And I was trying to get my computer to boot up in fewer than 9 minutes in high school. 🤣
The Bozeman kid was a monster. He has a lot of muscle and I was amazed at his endurance to come in 2nd.
Nathan Neil is a beast!
I run track with him and he's a super cool guy at the meet yesterday he paced a state qualifying time for the other distance runners. He really is a super humble guy.
@@tortareka that’s so cool that you run with him!
Came here to mention him. Glad you did. Been watching him for years. He's the one to watch.
Though I’m not on the same team as him, I run cross country and track with him, and was there when he broke the state record for the 5k. Truly an unbelievable athlete
Ah yes, 69 athletes breaking 9 in the year 2924
😂😂
W
What is not mentioned by the liberal media is how many White Boys did well. Where is the Diversity Equity and Inclusion???
Arcadia has broken this record for the past 2 years. They'll probably do it again next year, too. Arcadia has cemented itself as THEE national track meet for high schoolers.
8:34 is very crazy times for the 3200m, but just to add on top of this insane performance is that Daniel Simons was in the 4x1600 the DAY BEFORE running this race
His final 1600 of the 3200 was at the same pace as his 1600 leg in the relay
German Fernandez ran 1600m 4:00 & 3200m 8:34 best double in American history ! 2 1/2 hours break in between!
There’s been such an explosion of talent in the past few years. Now you have to run sub 930 to go mid major versus like 950 just 5 years ago
In the Carribean you have to run sub 9 to get a medal
Triple jumped at the Arcadia Invite back in 99 and 2000 , good times
It's funny seeing some of the kids from my local high school in this video
Another crazy thing that happened during this race is the guy who came in 2nd closed his last lap in around 55 seconds
The number of white runners is not mentioned. They did not come from Priviledged Backgrounds.
Nathan Niel, he always has a really strong second half. That’s the first time I’ve seen him push that hard though he’s a beast!
so cool to see a video of yours from a meeting that I've run at. literally a goal achieved!
I could hear Billy Mays in my head saying “But wait, there’s more!” About every 90 seconds of this video.
I'm so glad ive come across your channel🎉 great commentary.
After 7 laps, Daniel Simmons would still obliterate me in the 400 by 6 seconds. (I ran 63.2 in the open 400 yesterday) 😮😮😮😮😮.
What place?
I ran it at a dual meet in New York state, and got second in my race. @@user-tj3cf8jg3j
The number of athletes under 9:00 per year is a cool metric, but you might want to take into account the total number of athletes as well
# of athletes isn't changing for a meet like Arcadia; only getting more competitive.
This continues to prove that we are in the era of high schoolers that have essentially become professional athletes since their youth. It’s a different game now where it’s easier than ever to completely commit to one sport and dedicate all of your time to it. The same thing is happening in swimming! My prediction is within the next 10 years… times are going to plateau and breaking a record will become nearly impossible and very rare.
Incredible!
I go to the Arcadia meet almost every year! That meet is Electric
typo at 4:47, the year in chart is written as 2924 instead of 2024
good video
This is insane
after you said the time i was just like "WHAT?!"
that is unbelievable for high school
Same. That's insanely fast for that age bracket.
Havent watched it yet but looks good so far
Didn't expect that
4:31 nice
It’s also the middle of April. Month and a half of hs track left. Plus a summer for high schoolers at this level
SHOES SHOES SHOES!!!
If people can’t see this then they’re
BLIND BLIND BLIND!!!
shoes dont do that
It's not just the shoes, you prat. You sound like a side character from the heckling scene of The Princess Bride.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
1) How do you leave out Leo Daschbach as the one that started the run of sub 4 HS miles in 2020?
2) Nico ran that 8:40 as a junior. (Yes, I know a junior ran sub 8:40 this year) Just noting…
Daniel Simmons, the winner this year, got 8:34 last year to take second place. Just goes to show how competitive high school running has gotten
Regarding 1), that is 100% true, but TPR has made an entire video solely dedicated to Leo Daschbach before, and he's mentioned Daschbach in other videos related to highschoolers breaking 4.
