- A quick peek at my Dwarven Forge dungeon! Miniature Building Authority accessories. Miniatures from all different companies. Dwarven Forge is excellent for all RPGs that you might want to use miniatures with like Dungeons and Dragons as well as Pathfinder.
- Hry
That is so cool! Not just the tactical placement of the rooms, traps and puzzles but the opportunities for lore presented deeper into the dungeon. 10/10
You should record some of the games you run with all your amazing terrain and miniature stuff!!
Especially with that eslo terrain! You have all the best stuff!! Did you find caverns deep?
Absolutely true. I would be much more likely to view the many other fine contributors on CZcams that detail how to create your own custom built terrain and sets for pennies on the dollar. Time consuming yes, but the joy is in the creation.
Fabulous setup! Must be a blast to play. Thanks for sharing!
What a great build! Love this.
Looks awesome! But looks expensive...
You can buy sets over a period of time and accumulate quite a bit. Some god sets are just over a hundred, which isn't crazy. Sure, if you bought all of this at once it would be a lot, but you can buy a set a month and in a year have this much or more.
With the technology we have these days you can buy a 3d printer and build it that way. Or you could go and buy hobby foam and a hot wire and carve it out and make it yours.
@@Sappingtonsaquatics Yes!
@@dougpridgen9682 Where I can buy this items?

This adventure sounds amazing. It feels like an old school RPG video game. I love it.
As beautiful as dwarven forge can be...I'm thankful for 3d printing. I can't imagine the cost of this sweet dungeon.
Not as expensive as one would think honestly
I love the dedication to creative imagination.
this is freaking amazing!!! i actually don't know how to play d&d. this makes me feel i want to learn the game.
This is a next level setup. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
That setup is freaking sweet especially with the lowered table to improve the view for the game ....im jelly, VERY NOICE.
I'm just getting into tabletop games and rp games like this. You did amazing job with this set set up and I hope I get to play with something like this eventually
Congrats on the 5k buddy! Good to see you back
This is Epic. Excellent job!
Love the great work, keep it up!
This gave me a lot of inspiration I like to make my own terrain
This is so creative! Good job dude
wow just wow......Great Dungeon
I really love your table it is amazing. I really hope you Play with it with friends one day i hope To finally have a room for playing
Dude! That is awesome! I have always wanted to do a layout of Castle Quasqueton from the D&D module B1In search of the unknown, but I don't have the space for something that massive, unless my family and I eat our meals cross legged on the living room floor lol. 👍
mad jelly - this is very, very awesome
this is amazing. If I was a kid and dyeing of cancer and the make a wish foundation came to me Id wish to do a campaign here
dude wtf lol what is ur thinking process
Ehh I kinda understand what he means with it....
Nicely done.
Love the table
That was a very creative dungeon, and I loved the video! I totally want to buy Dwarven Forge stuff now, but I totally don't have the money. :( A lot of people look down on using generic monsters for adventures and such, but it is a good thing that you did! It makes it fairly easy to use this dungeon for any system you use, and I might even steal it for mine. :) Keep making videos, and it would be awesome if you made more dungeons, or adventure areas like this one!
Alex Herzog You are so right about the hate generic monsters get. Personally, I never tire of the classics! Dwarven forge even made some awesome Kobold figures that I'm dying to get!
Keep a look out for our next kickstarter for a great deal on DF stuff!
Total value of this set alone, $10,000! Happy Gaming!
Finally some truth in these comments
Making my own set that could probably reproduce this entire dungeon with XPS foam, Foam cutter, Paint. All in all im in about 60 bucks, all together
@@scarletbegonia5150 I'll hear someone say something like this, but it never actually happens. I'm sure the basic parts of this could be reproduced cheaper, but the quality would be no where near as good and would take an extraordinary amount of time. Please prove me wrong, but it'll never happen. 😆😂
Rick Koeppen ever watched blackmagic crafts or anyone else similar?
@@scarletbegonia5150 Who has that kind of time?
I'm coming to play at your place :) Awesome setup guy...awesome.
Thank you!
I think it's fantastic and I wish I could play sometime!!!
I’m only very new to D&D and this is EPIC
Looks great.
Beautiful.
You dear sir you are KING OF NERD in every possible epic and positive way.Ps.Make.more.dioramas
This is amazing!🎉
Thank you! It was almost as fun to create as it was to play! 😂
Yay!!! We missed you buddy!
The system you developed sounds really interesting, hope you publish it
Yes please. Gimme da rules. It sounds right up my alley
wow, fantastic!
I would love to be a dm with a map this size and have 9 of my friends join in. Friggin epic. :)
Wow....amazing
hey dude this is a beautiful dungeon set! i see alot of people commenting about money and price, none of that matters so long as you enjoy your games in this dungeon then its all well spent! as some have said would be great to see a recorded game on this table.
I'm sorry but money does matter to some of us XD
@@sebo641 I agree with you, but when people are judging how this guy is spending his own money then it doesn't matter what they say so long as he is enjoying it!
