Leslie Calvin Brown (born February 17, 1945) is an American politician and motivational speaker. He served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1977 to 1981.
In many of Brown's speeches, he recounts how he initially struggled to find success at a radio station. Despite repeated rejections, he persisted. His big break came when the afternoon DJ failed on-air, leading to Brown's full-time hiring. After being let go from the radio station, he ran for and won a seat in the Ohio House of Representatives. Following his tenure in the legislature, he transitioned to television, becoming a host on PBS.