I wonder if they've thought about running faster to get a better time? Seems like a strategy that could possibly work.
Interesting I've never considered that
Nice
Nathan Neil 🐐
I was here in the rated race as a sophomore and It was the coolest thing to see all of the people ahead of me destroying that final straight to break 9, I got 9:06 :(
For vertical videos in horiztontal format, duplicate it, blur it, stretch the background to occupy full frame.
Imagine coming in last and still cracking
9mins....
Unreal.
In reference to the Miramar invitational, Florida track always runs the athletes into headwinds, if the wind is coming from the direction of the traditionally positioned timing table. I have only been to one well run meet in Florida where they reversed the direction of the runners. They really need to get a hold of this, because the athletes don't like it and many show up and just leave because they don't want the slower time on their record. Also, most of the meets in Florida are poorly run, with excessively long wait times between heats and events. This makes many families and spectators never come back to the meet again. I believe that this is a big reason why Track is rarely shown on network tv channels -- there is just far too much down time to keep a production moving and viewers tunes in. Replays are fine, since they can edit out all of the down time.
a record is always something that has never happened
SHOUTOUT TO THE KING NATHAN NEIL
IVE BEEN WATCHING TRACK SINCE 1948,AND THE STRANGEST THING IVE SEEN IS FOR ONE COUNTRY TO WIN ALL 6 SPRINT MEDALS IN THE WORLD CHAMPS IN EUGENE,WITH 6 DIFFERENT SPRINTERS..ILL BET THATS NEVER HAPPENED AT ANY LEVEL,HS OR COLLEGE OR PROFESSIONAL
No need to yell bro
@@RA-lu6mb hey us old guys can't hear
JENNAY HAS AIDS
I remember back in my HS days you' be lucky if a few (like 4-5) went under 9 minutes for the 2-mile at some point during the year, and that was usually at state championship meets at the end of the season. And I mean nationally, not just in one state. A lot of these young men will probably do it multiple times during the year, which seems crazy. Worth noting that in the late 1970s-early 1980s we didn't have 'rubberized' tracks, just crushed granite or crushed brick (no high-tech shoes, either). All the HS in my area now have 'rubberized' tracks.
I would go to say the high tech shoes is probably the reason why sub 9 is becoming more common. I’m curious to know why this year there was a huge surge in number of kids breaking it, considering the carbon plated spikes have been out for 3-4 years now.
Look that Marcelo kid is dropping crazy times rn, but he’s been in the running game since he learned how to walk. We’ll see how myself and the rest of 2027 will stack up by Junior year….
In 1999 I remember watching Darrell Rideaux beat Casey Combest in the 100m at the Arcadia invitation. They were hyping up Casey Combest so much leading up to that meet and Darrell Rideaux completely destroyed him and made him quit mid race.
Paris marathon vid ???
that flyover at 1:49 is not even Arcadia High. lol.
dang no tag for me on the americanforkcross video😤
Tough luck my friend
Happy eid everyone , with u happy celebrating syawal
I notice you never mention german Fernandez who ran 8:34 two hours after a 4 flat mile
Luckas Ferbeakus was a little more talented than Fernandez.
You do you know the freshman Marcelo that ran a 8:50
Bro i just broke 10 as a freshman and this guys breaking 9
A young man broke Usain Bolt’s 400M record
4:50 dam 2924
3200m is such a random distance
Not really. It’s eight laps of a standard track.
How is it random,I stg people know nothing about running here it’s two miles
@@carterthompsonruns actually, it’s just short of two miles.
not in america many of our tracks are still 1/4 of a mile.
