This rifle delivers many powerful shots from it's 8-shot rotary clip, powered by an 88-gram CO2 tank. After you see the nice groupings this air rifle delivers along with it's nice finish, weight and feel, you're going to want to test it for yourself! - Sport
This review is exactly what I had asked you, especially for this steel finish version...thanks so much Paul!
Good to see you back Paul
Awesome! I've been waiting for you guys to do a review on this gun!
Another great video! Keep up the good work...
thank you for this video! This gun will be my first air rifle.
Excellent video Sir ! Gonna but one in the New Year 🇬🇧🇺🇸
I'm really glad you mentioned that the front sight hood could be removed, it's the one feature of this 'replica' that I don't like. Umarex do make a 'John Wayne' variant without the hood as standard, but that comes with the famous 'True Grit' enlarged loop lever. I also wish they did a version that has a case hardened look receiver (they do a nice antiqued brass receiver on the 'John Wayne' version though). Thanks for an interesting review.
Dang nice shooting for 30 feet with open sights. Nice work Paul.
Excellent and very informative review.
Yes they are pricey here in the UK too.
Nice job on another favorite! Walther makes a scope mount for this, but you need to use a longish scope, as the scope ends up a bit forward. The Walther 4x32 scope works well. This is one air rifle that you will kick yourself for not getting sooner. It is accurate and works flawlessly. Mine likes JSB Match Diabolo Exact .177 Cal, 8.4 Grains, Domed pellets.
Great product love it
That's a sweet gun
I received mine yesterday and bought a 500 rnd pellet box.
until now I have 424 shots with one 88g, and no sign of weakness!!! i think I will be able to empty a complete 500rnds box of pellet!, still pierce soup can at 23 feet on my last shot of today!, so still powerfull on the 424th shot!, I am using 88g crosman co2
Hi! Do you still own it?
wow that is awesome!
cool gun,good video.
If you search for "PY-A-145" on our site, you will find extra magazines.
Thanks,
Pyramyd Air Team
I got the 1866 BB an pellet Love it
The nice thing about my marlin 39A is no need to worry about co2 and with 20 grains and at 590 fps made by aquila powderless rounds some misfires but put it back in and will fire little more expensive at about $6.00 for 50 rounds but than no need for co2s
Nice rifle
People complaining about the price….what you're paying for is german quality…this gun will last decades if you look after it.
Generally Germans don't know shit about quality.
Walther does though, they are the exception to the rule. As are Mauser in terms of weapon manufacturers.
DressedWings German guns have good quality, but now umarex Produces guns under lincense and Ruin good names
@@DressedWings, The excellent German craftsmen were carving excellent Coo-coo clocks in the Black Forest before Hitler messed things up. Dr. Fernand Porsche came up with a plan for a car that most people could afford, the People's car (Volkswagen.) It was a genius idea to place the engine over the drive wheels because it increased traction. There are many other examples of German engineering and craftsmanship.
@@arrlmember The idea of a car that could be owned by the masses was a concept that existed far before Porsche rubbed his brain with Hitler. The cost of the Beetle was a few reichsmarks off a base Ford Model A/B. The idea that the German state was saviors of the working class / poor was propaganda to secure Hitlers position.
The VW Beetle design was definitely a good automobile for the mid '30s but when they adapted it to a combat vehicle in the Kubelwagen it became apparent that the relatively weak rear engined RWD was a poor choice even for dirt roads and they had to throw a 4wd in their vehicles when they had the resources.
There are just as many examples of poor German engineering and "craftsmanship" as good, especially during the mid 20th century.
@@DressedWings The concept of the assembly line came about after Henry Ford toured a Chicago slaughterhouse. Actually the slaughterhouse was a disassembly line, but Ford understood the concept. However, the economy and other factors were different in Germany. The word Volkswagen means people's car (folk's wagon.)
Dr. Porsche had a good idea, with only two faults that could not have been known at the time. While the increased traction of the engine over the drive wheels IS an excellent idea, he put it in the wrong end. If your steering and traction are both up front, it does not matter if the rear end slides a little in corners. The other issue, which made it worse, is that the engine was not exactly over the drive wheels, it was BEHIND them. That made it easy for the rear end to drift. Ignorant people have said that the Kraut Can is top heavy and rolls easily, only because they were going too fast around corners in top gear with their foot on the brake. Rear engine cars with automatic transmissions are IMPOSSIBLE to control. Now that in excess of 90% of the people that think they know how to operate a motor vehicle prefer an automatic transmission to actually learning how to drive, front wheel drive is extremely important. We can thank Dr. Porsche for the traction portion of that advantage.
There were many brilliant German scientists. It is fortunate for the world that the Nazis hated Jews so much that they did not believe any Jew's thoughts were worth considering. That is why the inventor of the atomic bomb had to escape from his homeland. The world would be a different place today if the Nazis had kept that brilliant German Jew.
