As a long time and regular player of Descent, it’s really frustrating that they limited/rotated the talents. It really kills the mode for me and those I’ve played with. I was playing with a regular group nightly, long sessions normally going into the 30-40+ loop range. That’s done now. As shown here, I think any veteran player will have little difficultly getting to and finishing the nemesis easy enough no matter the talents but after loop 25 having a build that can quickly dispatch rogues is a must. If they live long enough to get their skills deployed it’s typically over. The addition of the busy little bee talent tells me they have no idea how this made is played. There is no time for stacking hits. If you don’t kill/burst down the enemy immediately you will soon find yourself dead.
I see they also nerfed the pestilence tick and lucky shot chem launcher stacking but have done nothing to smooth the difficulty spikes in the higher loops, particularly after loop 25 and 30. There is still nothing to counter the explosive damage which can kill a player in one-shot no matter the amount of armor obtained (even with a player running all defensive cores with level 10 leadership). Level 30+ rogues still have many millions of HP and are much more difficult and next to impossible to kill quickly now with a rotation like gluttony. You will also notice that with gluttony, the player has no ability to speed up reloads. Before the change, there was fast hands, incessant chatter and/or bullet hell but now nothing. The player no longer as the ability to improve reload speeds with gluttony. It seems the developers don’t play nor understand this mode.
I thought the developers wanted more players to get into Descent, but rather this change kills the mode. Can you imagine if they rotated the choices a RAID could be run with (this week you must run iron horse with only Alps, 5.11 etc.). There would be revolt. I fear there is simply not enough Descent players for the developers to hear what a bad decision this was. They need to revert this ASAP before it causes a permanent/significant loss of the Descent player-base.

pool was the thing none of us that ACTUALLY like the mode, and play deep into it, were asking for as a 'fix' for RNG and the issue of setting up a proper build for experimentation.
I would have rather they let us set our own pool ahead of a run vs their slap-dash bullcrap pool groupings.
I absolutely agree. Decent is the only game mode I actually enjoy but now I don’t even want to play it.

only nemmy and out for me and with the coms not working, I'm not even going to do that until they fix it.

mostly its just practice and positioning. you learn what has synergy, but that is forced/curtailed now with the pool.
take blues while you are learning and cover is your friend. try to wipe a door at spawn and pivot is basically the whole mode.

I chose doctor home, diamondback and chameleon exotic talents for my last decent run I did, then surgical, overwatch, and the entire bottom row for red talents. Blue talents was the entire top row plus entrench and preservation. optimized, extra, salvage, surge, destructive. if I had to choose a 6th yellow maybe capacitive. But yeah this talent pool definitely wasn't great but those are my picks.

When you get crap choices right at the start, i quit out and restart. They always change. Just had a 870 and decoy, later picked up revive hive and m1a, had like 5 or 6 opportunistic and used high velocity rounds... Bub bye nemesis! 🎉

Busy Little Bee paired with a Shotgun and Opportunistic can help debuff the bosses/buff yourself. helps with the horrible talent choices.
The talent pool ruined this mode. They should just add ways to earn what you want.

@@djtickle Any talent pool in this mode is antithetical to what it really is meant to be about. Just poor execution.
this whole pool idea is bad and the devs should revert it. not the 'fix' for excessive RNG they created. ruined the mode for people that enjoy playing past the nemesis and actually creating new builds.
scaling really needs to be adjusted past 25 and skills need a rework if they expect us to use them in the long game.
Thought you would have taken the riot foam so you could stick the Nemesis in place to hit them with the LMG
I used to do this, but in Descent I just don't find it reliable

I beat the nemesis after Loop 4, but i got no radio message!?
ya weekly project/com drop is not working atm.
I’ve tried it a few times and it just isn’t great. It supposed to be a cover based shooter but if you find cover it is quickly carpeted with fire bombs. They still spam you with skills but you can’t return the favor and getting back you health is limited at best. You can play up to the the first boss and get basically nothing if you die. Getting bum rushed by guys with shields also eliminates cover. I guess I just suck but there is no way I’m ever going to play this mod constantly
Busy little bee is not bad for nemesis just have a high rate of fire gun to swap to try and not swap so you have max stacks and boom 10 seconds of 200% weapon damage to try and melt him. Also the last group I noticed the messed with pestilence the tick disappears with weapons wasp now😢
plague nerf is a MEGA nerf to high level play. devs have zero clue about this mode.
they didn't fix chatter then bullethelll however.

