If you do wanna straighten it again do NOT put oil in it. It’ll weigh it down and cause it to fry. I will say only use heat protection spray that’s moisturizing and always get them ends clipped while having a silk press. And it’ll be so cute and more smooth/ healthy
Wait is the Olaplex oil okay? That’s what I’ve been using 😅
@@hm-od5zp only put hair oil after using any heat in ur hair
@@ErinAsh23 agreed!!! and it should be a light oil
@@ErinAsh23 omg thank you, I was doing wrong this the whole time
@@ErinAsh23 I would even say a serum because it doesn’t weigh the hair down as much as oil
Who else randomly found Sierra Ann recently and can't stop watching her anymore
Like she gives off positive vibes and i'm here for it and she's always relatable
Me! 🫶🏼

🌷🤗 she’s amazing!!

Meee lol
Apply oil AFTER straightening with heat, not before. When you apply oil and then heat to your hair, it fries your hair. Apply a heat protectant spray and/or serum (I recommend Chi) before heat and then a tiny bit of oil after for a more lightweight, silky result.
please this
I have heat protectant and it’s a serum. Do you use it once when about to blow dry? Or do you use it before blow drying and before straightening?
@@rheatysha396 I use heat protectant once, before using the hairdryer. I use it in sections, root to tip, making sure all of my hair is coated.
I make sure my hair is completely dry before using the flat iron (heat protectant would dampen my hair if I applied it after blow drying).
I also try to straighten my hair as much as possible using the hairdryer, it makes using the flat iron easier and quicker (the direct heat from a flat iron is potentially more damaging than the heat from a hairdryer). To achieve this, I use the tension method while blowdrying.
I know this is random lol but lowkey would you ever consider doing psychologist vlogs? I feel ike that would attract a lot more viewers
No, it doesn’t. This is an old wives’ tale.
As a curly (grown) girl I feel you. I prefer my curls but I try to straighten a couple times a year to see what’s up lol
Same❤
you are truly a rare GEM. You are a redhead, have curly hair, freckles, and is just gorgeous! Coming from another curly girl, keep doing what you are doing! Your doing great
You’re honestly so beautiful the way you are. You don’t need to change at all 🤍
I second this
I third this. Sierra is so pretty 🤩
Who said she was wanting to change 😂
You’re beautiful inside and out boo ❤❤
@@KAYSWORLD365 these backhanded compliments crazy /j 😂
Don't change yourself for anybody you're beautiful the way you are ❤️
Tip For coarse hair if anyone needs
-Heat protector (Not Water based) just wets your an frizzes it out
-blow dry it out with heat protector
-Titanium flatiron
- A serum not oil on whole head for the straighting part
- you can use your straightener on highest level as long as you have the protection and it's blown out only takes 1 pass so its safe
I love it! Both straight and curly hair! ❤
Hey Sierra, if it’s a style that you want to wear in the future consider getting your ends clipped. And then it’ll be straight all the way down. Also straight ends allow your curls to pop more and be more defined. You did a good job of straightening it. It looks like it’s really thick and would take a long time. I have thick hair that’s naturally curly, and I never have the patience to straighten it myself. I like it both ways on u!
@@Schrodingers_Kat the comb would’ve helped sm, and holding the straightener down, or getting a better one
IT LOOKS SO GOOD ON YOU!! Also as a girl with naturally curly hair who straightens her hair all the time I have a few tips if you plan on doing it more often!! So for the frizzy ends I used to get that too but I started brushing my hair with a flat like square brush and it works pretty well!! Another thing is hairspray, If you just add hairspray to the layer you’re straightening and then brush it out it helps too!! :)
"hair was so damaged it started falling out of my head" I had the same experience. Hair was damaged from relaxers and I never saw my curls. One day, I felt a big patch of hair was almost gone from the rest. I cut off all my hair, went natural, now my hair is longer than I remember... Love your channel 💙💜❤️!