Good job :-)
Best starling hunting rifle ever keeps the little buggers of the bird feeder drops em like stones with chest shots under 14 m there toast
Very good gun, i have shot maybe 250 rounds through mine now, 0 problems mechanically, except that for some reason i could not use my old 88g CO2 flask i had laying around, it is maybe ten years old and has a muzzle that is too short to fit the rifle
The only thing that could make this gun better is a larger magazine and slightly taller fiberoptic sights
Also i sort of want a straighter stock with a soft butt
Looks like fun! Shame they’re illegal here.
did Pyramydair sell the 2x 12g co2 adaptor? The adaptor that replace the 88g capsule? it as the same shape as the 88g, but can contain two 12g co2 bottles
I use my refurbished marlin model 39A and use primer only bullets at 590 fps quite and fun to shoot my serial number puts it somewhere in the 50s hard to tell numbers all worn out
Very nice looking rifle, but it's so expensive for what it is. I bet those large CO2 canisters aren't cheap either.
Cool
I like this ! Yeeeehaah !!!😀👍
what a beaty, what about a PCP .23 cal version using the same mechanism?
any idea where I can get the thread adapter to fit a silencer or muzzle break to my Walther leaver action Wells Fargo model, I can only find one in Russia and they wont ship to the uk.
One sweet gun but do u make it pellet only. I.dont like co2
So what was the price??? Can you leave the co2 in it for how long?????
I'm a bit torn on whether I should buy a real deal lever action rifle or this.
For several reasons, you are likely to shoot thousands of more rounds with an airrifle, than with a powder firing one. (Build quality of this rifle is excellent, so that is not a consideration.)
It's pronounced wall-ther, but other than that great review of a very well crafted rifle
Brady Moore no he said it right. Walther is a German name and he pronounced it the correct German way.
has anyone tested the proton 3x 88g air replacement cylinder for the 88g co2 cylinder. i am using one in my walther lever action rifle. i dont like co2. i never shoot over 300 shots. the co2 leaks out over night. i like the 3x. the cylinder can be pumped to 200bar. but it seems the walther wont operate with a pressure over 95bar. i get about 60 good shots at 95bar.. has anyone got the walther to work with over 100bar?
Hi Sir. At 5:58 or so, you say something that sounds like "I removed the globe on the front side". English not being my first language and as I dot know the first thing about rifles, could you explain to me what was removed? Thank you.
Luce, "If you look closely you'll see I removed the globe (hood) on the front sight."
if buying as im in the uk, what advantages has the 88grm over 12 grm; ie; do they leak less if not used a while,Are the newer ones made better, less problems ?
They last for hundreds more shots
nice review, thanks from Germany!
I am contemplating getting the new Umarex Legends Cowboy Renegade version, but appearantly it has way poorer build quality, looking into long term reviews right now...
Right on!
The trigger on the vaulter
You can buy a Henry lever action for the same money.
Mark Jones for less. I did.
Not if you're a Felon !!!
I have the blue one and love it, super accurate and i get better numbers then you got Paul HaHa. ;-)
the umarex is very good 30 shot full auto $150
Very nice review!
The only thing I do not like about this rifle is it's tiny appearance (especially the mid parts). I was looking forward to it very long, but when I saw it in the store it looked like a toy next to some brake barrel rifles. Does it have the scale of the original one?
it is the same skale. the first lever actions shot pistol rounds and were somewhat small. but you are looking for something like a .30-30 size or a .45-70 huh? i would keep searching
Robin OfLocksly yes, that size you mentioned is pretty much what I was looking for.
I really want the Wells Fargo gold edition of this rifle I heard the newest one comes with a kit to switch from 88gram to 12 gram co2's I personally hate using the big co2's because 1 there to expensive close to 30$ for 2 ; and 2 they last a bit to long I ain't gonna go through a hole tin of pellets in one plinking session I hate leaving a co2 in on the count of damage to the seals so many times I was going to get this but as also a real gun owner there are tons of real steel I can get on the market this shouldn't be no more then 300$ to 400$ tops not a whopping 1000$ plus that's insane when I got my umarex beretta m92fs nickel with wood pellet gun I hated giving a big 400$ let alone I own many airguns and as a big time collector it's not worth it
Larry Williams ggg get
Do you have a way to change the O-ring?
Almost bought one but I figured I can get a Henry 22 caliber lever action for less and don’t have to mess with CO2.
Good luck shooting your firearm in your neighborhood. Guess you missed the point of this gun.
phantomshTTer Good point of not being able to shoot a firearm in the backyard. This CO2 lever action would be good for the backyard.
@pyramydair is this a good rifle for hunting squirrels and rabbits?
Dear Santa....
Will you recommend this rifle as a good pest control? If not do you have any other recommendations?
Elmer Castillo This is not a hunting rifle, it is very underpowered, there are co2 hand guns that have more velocity than this, it is a fun plinker, nothing more
MrDinvader is there any co2 airgun for small game under 450 tho?
