    Very helpful!! Thank you!! So I basically have to play around with it till I come up with something decent. Haha. I'm having to learn the song "Bluegrass White Snow" by Patty Loveless before Christmas, and I've NEVER played a song in D on the banjo. So thank you, and God bless!!

    Very helpful. Nice lesson. You seem to be able to explain these topics better than a lot of other online banjo teachers. Thank you, I appreciate these lessons.

    Thanks Mike, very helpful video. Like other folks have said, I've struggled playing "d" tunes. This is what I've been looking for, a "simple" way to become comfortable playing in open position d. Thanks again!

    What is the two finger D chords your using at the 2nd and 3rd fret?

    • @MikeHeddingMusic
      @MikeHeddingMusic  Před rokem +1

      2nd fret on the 3rd string and 3rd fret on the 2nd string. First and Fourth strings are open. - Mike

      @@MikeHeddingMusic so confusing, if I go to google different shapes for D this never shows up

      D7 sharpened or something?

    • @MikeHeddingMusic

      No, it’s a D. It’s the middle two strings of the larger 4 finger D chord. Then the 1st and 4th strings are open (which are D notes). Technically it’s a D5 because it doesn’t have the third note (F#) but it works great for D.

      @@MikeHeddingMusic thanks I can grasp some things and others not so much. I can use pentatonics to play lead guitar in any key unlike the banjo where I’m limited to G or maybe A, B if I use a capo, plus most lessons omit tricks of the trade.

    I was going to learn a Tony Rice song until I figured out it was in D 😂
