- Here is an in depth video on how everything is looking during the middle of August for 2023! I really feel like everything is starting to come together now, and I can focus on buttoning up areas that haven't been planted, and watch the rest fill in!
Thank you all so much for coming along on this journey with me!

Thank you for the tours! I really like the island bed in your mom's back yard. And I love the Chocoholic Black Snakeroot in your dad's back yard, had not heard of that plant! And the Japanese White Pine next to the Pink Muhly Grass, wow. Those are both so beautiful and look great next to each other. Especially when the grass really starts turning pink! Your parents must love having a gardener for a son!
I’m turning them into plant lovers 😉😂 but it’s been really fun working on these two gardens over the last few years!
I also want a small smoke bush for the foliage only😂.
Joshua I love your mom's garden. How lucky she is to have a son who is an amazing young gardener!
I try 😅 but thank you very much!!
Thanks for the tour Josh. The banana plants look great!
Thanks!! I haven’t been cutting the suckers and I’m debating if I should continue to for the rest of the season… 🤔
That honeysuckle is sooooooo good. I could smell it from 20 feet away the other day!
They are!! The idea was to be able to walk through the scent, and it’s been working quite well!
@@JoshuasGarden now we need another arch.
Edge of night is on my list to find
I found it at a garden center in south county for $20 each!!! I couldn’t believe it! That was back in May though
Remember after planting you should wait before deciding to remove a plant
First year it sleeps
Second year it creeps
Third year it leaps
Your off to a beautiful start
Cheyenne Spirit coneflower at your dad's is to much shade it wants full sun also floppy due to top heavy needs dead headed to take weight off plus put new blooms on then leave the last batch of blooms on for Finches
Looking good. Thanks for the tour. I must have missed it somehow but where are you going to school and what major?
I go to the University of Rhode Island for Plant Sciences!
What can you do for Japanese beetle 😬
Unfortunately a systemic treatment of imidacloprid, I use rosecare from espoma. That preventatively treats the plants for 8 weeks, but there are organic options that will kill Japanese beetles on the spot
Joshua could you please list the plants you put in your mom's garden I want a couple of the plants you plants but can't catch the name
Maybe I can formulate a list of what I have planted so far… I’ll need a bit of time but I’ll try to get back to you on it! If there’s a few specific things give me a time in the video and I can let you know!
Love the tour. I vote lose the birch tree.
Yeah… It isn’t super far from the specific anyways so it probably is a good idea