I love how real she is
To be honest, I don’t know why she has hate comments. Being a little bit more chubby than everybody else shouldn’t be shamed. You are beautiful girly and nothing will every change that. And also being a girly will lots of hair, I feel you.
I just found your page a couple weeks ago and I have been addicted. I was going through a really hard time with my mental health and you really showed that Im not alone and that its okay to have ups and downs, but remember that I am worth all of the love that I give. Love you girl❤
I can make recommendations as a licensed hairdresser and someone who would love to have done this to your hair. After towel drying your hair is when you apply leave in and a small amount of oil. Brush to distribute evenly before blow drying. And for your hair texture and pattern I would recommend heat at around 420 degrees. The babyliss titanium flat iron work well for curly hair:). Use an aerosol heat protection spray before flat ironing and brush to distribute. Go through the hair in 1/4 inch thick sections making about 3-4 passes on the root and the mids and ends usually only need 2 passes. I love your hair!🥰🥰
You recommend heat to someone with damaged hair... I love hairdressers who do not care about the health of their clients' hair.
@@PhilosopherFromMontrealbe quiet not everyone's natural. I flat iron my hair its tail bone length and not damaged
Usually curly haired people look like they're not themselves and worse than their curly self... But you still look just as pretty 🥺 duality queen! Also it's unbelievable how at one point you didn't even know you had a curl pattern, I didn't know that even curls this tight could "hide" when not taken care of properly. Your hair is gorgeous ❤
I agree some people's hair does not match their head when it is straightened. especially if they have thin or very thick hair. I would rather have curls and body, than thin stringy hair. I am the opposite in other people's eyes. People think I have curled or permed my hair when it is natural. They say, "what did you do to get your hair so curly?" I tell them talk to God, he knows what he did. My hair is slightly wavy in cooler low humidity, and huge, like five inches thick when warm and humid. Water has a lot to do with destroying curls too. My daughter never had two curls the same, her hair was mixed with everything on the 1-4 hair type chart, and very porous. She moved to another state as an adult, and now she has beautiful uniform curls and way less tangles. I don't have to use any products or heat on my hair when I visit her, and my hair stays straight without frizz or tangles. It's felt weird. Also, when I shower at my friend's house that lives in a neighboring city my hair has almost no wave, not even when I use my curly spray gel. I don't like it.
Never saw her before but she is a cutie with curly or straight hair. Her beauty is unique and I love her look.
Hey Serria, in my experience I have learned overtime that the smaller the plates on the flat iron the easier it is. I have a 1 inch plate flat iron and I feel I have to use less passes to get my hair perfectly straight vs a 1 1/4 inch flat iron. I feel that's a helpful tip.
Licensed cosmetologist here!
If you ever try this again, nix the oil. The oil is essentially frying your lock.
Lower the heat 350 or under, you’ll inevitably do more than 1 pass with higher heat anyway, may as well have it low and take it slow.
Get you some GOOD heat protectant. Sally has the Olaplex dooooop and it’s pretty fire TBH!
Invest in a good ceramic plate straightener. (Don’t get the Dyson, not worth it TBH) 😮
To avoid the “flat” look part your hair into small slanted sections that are the same width as the plates on the iron. Iron it toward the face rather than straight down that’ll give it so much more movement.
❤ love the final look but your curls look amazing as well ❤ beautiful before and after 😊
Anyone remember the wet 2 straight flat iron? The smell and sound of the straightener damaging my hair lives rent free in my head.
You look so beautiful with it! Your body is gorg and keep going with your channel and inspiring people ❤
ANY HAIR YOU LOOK SO PRETTY BUT THAT STRAIGHT HAIR IN MY OPINION IS GIVINGGG
Looks really professional and mature after the straightening and before the clips. Hair is beautiful for styling. Keep moisturizing and keep your hair healthy. ❤
Both you and your hair are SO BEAUTIFUL! I’ve recently been trying to find my curl pattern again, and it’s definitely been a process with all the damage I’ve put it through lol.
