Don’t miss Season 7 Episode 6 (Opinions) featuring the Legendary ‘Bloodline’ founder Paper Pabs. This reasoning has been long overdue so it was good to finally get to give Pabs his flowers. With him and Spray being friends, this made for an entertaining, no holds barred conversation.
‘The Man, The Myth’ talked us through his life story so far, including being born in Birmingham, before moving to London and then moving back to Brum, then back to London again. We learned about the early days of Meridian, Bloodline days, how the Edmonton and Wood Green link was made and touched on the Big H vs P Money clash along with a lot more believe me!
We then put him through his ‘RTM Fire Round’ before getting into some ‘Current Affairs’. The main subject was ‘Opinions’ which we tackled the whole way through and you know we had some ‘RTM Banter’. The ‘RTM Dilemma’ and ‘Book Suggestion’ closed the show as usual. Yet another Realer Than Most conversation with lots of banter, real talk and transparency.

I’m a old school paper pabs fan and have never even listened to a whole meridian Dan tune… But the success of German whip wasn’t nothing to do with the word Bloodline half the kids and the white boys out in Ibiza and aiya napa that was jumping around listening to that song…. Big up pabs doesn't get enough recognition in the game puts out consistent heat. Big up the whole meridian and bloodline
Also with the german whip tune, someone else said in the comments but was a bag of white man getting gassed over it in raves etc lol. It had the right kind of beat for that with heavytrackers, which was heavily rooted in UK culture/part of reason things like grime/dubstep/jungle raving etc were the rage of the time. BBK Prez T and H all went hard on the grime/rave scene and thats arguably why they were bigger than pabs, was popular culture of the younger generation of the time within london especially. Even though I would personally listen to the Man the Myth over that stuff every time, even the slower H rapping verses on that too. But then as he says you had the backstory too/beef which was big at the time, and h and jme were arguably in their primes, then on top of that it had a very catchy memorable hook, same way you see things blowing on social media on shorts/stories etc with a short catchy hook (take drake as an example/a lot of old school hip hop/rnb tunes which blew up back in the day not on social media obviously), and on top of this, people talking about german whips/foreigns in general, was a big talking point at the time for clout lol. Was not one factor but multiple things coming together essentially in perfect time. Had all the necessary ingredients to blow at that given moment in time when you break down all the different cultural aspects/degrees of marketability.
