    That dim 250 nit screen is a bit of a deal breaker, what's the point of a phone you can hardly see outside?

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 8 měsíci +7

      Yes it's time they gave up on uses this screen and went with a brighter unit. Because my last 3-4 Doogee reviews always the same story dull screen and bad cameras. If they can fix those two things their unique rugged phones would become quite useful to many.

    Totally agree there are several scenarios where a technician or even the average person utilizing that thermal camera! 👍
    Overall a nice rugged phone, but definitely needs a brighter screen in that respect! And the cameras should be more optimized.
    It would be interesting to see how the readings from the thermal camera here, compare to your own thermal imaging device Chris! Maybe you could do a short video on that! 👌🙂

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The thermal readings seem to be fine, a difference of +/- 3 degrees to my probe and Flir type add-on camera. But the screen, it's not like it's something new Doogee have used this over and over in their phones and it's time to give it up for a brighter unit.

    Good review as usual. I can back most of you saying, I'm using one of this device in the past week and a half. What caught me was the large battery, and the thermal sensor. Not a bad phone my concern is the updates from doogee in the future. Unfortunately none of these Chinese manufacturers support their devices for a long period of time so Im quite sure this would never get Android 14. Other than this it has a lots of potential. Other disadvantage is the price, in my opinion the HW is there but due the manufacturers limited support it should be cheaper. Keep up the good work 👍.

    Hi! I own an doogee V30 for about 1,5 years and i had no problem with it.A very solid phone and a 2 day battery. It is an honest phone. Good video!

  • @freedomofmotion

    If doogee spent more time on software ( and also got better screens) these would be great phones just generally.
    My partner uses a dogee v30 as a daily driver because they're clumsy and like the battery life.

    Thank you for the Review. For all this phone has including the weakness points, those front facing speakers are a dream feature to me. i wish more companies would realize how important these are and yes it has bezels', but those are multi purposed for protection and the speakers. i tried the AGM G2, didn't care for it. currently going back and forth with a DOOGEE V20pro and the iiiF150 RAPTOR. the V20 DOOGEE has an OLED screen, and it works well outside. not sure why DOOGEE stopped using this screen. DOOGEE - if you're paying attention, give us the OLED screen, headphone jack, and an IR BLASTER with these front facing speakers and people will come! may i ask you from your review- how well does this V31gt sound with true L&R front facing speakers? ( i understand they are small speakers and lack bass, but is the overall sound better than the common side/down firing speakers? ) i was for many years a SAMSUNG guy, but once you have a rugged device and a thermal camera, its hard to switch to a normal phone. The thermal camera is probably brushed off by most users, but once you have it, there is no going back. My wife who has a AGM G1 glory, took the mindset of, another gimmick, but a year later and she uses it all the time. looking back at the earlier thermal imaging phones up to all the ones currently on the market, the future is amazing. PS: the INFIRAY app takes a bit to load because its GPU based. You can also dig into the thermal app's settings within the app, for updating it. INFIRAY is the parent company that sells the thermal dies, and the manufacturing plant is near the Wuhan Institute.

    GJ!
    I have two questions I'd love it If u could answer em.
    Is the difference between ufs 4.0 and 3.1 and 2.2 rly apparent?
    And do snapdragon 7 series feel slower in day to day tasks compared to the 8 series?
    Specifically:
    I got a Poco f3 (870) and I'm thinkin about upgradin to the Redmi note 13 pro (7s gen 2) bc I'm obsessed with good displays and also my phone is runnin outta updates and I don't game. Is it gonna be a worse experience?
    Tnx!

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 8 měsíci

      Ufs 4 vs 2.2 in game loading times maybe but not by much. Redmi note 13 pro (7s gen 2) will be a very minor upgrade for you nothing drastic but yes a better display and main camera.

    Looks like the perfect phone for a delivery guy for scanning barcodes and collecting signatures... but the low brightness of the display kinda contradicts the main use should be an outdoor phone

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 8 měsíci

      Would be great for that kind of use with the drop resistance but then again in direct sunlight they would struggle at times to see the screen.

    What's the max distance of the thermal camera if used outdoors?
    Doogee claim that the V20Pro has a viewing distance of 1000metres, but I had doubts whether it was liable or whether to buy a different phone and a regular thermal monocular instead ( was thinking of buying it to find out where the fox hides when it steals chickens at night)

    Dropped the ball with that dim screen. Shame! The night vision and thermal camera is very interesting. Is there another model of rugged phone that has night vision and thermal cameras?

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  Před 8 měsíci +2

      There is a couple of older models with the thermal cameras, or night vision. But this is the first to have both I believe. As for the dim screen it's sadly nothing new with Doogee they really need to find a new IPS screen that's at least 600nits bright.

    Limited capabilities. Usb C Port only charges. It won't allow me to use wireless microphones via usb c. Also can't transfer files to a computer through usb c. Very annoying. I like the battery life and speakers but the camera is terrible. It has many disadvantages over an extremely old Samsung note 9 from many years ago. Even the old Samsung can use microphones and transfer files.