Your hair looks good straight or curly. I have straight hair and I love to curl my hair for special occasions because I feel like it looks fancier curled. I think it's just because I am used to seeing my hair straight and curling it just makes it look like a new or different version of myself. But heat damage is real, so I don't curl it very often. But it's fun trying new styles. Thank you for sharing Sierra, love your channel.
it looks so pretty straight & your natural curls look beautiful! you cant go wrong! 🥰❤️😍
I think you're so pretty straight or curly but I'm a firm believer in feeling your best self. So if you like it natural...then you rock it out❤
GET HER TO 1MMMM! WE LOVE U SM SIERRA
You are naturally just beautiful Sierra ❤
But I have to say your curls are my fav .
Kudos to you for doing things just for your subscribers.
You rock girl 💪
literally 1 minute into the video i realized that you're literally one of the most positive youtubers i have ever watched :D
Please make sure to put the hair growth oil on your scalp cause that’s where your hair grows and use leave in conditioner and serum for when u are blow drying (or sucking) and straightening your hair queen, ALSO NEXT TIME TRY A COMB AND THE STRAIGHTENER U WILL LOVE IT!!!!! ❤️ btw I’m a cos student ☺️
I’m a whole month late but omggg it looks so good!! Please do a vlog of going to salon to get a silk press next time you go straight, and how you use your at home tools for maintenance.
Love your hair ❤️...little tip, spray your hair with the heat protectant BEFORE THE DRYER. Your hair should be as dry as possible when using the iron. If not your basically steaming your hair instead of straightening it
I’m seeing a lot of people say that oils are not good for hair and will fry/damage your hair.
NOT TRUE, it’s all depends on the type of oil you’re using. Each oil has a smoke point until it starts to burn. Argan oil actually has the highest smoke point and can withstand high heat, up to 420 degrees which is why Argan oil is often used in heat protectants.
Oils like coconut can withstand less heat
you look beautiful!!
i know your just doing this for fun but don’t feel like you have to change because your absolutely stunning either way🤍
I can tell automatically made you smile 😊and happier when you began to straighten your hair.looks soo cute that way. Keep straighten it from time to time if you're feeling able to,I have depression days so I know from day to day life is a different process for me sometimes I'm doing great just to do a little style to my hair, so either way it's cute.. Good Job..😊
Girl, first of all, it's gorgeous! I just wanted to advise you, as person diagnosed with androgenetics alopecia, that that tiny bit on your front head it's a little empty on hair (like a little hole), and it may get worse if you don't take care of. Mine was a lot worse, but I went to a dermatologist and got treatment. Again, it's not a critic at all, it's just something I wish somebody had told me before :( I think you said in another video you have PCOS? It's what is probably causing that. Anyway! I love your videos, please post more often!! love from ʙʀ
Girl SAME. I’ve wanted to comment about that for a while but I couldn’t find a way to say it without sounding like a dick but you nailed it!
Great advice! Can I ask what treatment you got from your dermatologist?
@@iamReyBar I'm taking minoxidil via oral (in pills) and it really helped and made my hair grow thicker. It's all about consistency and drinking a LOT of water, eating healthy and nutritional meals. This is also gonna help with the PCOS. But in my case, it's just genetics, so there isn't much I can do. 🤷
New video!! Hands down, new favorite youtuber. She deserves more followers for sure
You look amazing with any hair! A true beauty right here ❤
Baby I can’t get enough of your videos. An absolute Queen, thank you for blessing my eyes and mind everytime I watch xo
Love your natural hair, but this also looks rly good ❤🫶🏻
I liked the side part 😍. End result was cute w the clips and makeup
You look beautiful! I love it❤ but I’m with you on preferring the natural curls 🥰🫶 I have curly hair as well & I don’t feel like myself when I straighten it. It’s been almost 7 years since I started my natural hair journey ☺️
I think your straight hair and curls look beautiful!!