Can these be modded for hunting 11-12flb
We do not carry those.
Thanks,
Pyramyd Air Team
where can i buy this?
Clips?
I have a winchester 30-30 that is exactly like this except it shoots bullets
But can you shoot it in your backyard without the neighbors calling the cops on you?
I’m tired of making Umarex carp right all you had to do was put a rifled barrel on the other one
can we buy this gun in india
As always, good video. But I think for the price,And it's price is $600!.Too much money for old glory of this company.regards.
Did they stop making that rifle? I find the black one, but don't see the gold colored one with the western scene, this one which I would love to have, or the Duke big lever model. What's the deal?!
***** I ordered the black one. I looked everywhere and couldn't find any in the US.
What kind of rest do you use in your videos? where can I get one?
Daniel-I use Caldwell Dead Shot shooting rests.
Hi Daniel - we carry a similar gun rest - www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Shooters_Ridge_Monkey_Bag_Gun_Rest/2793
🙄 88 g. Co2 cartridge? Sure you can find those anywhere.
Daisy Powerline 15XT. But for a bb gun might be a bad choice, you might miss the persons head.
Can a scope be mounted on this fine looking gun?
gaskan666 yes u could
can I hunt for birds and rabbits with this? will I have any of success?
The feet per second(FPS) on this CO2 rifle are a little on the low side to make it a true hunting airgun. You will have better luck if you look for something with +700fps in a .22 caliber. Start here: www.pyramydair.com/a/Air_guns/Air_rifles/150/calibers_0_22
pyramydair I won't have success with birds at all it's a lever action and it's so fast to shoot that's conmfy for me.
Its enough for mice, rats, small birds.... would not shoot rabbits with this.
Except the action is different it kinda a mix
wow price not so awesome
will it kill a bird?
if you hit it right.. yes. but hey, a small stone thrown from hand is deadly enough for some birds
1984 or 1894?
1894
can we tweak it ??? ;)
Yes u need to put a heavier hammer spring in it and also u need to mill out the transfer port a bit but be carefull as its a delicate job u gain about 200fps more and a frend of mine bored the rifleing out for the first 6 inches of the barrel to reduce bore friction but im not sure it did much tbh its not accurate anymore either
Its one stunning gun but overpriced
Why would this gun cost $500 its not even a pressure air gun
VALL ther??
Yep walta is how i say it but some folks call em valter walther germans say valter so i guess thats the correct pronounced way of saying it
Are you german?
Do the weihrauch HW90. In .22 cal. No one ever does gas rams
Way to much money
Make it PCP... And Sweet Jesus...
Why, oh why have they not done this yet!?
Where can I find a FULLY AUTOMATIC BB gun for personal defense? I can't own a real gun so am exploring my options. Also, could anyone direct me to the website selling semi-automatic sling shots? Appreciate it.
Those are magazines... NOT clips!!!! *Sigh* 2020 and supposed gun experts STILL can't use proper parts terminology.
That's more of a marlin 1894 replica I know because I have a real one
NO! The Marlin has side ejection, and therefore is scopeable. The Winchester has top ejection and can only work with an offset side mount for a scope.
Wow, I guess some people will pay anything if they want it huh? I can get a fucking Sig for that price. What a joke.
What a terrible marksman, I own the same gun and i can plink half inch steel targets all day in an 8th of the time, and that is unsupported and standing......
MrDinvader Well aint you the big head, I suppose the existence of anyone who can shoot better than you proves that you're a 'terrilbe marksman'?
Paul T No.
Hold on let me ring the medal shop
Tell that to simo häyhä
MrDinvader Good for you! Good job we’re not all the same though 😉👍
Both Winchester and Marlin bent over for the democrats and put in a useless cross bolt "safety." The half cock safety can be seen while you are holding it in the firing position, whereas the cross bolt cannot. I have an old Marlin 3336 SC in .219 Zipper that does not have this useless feature. If I were to buy a new lever action, it would be a Henry. That's why I would not buy this thing.
177 cal. ?
Ca - an't Kilt no BAR Witt that .
Why what-cha need a have is a .22 cal .
NOW ... That'll gitt His attention ....
And it's a darn good thing that's a genuine Y .
Hardwood Stock on the end "O" that there Carbine y .
On account of when that BAR gets a wind were them pellets
Are a coming from , Well ... He's a GONNA want something to chew on Directly .
And a lesson them whippersnappers got a plug of Chaw on them right there and then .
Least Way's till someone Kahn go and fetch his pa .
Shoot ain't had this much fun .
Since my Pa give me my Daisy mdle 1879 Buffalo Bill edtn. BB. Lever Action Repeater
NH, They it is bro, Rat Own.
Why does it have that useless cross-bolt safety? Winchester and Marlin bent over for the democrats when they that on their lever actions, but Henry (the original lever action) never did. If this thing has a half-cock safety that would be far superior because it can be seen while shooting.