@@michaelblack6129 🤓oh no 18 meters
I would really like a video with more context. I want to know why this is happening. I know 8 more athletes were on the results page compared to last year, so has this event maybe just become more popular? Is it simply the athletes becoming more hyped for the 3200 m race and the ideal weather at Arcadia? I don't want to burst any bubbles, but I really want to know why this has happened because I don't believe it is a mere coincidence, especially because the graph at 4:40 shows such a linear growth.
no more snoozing on the Mantecon 😴
I coach in Utah (not American Fork) and this kid has been a pain in my @ss for two years. He really is amazing
Herriman?
@@nathan5784 my identity will not be revealed
You're killin it
so many strong athletes in 2924 🏃
Very good unbelievable. No joke.
my curiosity is on how many state records were broken in this race also?
Could it be that kids have more access to running teams and that’s why there more younger athletes running crazy times?
😜Nathan Neil Can Go Faster!!! 🏃♂ Just Wait and See...🔥
Did they mess up the laps?!?
Simmons could’ve had the all time high school record but I guess he’ll have to settle for a national leading time🤷♂️
I didn't even know that 3200m was an event.
bruhh
It is in high school…
@@michaelblack6129 I assume only US high schools as all other countries would run 3,000m.
@RDDHopsing77 California HS races 1600m & 3200m and athletes can't wear spikes in XC races. Invitationals will sometimes add a full mile race as well. All California HS sports are governed by CIF.
Wait they had multiple heats of sub 9 3200m runners?
That’s absurd
Even more absurd 60some kids in one 3200m heat ….
Year 2924?
You forgot one guy in the open 3200 who broke 9
He was counted, just not listed…
Missed opportunity to make this vid 8 min and 34 seconds
The premiere platform to get our athletics coverage! For all the haters stay away!
hes still trash
So trash that you had to stop through and say something! 😂
Is running distance gaining popularity or somfin???
Is this a common distance in the US?
In high school, yes.
our old tracks are 1/4 mile.
In the year 2924, we are going to have 69 runners run a sub-9:00 time. Wait and see
Truly amazing, but will this ever translate into these guys beating the world's best from Kenya and Ethiopia?
When you talk about Kenyan dominance people are quick to forget that in the late 70's through the mid 80's Steve Ovette, Steve Cram, and Sabastian Coe, blew the Kenyans away. And they were White British Runners. Advance 20-22 years and Galen Rupp....(silver medal in the Olympic 10K) and Steeplechaser Evan Jagger are regularly beating the Kenyans ...Both White Runners. And White Woman also were Dominating. It's just that the press wants Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. And we must not forget Triple World Record Holder Jacob Ingerbritzen from Norway who is blowing away the Kenyans for the past 3 years. I'd say its a tie between British Runners and Kenyan runners since 1980 and a razor thin margin of Kenyas over the rest of the world for the past 20 years. It's just that the LIBERAL PRESS focusus on the Kenyans.
@@danielbrown3461 I am aware of those instances and don't discount them. But in the main, the Africans have had a pretty good run of things ever since Kip Keino broke through in 1968. And in the 90s and early 2000s the Moroccans were quite dominate. And when you talk about the road scene and the marathon it is the Africans who are in the front pack in depth--and yes, I am well aware of Rupp's bronze but he hasn't dominated. No one was happier than I was when Rupp broke the African juggernaut in 2012 and 2016. But we don't have the depth of the Africans. I do hope some of these kids break through and become a dominate force in middle and long distances on the world stage. BTW I am no fan of liberal press or DEI. I am just making an observation that many of top high school runners seldom make it to the next level and stay there. Many of them disappear off the scene. Perhaps we are in a transition where that will change!
@@danielbrown3461also there hasn’t been an african runner that has medaled in the 1500 since the 2021 olympics. last years world championship was GB, norway, norway and the year before was GB, norway, spain. also last year in the 5K only 1 african medaled to get bronze as norway and spain were gold and silver
@@danielbrown3461europeans definitely took over the 1500 already and I feel like kenyans are slowly fading off the 5,000, just not completely yet. they still dominate the 10,000 and road racing
@@trevorturner8037 The Kenyans have also lost their slight dominance in the 2 mile.
What happened in 2019?

