- Dr. Zomboss returns to Modern Day and this time he’s bringing the combined forces of all of his armies across time with him! Experience new levels and new plants including the Premium Plant, Shrinking Violet, a plant that can shrink zombies, making them more vulnerable to damage, and the return of the fan favorites, Newspaper Zombie and Balloon Zombie.

Below is a summary of all the key features in the update:
• Four new plants including the Premium Plant, Shrinking Violet, a plant with the power to shrink zombies, making them more vulnerable to damage, Nightshade, a melee plant with an incredible ‘smacking’ ability, Moonflower, a plant that can boost the power of shadow plants with its glow, and Shadow-Shroom, a plant that poisons zombies when eaten, inflicting damage over time.
• Return of fan favorites: Newspaper Zombie, a zombie whose movement and attack increases once his paper is destroyed, and Balloon Zombie - pop his balloon to save plants from being eaten!
• New Travel Log Quests: Complete tasks to be rewarded with coins and gems!
• 16 new levels including the return of the fan favorite mini-game Beghouled; a fiendish fusion of Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled! Perfectly paired plants provide players power to pound zombies zealously! - Hry

I remember back in elementary school, I was so happy to see this update, I played it a lot, now 5 years later and this trailer brings me back. Now I’ve reinstalled the game and starting all over, the nostalgia is gonna hit so hard during these days as I complete this game once again

@@ThePyro04 yoo Samee. I’m the OP , I lost that account but I finished the game, sadly at the time the music ost was off no matter what. I learned it was because of a malfunction or something with the game development. I’m playing this game, again again because the ost makes playing this game so much better.

The worst thing EA did was premium plants, and that's not that bad to live without.

I remember when I was young I thought that time portals and mixing zombies from different worlds were the two coolest game mechanics ever.

@@mariusmarciodeleon1489 I remember 1 level where at the end, A BWB & NMT portal would spawn on two different lanes, ONE tile away from your house. I revisited that level & they moved them a few more tiles back multiple times.

What's good about Modern Day in PvZ2 is that they let every shooting plant able to hit Balloon Zombies aside from Cactus.
3 years since the start of my favourite PvZ2 Era.

Modern day seems actually slightly easier than big wave beach although they are both difficult worlds
Yeah big wave beach was hard though infi nut makes it easy and sniping the octo zombies was easy.
BwB is only hard the first time you play it
I honestly thought they would bring night, pool, fog, roof levels
In my opinion modern day should have been a pool based world, since then all plants could be used such as lilypad and tangle kelp and the most zombies from big wave beach could be used like surfers and fishers and it would have made modern day harder because players have to deal with 6 rows of zombies and lots of planting

Nice way of using Shrinking Violet's personality in this one....
I love this world very much. It is difficult after those non-difficult normal levels in the previous five worlds. The plants and zombies are creatively designed (except nightshade and Balloon zombie). The gimmick is also pretty nice and some nostalgic music combined with pvz2 music. Also, It has a pretty great trailer. Who expected a mushroom which poisons a zombie ignoring it's armor? :)

God, i just wish that modern day was split into 3 different layouts, each with a different theme.
1 standard lawn we normally see, with grasswalk remix
2 pool layout!!! 1 extra lane, 2 middle lanes are water, watery graves remix
3 roof layout, the roof makes it so pea plants are much less usefull, as the curve of the roof blocks peas. Back 3 rows start with plant pots and you can plant more for 25 sun each.
Its sad ea didnt give us much fan service in this game.

I have played modern day and I tried playing the world with just the plants from the original PVZ
People if you liked playing modern day from pvz 2 then try playing it with the original plants from the original Plants vs Zombies
Trust me it will give you the classic plants vs zombies feeling to it
I used to associate the Nightshade with me and sometimes made it me 3 or 4 years ago. Skip forward to today and the name still sticks with me cause i like it -w-

5 YEARS AGO THE LAST WORLD CAME OUT, WHAT'S WRONG WITH PVZ?!
EA confirmed that Modern Day is the last world. With the leveling system and new premium plants being op, the world wouldn't be difficult and would only serve plot purposes. Plus any new plants to that world would be underwhelming compared to premium plants, unless they made the new plants op which would make the world easier
