FAMILY He is in everyones hearts forever LOVE LOVE LOVE An amazing man that we will always be admired A great voice & an outstanding comedian God Bless BILLY T JAMES X
My love to this man. His humour was the best. Nobody can replace him. Just wish his humour was still around with all these sensitive people moaning all the time.
Bitty 2 is a right knobbb. Billy t is the man and far better than any other maori comedian or nz comedian actually firstly cos he dont swear and uses some subtly.
$1500 for a microwave? Briscoes was knockin em off for $54 the other day...what a diff 35 years makes....and leopard lager is a long gone relic in the history of nz beers.
Yes, the days before Stephen Tindall (The Warehouse) started importing a lot of cheap rubbish from china. A decent microwave would set you back somewhere around $1200 - 1500. The trouble now is that $54 microwave is chinese junk and won't last - but instead of getting it repaired, the owner will simply throw it out and buy another. This has resulted in much more of a throw-away society which isn't a good thing.
The good ol NZ State Houses that were built after WW2. Sad to see the NZ Government knocking them all down. I grew up in one and my parents eventually brought it in the 90s.
I've always dreamt of owning one of these old state houses, but the way things are going by the time I'm actually in a position to do so they'll probably all have been torn down and replaced with bland, soulless rubbish.
Oh , those were the days..... when nobody’s up tight about race , stereotypes etc everyone was relaxed and friendly and got on with each other. Now we have separate development, rules and laws for some that don’t apply to others , absolute bloody mess.
Takes me back to being a kid in the 70/80’s. There weren’t any other Maori comedians being broadcast on tv then. Virtually no representation at all. Whilst I enjoyed the laid back, non pretentious character he played, I couldn’t help but think the only reason he was ‘acceptable’ on very white New Zealand tv screens was because he played into a racist stereotype of an illiterate, dumb, likeable & non threatening Maori. It’s a reflection not of him but of New Zealand society back then. He was extremely successful personally and made lots of money so the last laugh was on the racists.
***** That's true NZ was really quite rare back then for having iconic people like him, everyone would know that he was a Kiwi when you watch his videos, Billy T James was a great Comedian and person, its a shame he died for whatever. He is still missed.
Never forgotten, the king of NZ comedy!

Yeah it was at that time when they were new to the market and so expensive. What a difference for sure.
