Greetings. Very nice and informative video. Thanks for this. Question though: is the device on "stand by" automatically? Like, is there some setting i'm missing to switch it to only activate it when motion detection? Or is it always on until it needs to record activity? Basically i'm just trying to find out if i need to put it in a mode where it only is on when there's activity. I have yet to see it turn off after putting it up outside, but it has been windy. And i think it turned itself off when we tested it inside.
Thanks for the very nice feedback, but can't remember any more. I get so many bird feeder to test so I habe to give them away later and don't keep them here so I can't answer follow-up questions usually ... very sorry. Just in general ... they work exactly like battery operated security cameras with PIR, so they are always in "sleep" unless you "wake" it up by connecting with wifi from the app or from the PIR sensor (can of course also be false alerts from wind when branches are moving). Hope that helps a bit
Yes - no pics are saved without a micro SD card or expensive cloud subscription. Definitely worth to invest $6 into a micro SD card. Here a great 2 pcs set: SanDisk 32GB (Pack of 2): amzn.to/41zyJan. Make sure you buy good quality like this one
@@allcheckout - Hi, I just purchased the new Scandisks, and the wire so I can convert them to fat32. I did this successfully and installed it on the camera. My trouble is viewing what I've already recorded on the cameras disk that was recorded the previous month. Windows won't open any of the videos or pictures (.jpeg). Which application should I download to play the old disk back?
I am beginning to think If I want to review the old unformatted pics, I will have to reinstall the old disk back in the camera, and use that app? And can I look at any video or pics on my pc? If so what app? Windows won't open any of these pics/videos. Please let me know. Thanks.
@@cdsorvinyl Oh - you haven't installed and connected it to the Birdlover App???? (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.birdlover&hl=en_US&gl=US). It's essential for the recording. Yes maybe you can see the images on the app, but maybe nothing was recorded without the app connected. I'm using Google photos on my phone and there I've activated automatic backups for the gallery folder of the Birdlover app, so whenever I record something in the app, it will be available on photos.google.com and from there I download it in the browser to my PC. Unfortunately the Birdlover App doesn't work int the Bluestacks Android emulation.
@@cdsorvinyl Maybe they use some kind of encryption to store the footage on the card, then there's nothing you can do apart from maybe using it again in the camera with the app
You might want to incorporate in your training that all of initial setup is much easier if you remove the camera From the feeder housing by rotating it mighty degrees and listening the thumb screw that secures it to the housing.
How do you turn the camera off completely? No matter the position of the switch on the camera, I still get the video feed/notifications on the app, so it seems like it's permanently on. Is there another way?
Hello, I just purchased and set up my new device but the Smart Ai Recognition Bird Feeder Book doesn't really explain how to use the app. Do you know of where I can get a more detailed instruction book?
Maybe not enough power from solar or too far away from the router? Some of these bird feeders have quite some limited wireless range despite the large antennas.
Trying to articulate our issue Our home Internet is 5G App won’t connect as I believe camera is designed for less than 5G -- 2.4 i believe. Any trouble shooting/insights would be appreciated.
I may have made a mistake. I went to the link you sent to me to buy the SD card you recommended. Amazon gave me an alert that that a new version was available, so I followed that link and bought a 64GB SD card. My app now says on the Playback button: "Your camera has no storage device. Use a FAT32 memory card." Does that mean that the feeder camera can't manage a 64 GB card, only can use a 32GB card? Thank you very much.
Sorry for the delay in reply. I think it can manage cards up to 128 GB or even larger. Hence no problem with the card you bought. Just format it to FAT32 in your computer or using the app. This should be possible ... at least I think. Otherwise download rufus and format it to fat32 on your PC. With Windows 11 I think you could even do it without the Rufus tool
LOL ... Yeah works also as a surveillance camera ... not good to take girls home when the wife is away 🤣🤣🤣. You can delete single events directly in the app when you check the event history or remove the micro SD card and then format it in the PC or just delete all files ;-))
@@allcheckout - Haha, don't have to worry about that anymore. It seems that the 'history' files have all of the video that was recorded since day 1. I can hardly remove the card, it is really hard to remove it. I do delete the 'views', mostly because the squirrel is on for hours!!! But I find just filling the tray is more practical. I love the system and it was great birthday gift. Just wanted to thank you for your video. Excellent!!
@@allcheckout - I purchased the new SanDisk cards, but do I have tomformatbthem? If yes how?? They will not fit in any slot on any computer I have. Please advise!! Thanks!
@@cdsorvinyl Just add it to the bird feeder and it should work without formatting in 99% of the cases. If not - you still have the option to format it in the bird feeder itself (there's a function for that in the app). Maybe for the future you can buy a USB micro sd card reader for $7 on Amazon (amzn.to/3BrnOVN) ... just in case ... it's always good to have one ;-))
has anyone successfully shared the device? using androids, I connected each of 2 phones and it worked fine. but only 1 at a time. when I tried to share the device it errors out saying the account cannot be found. very frustrating
Camera slips out. How do get it to stay? I didn’t get a SD card. Help please.
Yes it comes without the micro SD card, but you can get a good quality 32GB for below $10: amzn.to/47gxEac. But my cam never slipped out. That's weird

Can you use the qr code on old cell phones or cameras 2 use multiple devices?
Yes you can add multiple bird feeders in the app
Frequent message stating camera is offline! I have to completely reset the feeder to get it to start working. Any ideas on this?
wow .. sorry to hear, but I don't have it any more sorry, but was nice as far as I remember. Can you move it closer to the wifi router?

What makes the camera go offline requiring a reset of entire thing?

Yeah like 99% of the security cameras, also the bird feeder cams usually only work with 2.4g to have more wireless range ...

Is there any way to delete pictures in the history on the app?
I think so, but can't remember where ... The other option is to no bring the girlfriend home when the wife is not at home .... lol .. just kidding
OK serious .... go to "messages" then "all news" .... then "edit" ... and there you can delete the pics
Yes I knew that but that doesn’t touch any of the pictures in the history..it takes them all from the messages…

Are you on 2.4g and also connected to the same wifi with your phone and not using a VPN?