I love both hair
Styles but do what makes YOU happy and love the videos and your videos personality ❤❤❤
Just FYI: I always straighten my hair the day AFTER I wash my hair except at a professional salon. It’s always easier to work with and I use the chi iron guard along with bio silk silk therapy! My holy grail for real! Love you and your channel ❤❤
Sierra! You bring so much happiness to my life I just like watching you do whatever the heck you wanna do. It’s entertaining and super fun!!! Thank you lovely❤
Your hair color is so pretty ❤❤
Just a reminder of how loved you are. I'm proud of you.
Ors has a heat protectant that keeps your hair moisturized but not greasy. It protects up to 450 degrees
You look absolutely amazing! Glowing and beautiful ❤
I recommend you try a roller set. It's less damaging and should provide the body you seek!
You look pretty with both curly and straight hair. ❤️❤️❤️
Honestly you slayed it the house boots. You with straight hair is definitely a more 2000s pop feel. Your makeup went so well with it
I love how sierra doesn’t care what hatters say and does what she wants to do
I just found it yday and can't stop watching. You look pretty both straight and curly
question, when your hair is curly how often do you clip the ends? bc when I straighten my curly hair and the ends look crazy it's because I need a trim. I usually put a lot of two stand twist throughout my curly hair and clip off the straggly ends, but that's only if ima keep it curly. edit: remember healthy over length. clip the ends if you need to! healthy length comes with time!
UR PRETTY IN BOTH WAYS I LOVE UR ENERGY , KEEP UP THE HARD WORK WE LOVE U SO MUCH SIERRA❤❤❤❤
Her humer is everything 👑
She is beautiful I just started watching her and if she has haters then I would not understand them girl you is amazing I love your hair you are gorgeous and your hair is nice I any one would want had freckles

Yes, connoisseur is the word! I’m an UGG boots/shoes, down coats (Midwest here), Temu jewelry (they have fine jewelry, but the nicer dupes are fun, too), and scary stories. I love them! I don’t care if that makes me a dork. Love your channel, because you’re always you!
Your hair is so pretty curly
Why are You so pretty Sierra ilysm

You have beautiful hair. Your natural hair is exceptionally beautiful but it also looks lovely straight.
Hey sierra I watched this video bc my hair is curly and i wanted to be straight really bad but when i watched this video you made me want to stay natrual and take care of my hair well! i hope my hair will change thank you so much.

omg it looks so good!!! i love your natural hair and straightened hair. both look amazing 🤩
You give great advice. There are many CZcams influencers who give great advice on healthy hairstyles for natural hair, such as straightening your hair and using appropriate hair products to safely do so. Professional cosmetologists environment hair care influencers give great advice on taking care of the natural hair healthily.
I am so thankful you posted, I thought about buying that reverse hair dryer, but I did not believe that it works like in the ads, and clearly it does not make natural, curly hair straight.
I love the fact that you wear your natural hair, it suits you in so many ways and seems ultra adorable to style when curly.
The straight hair is okay....but the current cut isnt made for it. You would have to really commit to getting it chopped and honestly its not worth it for a hair style you dont wear.
The braids you got looked so good, now that is a protective style I can get behind!
You have beautiful hair. Stay natural with it! You're gorgeous 🥰
I'm sure someone said this already but, if you really want to use oil when you straighten your hair only use it as a finisher and keep it away from the roots to avoid a greasy look. I really enjoy using the CHI heat protecter and then I use the design essentials gloss before I straighten. Works like a charm every time! ❤
TEEEE! Love the butterfly clips
Heat protector is key for using head and retaining curl pattern ! BTW You’re gorgeous and I love you 😘💕
Girlyy, you are beautiful just the way you are!!❤
how is it possible that she can look so fucking gorgeous with straight hair and curly hair? 😭😭 ilysm sierra!

I love how u are so confident I wish I was like that I try hard to love my body and try to make sure those mean comments don't get to me and what people say doesn't get to me
I would love her natural hair so much lol, looks great either way 🤗
I'll say it. I LOVE your straightened hair. I knew it was going to look good. Curly is beautiful too. I don't know what straightener you used but sometimes a better quality will make a difference.
I thought I was gonna be sad to see the curls go but straight looks sooo good too ❤
