When he said he first posted a video in 2019, i was actually BAFFLED
Never seen his content and only learned of him like 2 years ago but i always thought he was an OG youtuber with the dedicated community he had or that he had been on youtube for at least like 6-8 years. Jesus christ, he grew so big in such a short amount of time

dream rly blew up during the lockdown w the dsmp and his manhunts haha, hes shared that he rly studied the algorithm and worked hard for those streams/videos, and like he said, it was "a little bit of skill, a little bit of luck" :)) i rmb like once after a new manhunt he gained like 1 mil new subs in a week, it was rly crazy, his grew big rly quick but still remains so sweet lol
I remember watching Dream before he was extremely popular. I think it was the joke video about Pewd’s house.
I knew he was new because every Fortnite dancing child was suddenly yelling about "Dreamwastaken" overnight.

Literally an average dude who is insanely good at Minecraft, getting hate because he did what they wanted and face revealed. It's pretty cool to see Dream on WIRED, though :D
He got hate because he's a liar and cheated in minecraft for clout... No one was angry he didn't reveal his face for so long, that is his personal right.
Pretty sure he is hated because he cheats, lies, and belittles his audience by telling them they are just "too dumb to understand" or "idiots" for thinking he is a cheater (which is 100% mathematically true, he is a cheater, who continues to not admit he's a cheater or liar) so yeah I do believe he earned all the hate he recieved.
