  • A very nice assault rifle for Claptrap, Wilhelm and Jack. Not quite top tier, but very high up. Next few videos are going to be about TPS too, sorry for everyone who hates it. xD

I definitely agree that the Spitter is nice on Wilhelm and Jack. I love the Spitter. It's my favorite assault rifle in the Borderlands series, so I obviously will think it's amazing and gush over it.
But I've been using it lately on Claptrap specifically with an explosive build and I'm not convinced he can use it that well. He has some anti-synergies with the weapon. I think the best Spitter users were probably Axton and Zero in BL2, and then maybe Wilhelm and Jack. What the Spitter likes is more mag size, fire rate, reload speed, and especially bullet speed. Aurelia, Wilhelm and Zero have the bullet speed. Accuracy fixes and stability are nice too, but it's mostly reload, fire rate and bullet speed IMO. (I haven't tested the Spitter on Aurelia, but it's probably amazing as long as one stays away from Large Caliber).
The problem with the Spitter on Clap is the way his skills work. Your first reload will always get zero reload speed increase, which sucks on a gun with a 4 second-ish reload time. The mag on the Spitter is high and Clap can improve it, but that just means it takes too long to stack Load n Splode. But you want the mag big so you can hit max fire rate. Clap also has no bullet speed buffs, so you'll have to get closer and bandits in TPS are much more agile than in BL2, with their fucking jetpacks.
I think a gun that works much better on Clap is the Torgue Injector. For a Torgue pistol, it has a high fire rate, but a pretty smallish mag (around 15-17) and fast reload speed (2.2ish compared to 4ish.) Clap obviously has mad synergy with pistols thanks to his Loose Cannon, which gives you even more of the fire rate that Torgue weapons love. He can still boost the grenade splash and get all the other buffs he would have on a Spitter. The main advantage of the Spitter (its mag and fire rate) don't really help Claptrap too much since he wants to be reloading all the time.
Sorry for the long post. I guess you could spec All The Guns and only use the Spitter when you have the assault rifle subroutine up for the passive reload speed to be always on, but subroutines annoy me. Or you could use a Strafing Run and that would probably work, but you'd miss DPS from not having a Bomber or elemental duality. Oh and I tested some other Torgue pistols on Clap and I like the Injector the best because of the consistently higher fire rate, which gets you through the mag faster without relying on having glitches.

Hehe, you're forgiven ;) The only reason I might be interested in getting more into TPS is the skill tree design. There's a lot of stuff there I'm unaware of because....it's TPS....
Interesting, though, and apparently well thought out: it appeals to my inner nerd ^^

+riddarhyttan I really enjoy the skills of the classes in TPS, at least of most classes. ^^ If only TPS had a higher difficulty and more content it would be such a great game. Of course it would be even greater if it wasn't a copy of BL2, but there's nothing to be changed about that I suppose. A lot of things in TPS remind me of BL2 characters, for example Athena has a tree that heavily reminds me of Gaige, I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. ^^

+Demonite Hmm. It's a pre-sequel with heavy elements from the game that preceded it while taking place before it and we're lamenting that now that it's done we can't change that...I have a headache :/

Where could one get that Claptrap skin? I must have it. Is there a link?

It was a Bloody Harvest 2015 SHiFT Code which I think is already expired. But you can unlock all skins with Profile Editor if you're on PC.
