Lol I completed Spa Tour part 1 using .50 BMG rounds on shoreline sniper scavs at around 110 meters. I wouldnt use buckshot at that distance though

Magnum or even Express are still enormously powerful types of ammunition. But they still have a big disadvantage, which they always will have. You have to hit the opponent's legs or face. Let's ignore the face, because here it doesn't really matter what ammo you use. In an ideal situation, shooting people in the legs is not a problem. In reality it often looks different. People lean behind corners, stand in ditches or in windows. You often can't hit their legs here and that has always been Flechette's great advantage. Flechette can always be effective. Even if the opponent is wielding a Zabralo and Rys-T and leaning around a corner. Magnum simply won't do anything in the scenario, while Flechette sends the opponent back into the stash in 7 to 8 shots at the latest, especially at close range. Still, Flechette is this wipe even more effective than it was before. That is definitely correct. However, you also have to do some annoying quests like kill 3 PMC under 25m with Boltaction to even get access to it.
I mean if you fight a guy with Zabralo & Rys-T you won't have the time to "re-peak 100 times to hit your 7 Shots".
@@SwissMarksman Obviously you don't get my point. With Flechette you have at least a chance to defeat the opponent in the situation. With Magnum there is no chance in this situation.
It also has to be said that 7 shots with an MP155 are faster than you think. Especially at short range. This takes less than 2 seconds and can easily be done in a one or two peaks. You won't be much more effective with other weapons that don't necessarily fire M61 or SNB in this situation.
Take the VPO 209 with AP-M to factory and you can get it done quite easily
Not to mention the enormous amount of recoil the mag buck adds to the gun. It's just not as easy as he talks about in the video.
@@nicklee1060 I mean Mag Buckshot is unusable if you use a Saiga. But it's okay-ish with any other shotgun. It's just that you're getting used to.
I've been taking in two types of rounds this wipe, Magnum and Rip. In the mp 153 6-rounder put 2 rip first then load the rest with magnum. Once you aim at their legs you drop them with two well placed shots of the rip and if that doesn't work let the magnum fly and wait for the pellets to destroy his knee caps. Both of these rounds are cheap crafts that allow you to circumvent high class armour, this also lets gives you the potential to kill a player in two shots at 25m.
i don't like rip purely because it feels like a civil war musket smooth bore experience, never hits where i aim
@@taeyeoff Lmao, that's fair. Gigabeef did a video talking about how different shotgun ammo has significantly different bullet drop because of sighting issues. Hopefully its fixed in the future so everyone can abuse this with ease.

Buckshot has WAY more recoil, but has 1 pellet headshot potential too which is very useful if legs are not an option.
Flechette is MUCH quieter, and has less recoil and accuracy. But is better vs armor

I do believe that if the price for any ammunition is that high this is balanced in itself due to the fact availability and supply and demand and such or whatever. Balanced.

I don't really like magnum due to it's recoil increase, so when i have an enemy in front of me and spam click the weapon go whenever he wants

@@I.G_NL You have to craft it, AP-20 can't be sold on the Flea nor is it found within the traders, that goes for almost all good penetration rounds in-game.
Also try the 155 with the silver body super cheap no recoil
Thing is that Flechette has basically no Recoil. So if you run the pepega Double Barrell shotgun, MP-155 or the Saiga (modded or unmodded) you can still compete in CQC. While Magnum is like a Mosin, you either hit your shots in the first few seconds or you're gone (or not lol).
It has just half of TTK compared to any other AMO type that opens Lvl 4 and above. Its perfect as it is !

Yeah flechette is busted, it can like 2-4 shot level 6 armor in cqc and thats only to the armor. During the free labs event I took a saiga with flechette and demolished people. The longest range kill I've gotten with flechette in a saiga was from the second floor of Interchange in the very middle I killed someone in German.

I use 6.5mm in anything semi-auto, and magnum buck in anything tube fed. I don’t use flechette because of its price. I aim for legs

Started using BMG .50 cal and holy shit hahah no chad is safe. So I use first shot Flechette and 2d .50 and just go one for one or even every 3d hit a .50 that way if you land the shot nothing is gonna stop it , Just remember how its loaded so you make sure your .50 shot is gonna be on target .
So i personaly love the saiga shotgun so if been using shotgunn ammo a lot and will yes 25 meters isnt looking good for fleshet but if y mage too fight in more closer ereas these round destryos people at 10 meters its ilegal

The mp-153/155 with flechettes has been cooking for me this wipe. It's been a little crazy honestly lol. It's been my go-to on factory and whenever I'm hitting dorms on customs.
I prefer AP-20, 1 shot in the chest rn with everyone running level 4, also run monster claw from Mechanic level 3 it gives you sooo much less recoil than the supressor.

