted to be known for her acting, which she won many awards for, as well as her love and charitable work on behalf of animals. She was a charming, funny woman who loved dogs. I met her when I was a teen at the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills dog show in the 70's. She was involved with Actors and Others for Animals from its beginnings in the 70's. She was absolutely lovely and kind to this awkward teenager! ❤
