The symbolism and meanings in this video is so ambiguous. But definitely the waves being something he has to "protect" her from, and when the time he's finally accepted to be that "tower" to protect her from the waves that he's been avoiding in the entire MV, she disappears from him. Maybe he realizes the reality of the situation or maybe simply its just something else but man the symbolism and meanings can dig deep.
"Hai Cheng" is the name of Ming Hao's hometown. I think the heroine in MV is a symbol of his hometown. This song is really beautiful. No matter the lyrics or melody, as well as the emotion Ming Hao poured into when singing it, I believe "Hai Cheng" loves Ming Hao as much as Ming Hao loves "her".❤
I love the dancing scenes, ballet alike, reflects in such a perfect way the deep, romantic and soulful emotions the song already has, it even feels intimate, as if they are connecting with each other's soul, this song is too beautiful

This is my favourite among The8's solos. The message is deep and beautiful. The film is great. Vocals are top notch. It's like a lullaby, if you don't know the meaning or don't watch this. Hai Cheng heals me to my bones. I just find it so precious that this song gives me peace every afternoon as i lay in our doorstep and enjoy the sun. I could never get over it. I've never experienced breaking up with a partner, but I've experienced losing a loved one more than once or twice. How i wish The8 and other members could make more songs like this.
Minghao has grown so much as an artist; he's so admirable and so so dedicated to his craft. You can see the passion in his artistry and improvement everytime he releases something.