I had an easy Nemesis kill by locking him into the explosive sticky and blinder firefly. Sticky bombs are easily avoidable if you're behind cover and blinder firefly is pretty harmless. I've been leaning against using the decoy because Nemesis can have pretty much any skill. As long as Nemesis can't heal, it's a straightforward fight.
CC against the nemmy = win. you don't even need talents or a stupid 'pool'. there are no 'builds' before the nemmy.
I always take skill tire, and take fome or fire starter, nemesis can't do anything. I never failed this way.
Decoy is a second skill if I manage to get it
The room rotation is terrible & frequently push you in to a 5th loop. Because it now seems so hard to get decent skills, I try to add the extra skill option early in the run. That's if I can be bothered playing now, having gone from running each of my char's every week to usually 1 & very infrequently 2 in the week, if the talent pool doesn't suck massively
Oh man it's absolutely horrible when Nemesis uses his restorer hive 😭 how to tackle that? Other than that it's been pretty easy for me to deal with him

The Jammer Pulse is also effective and kills any other other skills they have (as some are airborne and so nades won't work). Typically I try not to take any healing skill before the Nemesis and as they typically match (but not always) your skills so they won't have a restorer. I find a Jammer/disrupt and decoy with some skill tiers works best. The jammer will kill any skill they have and the decoy will distract them so you can shoot without getting hit.
they usually will move out of it or can be flushed out (nades).
chem heal launcher is actually nightmare mode if you dont have solid CC.
So apparently you get this arm patches at this stages of Descent. Maybe you can do a video on that. Maybe?

So they want players to play decent by adding a talent pool rotation ??? First they strip all you have making you start from scratch , which is ok BUT after players actually found out ways to enjoy decent they take away the talent option that can actually get you far ??? WHY ? What's the idea behind the talent rotation ? I don't get it .

I just can't get into this game mode, I've tried. But after all the time spent grinding to collect gear and min max builds it just seems pointless.
I hate that they lock certain things into certain game modes or areas in order to obtain.

@@djtickle yeah those lol. Tried decent when it came out, hated it. Then when they announced exclusive blueprints for rewards I tried it again, still hated it. I just feel like if you have to content lock things behind a certain game mode to get people to play it , it's just not that good.
Other games have done it, and it's usually in a game mode that isn't universally liked by the majority player base.

No special rewards just rotation of talents
They should put more nsa credits in it.just not worth the time and effort.
Alot of people saying its to hard to farm NSA credits currently.

On the exotics alone, HARD PASS on Gluttony. I stopped playing descent as soon as they introduced rotation. Absolutely SHITE of an idea.
Some of these rotations are terrible.
@@djtickle so far there have only been 2. Envy is basically all the standard 'shooty' talents minus bloodsucker. Gluttony is just dogshit.

Playing with this talent pool was horrific. The only talents that actually were useful was Optimist and Vigilance, and the very situational Busy Little Bee exotic talent. Nothing decent for weapon handling because not in rotation...

we got Envy again, so I really don't know what they hell is going on with the rotation, and if those are the only 2 or if there are more, or if those will come later... or what. Maybe in 3 days we will see how it goes.
Gluttony is terrible and skill builds are awful generally speaking in Descen, especially for the Nemmy (your skill tiers buff them, and most skills you might want to use in the long game aren't good to bring into the nemmy fight or don't benefit from more skill damage/tiers anyway).
tell the developers they need to fix the goddam medkit its bug its not healing at using first or second medkit sometimes it need 3 medkit to heal max armor. tell them they need to fix their goddam failure once again.

Why not just put them all into rotation
Devs have almost ruined the mode
Medkits dont always work
Skills still glitch out
Enemies still glitch through floor
Or stand still in doorway (or come out way late )

@@djtickle and I really want to use efficient with the insta-kits, but the pool makes it so I dont even want to bother to play deep. I also wanted to see if I could make energize work with the instant kit to explore what you can abuse with overcharge, but it hasn't even been allowed as a yellow talent yet. =/

This mode just ain’t it. Not sure who’s idea it was. Seems like they’re following the rogue like trend. They should try to innovate and stop doing what others do

I wouldn't blame Division devs since they are very limited in manpower. Also they made one of the best rogue like activity ever, i mean survival mode in Div 1 ofc

@@djtickle allow us to exclude talents like vampire survivors. also make it so things you reroll can't come up again.
or create our own custom 'pools' to RNG from.
I'd also make everything rerollable since skills and weapons are just as frustrating to deal with as talents when it comes to putting together a build.
finally they need to speed up the mode- 1 wave always and only 2 forend of loop boss. And make it 2 or 3 picks per room of talents.
the fun is in ACTUALLY putting together weird builds you can't otherwise make. this pool not only doesn't let me decide, they also are shitty combos in the first place.