@@TheBeardyDragon182 ah i c. I thought u meant like it doesn't matter how much it costs as long as u enjoy it.
As if Dwarves didnt already ROCK, you had me a Wild Arms 1!!! ^~^
New subscriber. I'm about to venture into the dwarven forge addiction by getting a sample. Wish me luck!
@Zombie Dave Tread carefully , it all starts with one set and before you know you got 2,700.00 of tiles 😂
This is amazing
I have almost as much of the dwarvenforge sci-fi as you have here. I gotta see if my carpenter friend will help me build a table like that.
Wow, that the biggest dungeons I ever lay my eyes in it,too bad those items are gone, it's hard bto buy something so expensive, so how much money you try to saved, they all gone,so sad, thanks for this video
So so SO cool!!
Thank you!
Wow, an actual use for a d12!
Awesome man
Yeeaah! Rick is back!
The setup is amazing and did I spy some gumball machines.. hope you have dice in one of them xD....
Amazing
Love, the video! You should make tutorials for dwarvenforge.
I think he just did a whole commercial for dwarven forge
In my local library you can't move for the skeletons. Teeming with them.
I wanna know about your gaming system you should make a rules pdf please btw I LOVE the setup
This is amazing. However, since using TTS and making stuff myself I can (during this horrible COVID time) run games from afar and make some amazing stuff with incredible lighting and effects...
what was the two types of terrain you mentioned? you said Dwarvern forge + another one and i didnt quite here the other one.
I badly want to play a game with this with what is left of my friends who are still alive but I can't think of a way to make it so they aren't able to look into the next room and already begin to plan.
Thinking about how this is modular, think pegboard laid horizontally. A small dowel on the bottom of the set pieces fits into the pegboard. What you add to the top of the dowel creates the terrain for your setting. Could be done at home with a bit of work, and hopefully nowhere near the cost from Dwarven Forge. I love the presentation, but not the price.
Love Dwarven Forge , however they're sold out of ALOT all the time
That is really awesome. I'm dreaming.....
Don't be surprised if I show up at your front door with beer, pizza, character sheet and a bag of dice.
Great job👍
Awesome!
MrRyanDevo Thank you! I've always been a fan of your unbelievable collections!
Rick Koeppen And I love your setups and walk through. Very creative. I just put up a new video that you might find interesting in the last few days. Since you share my same passion, you might like it.
Ok that’s awesome
Is there any channels that run games on nice terrain like this? I would love to watch a campaign. I'm not sure if that's a thing.
Check-out Critical Role channel on CZcams!
This is awesome.
This might come off as weird, but I am working on a video about DnD and trying to fill it out with footage of cool DnD related stuff. Would it be possible for me to use clips from this in my video? (Obviously, I'd give credit to you in the description and drop a link to your channel). If not, no worries at all.
Yes of course you may. Thanks for asking!
Awesome! Thank you very much; it is greatly appreciated.
How much did this cost? It looks like an absolute amazing map!
Thanks! Hard to say, honestly. This is many separate sets of Dwarven Forge accumulated over several years, not to mention the various miniatures and accessories from a variety of manufacturers. I said maybe $1k but people yelled at me because they thought I was lowballing. Maybe $2k+
I would love for you to show us this in action
*solemnly shakes head* -5 Nerd Points for filling that cart with barrels instead of cabbages.
I accept this point deduction. I need to improve my collection of miniature veggies.
Can you give more information on the table itself? I'm curious about where you got it and what's its name.
Boardgametables.com but I dont remember the exact specifications I chose in terms of length width and height. They dont really have table names, it is more one style of table that you can customize. At least that was the case when i bought it. Highly recommended!
Looks great! I'm wondering if the grid continues consistently over the whole map or is it centered on each room?
The way the pieces were designed, the grid is consistent across the map.
Cool, thanks!
Oh man...I wish LEGO would develop a Fantasy Dungeon System like that! And I know for a fact that you wish for that too, Rick! Am I correct? ;-)
CassDK Absolutely! At this point, I long for ANYTHING medieval/fantasy from LEGO. It's been years.
Rick Koeppen Too long indeed, my friend.
Well that’s inspiring
Omg so cool whens game day lol
hey rick... what would you buy from DF to make something like what you have in smaller scale?`
Probably as many basic dungeon packs as you feel is enough for the smaller scale you're after, maybe forego the specialized rooms, make it all about the basic dungeon atmosphere (possibly with one special environment area like a cavern, lava cave, demon temple, etc.) and really go crazy in accessory packs. If you took out all my accessories this build would not be anywhere near as impressive. It is all about decor for eye candy, where the dressing has any in game effect is up to you.
Quick question, where did you get that coin pile on the table at around the 7:53 mark? This is an amazing setup!
Thank you! That is a tiny accessory from one of Dwarven Forge's old resin accessory sets.
Thats awesome, I love it! I've got a question though, where do all the monsters poop?
