Was this the most bizarre ending to a championship match you’ve ever seen?
Thank you for the immediate post for those who did not add enough time on their DVR!!!
Totally
Forget championship. This is bizarre to see in league, let alone pros!
Who else cried.
@@robertcuratolo5339 yes I did and witnessed it live at Bayside
The fact that wes let duke throws the last shot. Brought tears to my eyes. The sportsmanship showcased by wes mallott.
Same here, but Wes has been his doubles partner for years which made it even cooler.
I'm not crying, you are.
Same. By far one of the most beautiful moments in sports.
The look Norm gave Wes when he had him up off the ground 😆
Tears? Lmao. Get some help.
The sporting world needs more people like Norm! Class act!
did he not retire? so much for that,
Stormin' Norman, The Wee Iceman, Norm Duke, what a career, what a legend. We love you!!!
So much respect for Kyle at the end with his comment regarding Arturo and MVP Trophy. Much respect. Great final. 🙏
What an amazing finish.
Norm Duke = Class and professionalism and legend .
Thank you Norm for 40 incredible years . DUKE DUKE DUKE👍❤️🙏👍👍👍👍
Bizarre. Strange. Unbelievable. Exciting. Emotional. Adjectives not usually used for the sport of bowling but all very appropriate for this championship match! What a crowd! What an atmosphere! And What a send off for Norm! And The Big Nasty let Norm throw the last shot……and of course Norm struck!
WOW!!
This was one of the craziest endings since Belmonte's two 7-10s to lose to Simonsen in a major.
Everything right with bowling happened here except an inconsolable Matt Ogle. Man I hope he bounces back. Can't wait to see Packy's vlog though
Hoping Ogle kills it in the All Star thing they have next weekend, or whatever it is where the top guy from each team competes for a win. Can't remember if it's the All Star Challenge or Strike Derby (pretty sure he's on both shows) but that will be redemption for him. As much as I felt bad for Duke, the pain for Ogle practically breaks my heart.
I did not love Tommy Jones' reaction to his brooklyn that won the first game. Brooklyn's are part of bowling man, you shouldn't be down on your own teammate when he seals the win in that game. Felt like Matt was trying to justify himself to TJ
@@elock i feel it was more toward Matt's reaction to it but yea that felt awkward just watching TJ's reaction
He made a good shot that should have struck. Missing the spare didn’t help but it most likely would not have made a difference.
Well Ogle almost pulled off the win for the Strike Derby haha.
Kris Prather missing that 9 pin is so unbelievable, I'd think it was scripted if I didn't know any better. But I do, and the pros always have trouble shooting spares with this crowd so I'm not surprised.
Also, I did tear up seeing Norm throw that last shot. He's my all-time favorite, sad to see him retire
Yeah...Duke is my fav of all the legends. The fact he can still throw such a beautiful ball at 58 is incredible.
PBA50 & 60 he is still going to tear it up!
Kris is a really good spare shooter, too. Makes it even more shocking
@@TopKirby8305 he completely retired from bowling, he isnt bowling the pba50 or the pba60 tour.
God I wish I watched this live. This is definitely one of the best PBA telecasts in my lifetime. So many things came together for an insane show.
I was in the crowd and the atmosphere in the building does not reflect how it looked on TV. It was LOUD and there were plenty of tears shed for Norm.
@@Bowler4Ever That’s so awesome, I need to go to Bayside Bowl one day
@@Bowler4Ever thats awesome, bayside is definitely on my travelers bucketlist
How can you not Love Norm. He's one of the good guys. Love ya Norm , thank you for all of the great memories.
That last 4 frames was absolutely bananas.
I think it is probably safe to say we won't see an ending like THIS again.
The match was over so it didn’t matter, but Wes could nearly have opened the 10th with a pocket 7-10. Crazy game.
Wow that ending was wild. The pressure got to the pros in the end....wow
I met Norm Duke and had dinner with him at a Bowl Expo around 2008. What a GREAT Guy!
Thank you, Norm! And Congrats to the Lumberjacks! What an amazing finish, and that ending was crazy!!!