Consider this. There was a kid who down the street of a friends house who may have been one of the best and strongest runners ever. Had Marvin Shifketon run track he would do monstrous things. In Jim class Marvin ran a 52 seconds 440 in Al Orter cleats and he was only 5’4”. It was 1972 and on a sender track. Once he India wrestled Frank and almost one
52 isn't even all that bro. sub 9 is so much more impressive. Also nobody knows who frank is.
nico young would have won this race if he ran this in high school without a doubt
what the hek..is arcadia???
The most competitive high school track meet in the world. It happens in April at Arcadia Highschool in Arcadia, California annually.
If what happen on that track Is not one of the best things to occurre in recorded History?
What is?
Life comes down to only four things: Breathing, crawling, walking, and running.
Absolutely nothing else matters. If one thinks that is not true? Please tell us how one gets out of bed each morning to eat one first meal of the day?
How do you get to the bathroom?
How does one get to the bank.
Bipedal locomotion is what makes us what we are.
It is so simple, so elementary, so commonplace, that nothing else can see the whole would spread out before them as we can.
Better running means longer health spans for us all. I cannot wait until everyone is able to run a 12 minute mile on the 100rdth birthday.
That will not set any records but a 12 minute common 12 minute mile at 100 would ensure the continuation of our species until the sun burns too bright.
69 athletes... nice
Soon enough it'll be over 9000.
Karsten Warholm World Récord
Sydney Mclaughlin World Récord
David Rudisha World Récord
Jakob ingebrigtsen 2 mile World Récord

This many kids running sub-9 is WILD!
I have to wonder how much of a role the new shoe technology is playing in these performances. 🤷🏽♂️
I'm sorry. These boys are great, but there aren't 69 boys with once-in-a-generation talent.
IJS 🤷🏽♂️
Jakob 7.54 wow
that was actually a longer race since it was the official 2 mile and not the 3200
Yep, he would have almost lapped them if he had run 3200 m.

Love this channel, but you be wearing out these words bro.
An easy explanation for this result is the use of PED's.... If the same thing was happening in any other sport, you'll instantly think about PED's...
I mean definitely not wrong--- I was going to make some jokes about the PEDs being the new models of shoes. So of course shoes are shaving HUGE time off distance events. But honestly with the advent of abuse of oral steroids and PEDs by high schoolers ALLLLL over tiktok, insta, etc and the ease of internet ordering, it's foolish to think some of the kids wouldn't try testosterone enhancers or other potent androgenic compounds. Does Arcadia even have testing???
You left out that Simmon’s winning time was nearly a second slower than Simeon Birnbaum’s winning time from last year, and was also .8 seconds slower than the time he ran at Arcadia last year when he finished 2nd to Sim.
Said it before and I’ll say again; your channel would be a hell of a lot better if you dialed back on the clickbait headlines and ‘FIRST TIME EVER UNBELIEVABLE!!!’ overhyping.
I enjoy the videos, but when every single title is “never before”/“first time in history” it feels kinda click-baity
💉
3200 Meters?? What Is That?? Does anyone care othjer than the runners?? Who runs the 3200?? How about 2 miles or 3000 meters?? Come on!!
God, I hate your reporting and your misleading headlines. You are doing the sport a dis-service.
this meet deserves that title
Sincerely, you just don't understand.
This channel used to be better.
You used to really focus on significant achievements and the videos were really informative.
Now it's most of the time all about fast sprint results and youth sports.
You make a video about teenagers running good times over 3200m while Courtney Dauwalter is completely ignored even though she did incredible, inhuman things on the highest level last year.
I am disappointed in this channel and will not take the time to listen to you in the future anymore.
I don't care what a freshman does or doesn't do, I don't want to follow the US high school scene.
I don't mind a little something being said about it if it's really really good, but not to that extent. Same goes for all the sprinting stuff. That's not what I committed to when I subscribed to this channel.
Thanks for the good times. But it's too insignificant for me in terms of quality and content these days.
Goodbye
Nice
