    For me this song shows everything great about Biffy Clyro
    Heavy riffs, to lonely guitars
    Screamed and soft vocals
    Massive drops after long build ups
    Group and sole vocals
    Shifting from load to quiet and vice versa
    Heavy distortion combined with no distortion
    If I could play one song to someone who wanted to know what Biffy Clyro was about, this would be it
    Absolutey immense song

    There's no point complaining or saying they sold out. Talented bands eventually reach a point where they can either crossover into the mainstream, make some money, have families, put a bit by for old age etc, or continue being wilfully obscure and eventually fade into the background. Also, once you've done a bunch of quirky post-hardcore albums, writng big, anthemic songs that whole stadiums can sing along to is a new challenge. They could probably knock out another Blackened Skies or Infinityland in their sleep if they wanted to. I'll always prefer this period of Biffy because it's what I grew up with, but it means no more to me than the radio 1 stuff means to people who came along later and there's nothing wrong with that.

      Yeah people have their tastes. At the same time, it will always be a shame seeing a post hardcore act lose their old sound in favor of more radio play and fame.

    Anyone who says that Biffy has sold out or is pop, you are all a bunch of wankers living in the past. There is a reason that we are watching videos on youtube, not on a 12 inch analog TV on MTV. Things evolve and get better, just like Biffy Clyro. Respect their old songs, and embrace the awesomeness of their current music. Biffy is and will always be awesome.

      I don't blame em for selling out and cashing in.. they gave us 3 albums of great and very original music. Now they make pop songs for big music industry, accept it. They even make good ones, bubbles and mountains were still good tunes.

    I don't think the reason why this video got less views than "Many of Horror" is because more people LIKE "Many of Horror" better, but because not many people know about this song, so us Biffy fans need to help push the older songs from Biffy out into the world.
    Love

      It’s a shame any time a band wildly changes their sound. Look at BMTH as a more extreme example; their fanbase is always at odds due to how wildly different their new sound is compared to their first 4 records.

    Why would they "re-produce" what they've done before? The band have said they threw everything they could think of into the first 3 albums and left themselves nowhere else to go with it. True Biffy fans will always love that stuff, but I know that if, on album 6, they were reproducing the same type of song over and over, I wouldn't still be buying it. And neither would half the people who are bitching that they've 'sold out'.

      Ken Shiro I don't live in the UK and in Sweden there are extremly few people who even knows that Biffy Clyro exist so I wouldn't call them mainstream just because i've heard 'Black Chandelier' on the radio about 3 times.

    • @djmassey2
      @djmassey2 Před 9 lety

      Josefine Lea Just because they're not yet popular in sweden does not make them an underground band. Here in the UK they are very much mainstream. And they make radio rock.

    • @josefinebliss2801
      @josefinebliss2801 Před 9 lety +1

      Ken Shiro so what ??? just because a band makes music that can be played on the radio doesn't make them a boring/bad band.ANYTHING can be played on the radio unless it's "too heavy" so argument invalid.You just sound like those douchebag metalheads who claim that everything that's not so fucking metal that it will make little children cry is lame. (plus it's basically only in the UK they are anywhere near mainstream so).

  • @Abuckwild