This has to be the greatest match in bowling history!
Best finish of all. Farewell norm will be missed but never forgotten great watching you and congratulations to all the great bowlers
i’ve never seen something more this sport needed than this
Excellent job of Fox Sports in compressing this competition. That made it very watchable and fast moving. The last half of the final match was unusual, embarrassing, and exciting. It was a masterpiece in choking.
Choking? I suppose you wouldn't do exactly the same thing.
@@TheMk1960 I don't whiff the 9 pin!
@@drwisdom1 Prove it.
@@TheMk1960 it was a “ choke” what would u call ?? Missing 1 pin spares is unexpected!!
Chris Prather hahahaha!!!! That’s a 99.9 shot!!
Then green haired guy whips 7 pin!!!!!!!
Spare me!!!
@@drwisdom1 I whiff the 7 like Matt Ogle did LOL.
The best thing besides norm and his legendary career was definitely Arturo and his energy through out the matches lol definitely made it more entertaining if it wasn’t already
I was really surprised he didn't get MVP
@@doomusrlc he got the trophy in the end
That was the best televised bowling event ever. From the pros turning into Joe's to Troup giving his mvp trophy away to Dukes last strike. Wow. Go Team house bowler Packy
ill give it 2nd place. 2012 US open is single handedly the best PBA TV cast of all time
all i can say is wow! congrats to lumberjacks! and what a career for norm duke...i was a fan of his from the start back in the day!
Honestly the craziest ending since Del Ballard guttered against Pete Weber
I'm a Grandma watching from New Zealand. Wow what a comp ending. Watched you over the years Norm. Thank you for the entertainment!
My two favorites of all time: Wes and Norm. Wonderful ending for me. Thanks for posting this!
I was cutting onions when Norm threw that last shot. And what a class act the whole Portland team was, especially Wes and Tim...
WTH just happended there. You couldn´t have written that script... Congrats to the Lumberjacks, and Good luck Norm, we´ll miss you - a true legend of the game. Hope you keep being the Dallas Strikers manager.
Man the agony of defeat......man this exciting from start to finish....one of the wildest endings. Indeed I shed a couple tears at the end....man what a series!!!!
I don’t want Norm Duke to be done. A joyous moment highlighting an incredible career as a bowler…..
We all love you Norm! And I just started bowling last year.
Great way for Norm to go out! EPIC!
the lumberjacks team is so stacked like its crazy lol
We're all going to miss you Norm, you are a true legend.
Really he’s retiring? I thought he said he wouldn’t retire.
Thank you Norm ❤
WOW! What an ending! So exciting. Norm Duke, man it's sad we wont get to see him continue to bowl. What a legend. Thank you Norm.
Isn’t this kind of crowd atmosphere way more fun than having them be golf course/tennis court quiet?
This is the part where I would normally write "I'm not crying you're crying"...But no not today...Today I am crying. Good ole Norm Duke
Crowd felt like I was watching wrestlemania or something. Awesome energy. No way I could bowl that hyped. 😂
That was a great Elias Cup Finals Showdown! Game 5 was crazy because there was some splits and missed spares! Congrats to the Portland Lumberjacks on 3 peat and also congrats to Norm Duke for closing out his legendary bowling career with a strike in the last frame! FOX Sports has a great bowling telecast and great announcers like Rob Stone, Dave Ryan, and the one and only Randy Pedersen! And of course the beautiful laneside reporter Kimberly Pressler! Great Job FOX Sports! 👏🎳
Thank you Norm Duuuuuuuuuke. You are an inspiration to me and so many. God bless you on the second chapter of your career.
Norm Duke is a living legend, weber, pb3, wrwj absolute legends
Legend in Norm retiring is very sad an amazing 40 years
Lesson of the day kids, make your spares. Never take a shot off. Every shot requires complete attention.
28:19 Pretty much sums it up!😵💫
What sportsmanship, duke is a legend of this sport and had an amazing career.
The best crowd and this bowling tournament was wild and insane 😳 👏!!