I have to imagine either the sewer or the lava pit
EXACTLY ............
One of the best setups I have ever seen. How long did it take for it to get to this point?
Definitely a few years of collecting!
Where do I get that table I need one
Boardgametables.com!
Hi Rick, I scrolled down looking but didn’t see anyone ask....what table with the recessed game section is in the video? Width length dimensions? Thanks if you have time to answer.
It's a table from boardgametables.com, and I do have a video on the channel dedicated to going over Its features if you're interested! The short of it is that it is just under 6'x4' with the top on, im not sure of the recessed area's dimensions. I'm not even sure this specific table had a "name" when I picked it up. It was 5 years ago and boardgametables.com has changed so much since then with so many new varieties.
Rick Koeppen thanks, I’ll look for the video!
This is amazing. Is Dwarven Forge relatively new? I know nothing about d&d but what a spectacular product.
Tango can They've been around for about twenty years but have definitely become more mainstream within the last 5 years or so with the introduction of their Dwarvenite line of more price friendly pieces that they have Kickstarters for.
We've been around for a while! Check us out on social media @dwarvenforge
Big thanks to CR for that!
Ahhhh the old cursed ladder trap.
What kits from dwarven forge were used for this set up?
I'm not sure of the exact number of each, since I keep them stored in big plastic tubs, but they were all from the first, second, and third Kickstarters. I backed the first two Kickstarters (dungeons and caverns) for ten sets a piece. Of course those then also came with ten each of the stretch goal packs. I also picked up two of the blood dungeon packs, I dont think those are available anymore. I also got some cavern water pieces. There are also some lava caverns and lava rivers. Lastly, from the third Kickstarter, are various sets of the sewer packs.
how did the merchant/bandit get passed the two guards? let him get harassed they are clearly apart of the dungeons faction in some form.
This is really cool. How did the merchant get his cart into the dungeon though? :)
Maybe it's a djinn who has taken the form of a merchant!
Do you have a link to your "arrows and blades" system ? Looks interesting :)
Thank you! Unfortunately, no, they aren't anywhere online. Mostly in my head with a document that contained monster stats and stuff I might forget.
@@RickKoeppen I would also be interested in this system ;)
Watch on 1.5 speed lol absolutely fantastic very inspiring
How do you cover the dungeon? The players can see the entire thing?
Pieces of cardstock cut to the shape of the room.
@@RickKoeppen okay!
Why would someone put a wagon into a dungeon room? How did it fit into the door?
How does an area of super heated magma not melt anything that enters that room and fume the entire complex with poisonous gases?
Public Public - The answer to these questions and more, like “How did that big ass dragon get stuck into that last chamber,” or other typical dungeon cliches, is a one-word answer: magic. 😜
found you. yew.... wild
Do you have a list of all tiles/sets u bought?
I do not, unfortunately.
Have you ever considered investing in a big stock of OpenLock or DragonLock tiles? :) Not pre-painted, sadly, but significantly cheaper than Dwarven Forge...lol.
Links Gaming Corner I have not, only because having prepainted tiles was a necessity
Right on. Well, if you ever change your mind and want to play with some decently high quality plastic parts, let me know. ;)
How much did that cost.
That’s all I want to know
Hard to say, honestly. This is many separate sets of Dwarven Forge accumulated over several years, not to mention the various miniatures and accessories from a variety of manufacturers. I said maybe $1k but people yelled at me because they thought I was lowballing. Maybe $2k+
Holy $h!t. You could have bought a car with what you spent there.
I'd rather have the DF. 😆
Ridiculously expensive and takes a huge amount of storage space. Also time consuming to set and take down every week if you dont have a dedicated play area that will remain undisturbed.
Shout out to the wild arms puzzle
If the place is guarded how did the bandits and merchants get in there
This vid has been up for a year and a half and I think you're the first to ask that. 😂 Honestly I dont know, I just threw this together for a photo op and this video and never actually played it. I could probably come up with some entertaining theories, like I'm sure many of us could.
Rick Koeppen lol how has nobody noticed this
Where did you get the table?!
Boardgametables.com!
Where can I buy a that table?
Charles Ottaway boardgametables.com!
Can I come over to play?!
Could you please give a ballpark of what this would cost?
Silentwraith I'd estimate about $1k USD
Rick Koeppen thanks Rick!
Silentwraith No problem!
1k. Not. Even. Close. The actual cost of this is far from 1k
@@zenzin7725 you could fill this table space with a complete dwarven forge dungeon for $1,500.00. That is retail price not kickstarter price, with the kickstarter it gets a tad bit cheaper
Looks awesome, but expensive. There are a lot of choices these days (I think you can actually get similar .stl files for free from Devon Jones on thingiverse.) Dwarven Forge has gotten pretty proud of their stuff.......
And more choices with the upcoming release of Wizkids' Warlock Tiles!
HOLY. SHIT.
Do you mind if I use this for my campaign
Not at all!
@@RickKoeppen thank you