For me flechette feels a lot worse than in previous wipes. Great tho it seems to work for some of you guys.
Comparison seems to be always with flechette/ap-20/magnum, I'd like to see slugs like FTX in these too just to know is it good enough in CQB. Also Express vs Magnum would be awesome as guys like Trey24k prefers it over magnum for less recoil.
What about AP 20 slugs? They seem better against these low class armors
I belive Flechette way over preforms how it does in real life. I have seen half a dozen ballistic gel tests with it and all have failed spectacularly. I refuse to believe this round actually works as intended.

Yeah but with scatter shot you don't even really need to be accurate. Recoil matters less, and if they catch a mag buck pellet or two to the face they're gonna die.
I realised this by getting shot with them and losing half of my Fort level 5 body armour's durability.
You can do some real damage to someone using a shotgun with buckshot at 100 yards

Love shootguns in Tarkov. I am using mostly FTX and 0.50 BMG slugs. But no. do not neft flechette!
For the price I've been getting lots of mileage out of mag buck. Aim for the legs. Saiga with 10 or 20 rounders has been my go-to.
Flechette is by far the best shotgun round it has higher pen and bleed effect when using it at short distance then magnum or express flechette should be the only round you're using at close range like factory I am consistently 2 shotting people with flechette on factory especially if you hit legs

For what i am understanding its not a matter of balance the effectivness. Its about choice...or the lack off in that matter. Hard enough that desynch is fucking with us.
Since high pen ammo and 5+6 armor is harder to come by, stuff shifted in a predictable mannor. AP-M Ammo / Flechette / Magnum / BT / AP-20 etc. got more viable due to the consistancy of level 4 as the new standard armor. With loosing other viable ammo (meta stuff) without raising the stock of the still avaiable ones (and viable), of course its always sold out - or put so far back in to l4 traders its sad (m80). So people with 2 hours a day are fucked as usual. One trader reset if youre lucky to be on point to camp traders in dispense of actual playing the game.
(In terms of viable ammo the choices are slim and quantities low)
I like that the high end stuff is not as available as it was. There was no reason to wear more than a paca to block shotgun scavs, because 90% of players used ammo that ignores armor anyways. It does not matter how you set it up, there is always the armor everyone can have and the ammo to counter it. Both has to be in place, if there would be armor you cant pen, people would use/abuse it....at least the chads with the funds. You need the ammo to younter it in quantities related to the availablity of the armor.
Its the global market for the tarders that suck. Give Players their own badge of available ammo. Maybe vary that how much you get or how much it cost depending on the global demand. But forcing players to camp traders to get some ammo for their weapon of choice is cringe. Why is it a good idea to force Players to switch caliber after 3-4 raids tops without going broke on the flea?
Forced Variety? Well, what about choice? They fucked around with recoil and kick so much, 65% of the current weopons are useless, no matter the ammo. There is a reason why no one plays the mp5 or mpx anymore after 5 raids starting a new character.
Flechette, as you showed is a 3 shot if you can hit nearly all of them into the chest, but in a normal fight that wont happen. You need a lot of hits due to arms as you showed or movement. Even shots to the head does not kill consistantly. Its powerfull if you can blast the poor PMC with the whole mag of at least 6. If you havent killed him by then, well the reload takes a while and gets you killed if not carefull. The situations you showed people would be dead with numerous weapons and ammo.
But i think i get it. MP-153 with a 6 or 8 rounder, silencer or choke is not really expensive and you can get results with the Flechette. But in my oppinion you need such things for people that struggel to get the funds. Otherwise people stop playing the game and youre left with only sweats 24/7. There should be always the choice of cheap and reliable. Imagine only M4 300k builds or something like that would give results...would be bad in a different way.
I feel like if you are using shotguns from this fad then it would just be better to use slugs, flechette and mag buck and most effective and really only usable within 10m

Mine dont do this... I shoot it and they dont die like that. Even in the hide out when I shoot it at the wall in the back when I aim for the head it shoots almost everything but the target.