That's the craziest ending in the PBA in a very, very, very long time!!
Norm Duke. Thank you for 40 years of entertainment on the lanes. One word to describe Norm Duke extraordinary. Awesome. Spectacular. You will be missed.
What an unbelievable ending!! 🤯🤯🤯 and to the legend Norm Duke we will truely miss you bowl on national tv.
What an amazing crowd, what a crazy ending, and what a career for Norm Duke! Class act from start to finish. Nice of Wes to let Norm throw that last ball.
This is the most insane match I've ever seen.
Larga vida a la leyenda viviente Norm Duke 🙏
That was crazy!!!!
That ending was amazing.
Nothing could have prepared me for the ending. Absolutely ridiculous breaks for both teams.
Youve got to be kidding me! What a match!!
Emotional scenes... farewell norm, you're gonna be missed!
Glad to have seen this live.
that was absolutely crazy!
Can't wait to see the Brad and Kyle vlog on this given as how their cameraman was speechless at 28:25
Congratulations Norm Duke!
I was on the edge of my seat. Great match! UNBELIEVABLE ENDING!!
Like the format of alternating frames
Craziest finish I can remember since the title match at the 1986 King Louie Open!
This is so fun!
Norm Duke..You ARE THE MAN
Theres no doubting that was fun to watch! How Bout Duke, G.O.A.T. status huge heart/ambassador for bowling!
why am i crying over norm duke :( I really only got into bowling seriously about a year ago at the age of 26. My mom has been bowling in house shot leagues since i was 16 and now that i do it I have made some great friends. I can only imagine as doubles partners as well how much that final shot to norm meant especially coming from his long time partner big nasty
I was there LIVE it was beyond nuts
WE LOVE YOU NORM
Que final !!!!!!
Huge props for the lumberjacks to let Duke throw that last strike for his retirement. Absolute true sportsmanship and im sad even to this day that he retired
WOW !!
Is there a bowler in PBA history that's more loved than Norm Duke? I can't think of anyone. He's been my idle since I was a kid. Great career Norm!
Congrats to the Lumberjacks on their win.
24:45 this is where the craziness started. Rollercoaster of a game.
I'm sad that I won't see him bowling anymore, but congratulations on his wonderful retirement
最後のショット!カッコ良すぎ☆☆☆
I didn't know Norm is Retiring I met him where I work years ago I believe in 2014 great guy great bowler
He retired from the tour a few months back and now retired from PBA league as well.
@@theinsaneshecklador6598 is he going to bowl on the PBA50 tour? I hope so.
Dang thought Wes just gonna make 5 pins on that last frame. Insane match though
Holy mother, do you think Arturo went home with that MVP trophy? - I mean he prolly did deserve it, and massive props to Troup for saying so!
amazing match.
Norm duke is class personified
What an ending
Totally should’ve been Arturo’s MVP. But congrats to Norm on an amazing career. We’ll miss you.
it was alson let norm duke thru last ball of tourment thank evething your did for pba
"i think this is supposed to go to arturo" lmao
Juegazo!!!!!
The start was a bit wild with all those solid 10s...
Thank You Norm
I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying! 😢
Love the energy from the crowd. It crazy. Get you pumped up
That was a crazy ending. I’m going to miss watching Norm.
That ending was insane! I mean after they tied for 2 points, i was hoping that the Dallas Strikers would win, if Norm didn’t miss the split in the 1st frame, Santuu with the 2-10 split and Matt missing the 7 pin, man
wow !
There will never be a bowling match like this again.
Good grief... was there a 12 drink minimum for that crowd?? 🤣🤣🤣
I cried so hard
I also loved that Kyle Troup was like uhh, “No I think this is supposed to go to Arturo”. When he got the MVP Trophy, and then gave it to him.
I honestly hope he let Arturo keep it because he deserved it. I don’t think he missed but only 1 shot.
Idk who in the world made that decision to give Kyle the Trophy anyways?.. I mean not that he was bad by any means, but it just seemed like a no-brainer to me.🤷♂️
WOW
