I must say I hate our luck as Käärijä was against Loreen and didn’t stand a chance on winning against her. I hope Sweden now won’t dig Herreys up to perform and something new like Baby Lasagna would have a fair chance.
Ok if Sweden brings Måns Zelmerlöw dueting with Petra, that I could live with.

It is nice to see a decent Finnish comment about thE Rim Tim Tagi Dim because there are so lot of rubbish written about the song in Finnish Viisukuppila site. Apperently commentators are mainly Finnish Kaarija fans who make there false and toxic claims about Baby Lasange and his song.even Kaarija himself has said it is not the same song. As someone who has lived in Finland , I know the envy is the original sin of Finns and it shows in the comments there in Viisukuppila🤔,

This can win, 100% can win. Like you mentioned, I saw how his vocals improved between the two Dora performances and can see him getting better and more comfortable with the song as he performs it more and more. The stage presence will take time but I hope Croatia takes this opportunity with real gusto. A first-time winner might help rejuvenate the contest in some of the countries where it might be lagging - with a great song and performance you can win as well!

Marco cleaned up a lot of his vocals, the audio mixing and camera angles in only 48 hours between the semi final the grand final! If he can do that, he can make the whole package much better in May! But I actually REALLY like his staging. It's grown on me SO much and as Roy PM says from EscUnited, the guy's a rising Rockstar with a great raspiness. People will remember the song regardless since it's so strong and will look up what it is about. He doesn't need to sing so well to get the song across. Juries will surely appreciate the deeper meanings more than Cha Cha Cha?

Oh, I've been waiting for this video. Croatia🇭🇷 is proud of him. We showed on Sunday evening with 247 televote points what we thinking about him and his performance, while runner-up had only 27 points. But, when Baby Lasagna entered Dora instead of Zsa Zsa (our national hero recently😂😂) one our big HRT "experts" in one article said that this song is the WORST!!!at Dora. Absolutely unbelievable!!! Also, this guy is so nice, polite and humble. I won't lying, I almost cried when he cried in the press conference after win.I still can't believe that we're contenders for win and 2nd in the odds. That basically never happened in my lifetime. Cause I was a kid when Maja and Doris was 4th and I can't remember those ESC very well. Our first potential win would be so amazing, first ESC song contest in ex-YU country after Serbia in 2008. And if this as you said "fairytale" really happen it could basically be win-win situation cause we could have missing ex-YU and Balkan countries, such as Montenegro🇲🇪, N.Macedonia🇲🇰, Romania🇹🇩, maybe even Bulgaria🇧🇬 back in the ESC. But I personally would be happy with top 10,top 5 would great and top 3(best result ever) would be absolutely AMAZING.

the only thing bothering me is everybody calling him a copy of kaarija. the only similarities between them come from the fact that both baby lasagna and kaarija are rammstein fans and sonically you can hear the inspiration. but they're two completely different songs to me
when it comes to the outfit i also don't get why kaarija would supposedly have the monopoly on big sleeves now, baby lasagna can keep his sleeves. but i wouldn't mind a slight outfit change/update during baby's performance to show his progression from a traditional village boy to a "city boy"

I must say, I find the lyrics quirky. The 'Advanced' part makes sense with the 'city boys' part in branding them as posh but upbeat. The 'compress' part is about mental health and airing your concerns with people in real life. The staging doesn't need many changes for the public to vote for it. It is pure chaos and that's a good thing. Croatia are now SECOND in the odds at 12% so Marco is gonna make Croatia proud I think with their final result!

Incompetent jury of Croatian Radio & Television did not want Baby Lasagna at Dora at all. He entered the competition as a reserve, because someone else dropped out.
The song is about young people leaving their home (immigrating to other countries; 400,000 in 10 years) in search of a better life, and anxiety it creates. Yet, the song is litehearted. It was written, and produced solely by Marko Purišić (Baby Lasagna) in his room in Umag, small town, Croatia. First time performing as a singer on a big stage, Marko did great; people of Croatia reacted and gave him the greatest margin of victory ever. With big stage and some improvements, it’s a definite contender.

It might also have something to do with this getting so much attention in Finnish media. Many big tabloids and radio stations have mentioned this, in a way of "Eurovision song accused being a copy of Käärijä - Compare yourself!" They are not picking sides though, only informing that this kind of discussion is going on on the internet 😄
But I can also understand this being a hit here in Finland. I mean, I love it, why wouldn't others? 😁 But realistically speaking, the reason it is getting so much attention is probably due to the comparison to Käärijä.

The only connection between Kaarija and Baby is that they are both huge Rammstein fans, that's it. And you can clearly hear that influence in Baby's song. Actually many people accused him of stealing from Rammstein. However, the whole Rammstein's fanbase in Croatia supports him and I really do think that all other fans will support him too, because there is nothing stolen, it is just influenced by Rammstein. Certainly, Baby has a huge support and love from me - a huge Rammstein fan from Serbia. 🖤

yea i remember a lot of people saying that they felt a Rammstein sound. That doesnt bother me at all. After Dua Lipa's "future nostalgia" we had HUNDREDS of songs that were inspired by that sound. It's normal that people will be inspired by other artists, and if 2 artists are both inspired by Rammstein, then of course they will have some common sounds in their music.

@@ESCTom Yes, of course. Every musician has an influence and it is perfectly normal.
I actually didn't like Kaarija at all and also I am not a huge fan of Eurovision, but Marko is really special. I don't know him but I am so proud of him and feel him as a part of a family, because we, big Rammstein fans, are a big loving family. I hope he wins. This song is simply brilliant.

The way I interpreted what he told William on the meaning of the song title is: like many artists who write the music before the lyrics he had vocalized the notes on the sound recording and Rim Tim Tagi Dim is the literal transliteration of what the notes sound like. And then when he was writing the lyrics he must just decided to keep the non sense verbalization instead replacing with actual lyrics.

It is important to understand that he comes from Istra, and Istrian folk songs through centuries have been using meaningless syllables that mimic music in chorus I.e. one of most popular Istrian folk song is Traj-na-ni-na-ne-na. So Rim-tim-tagi-dim is a modern version celebration of Istrian folklore. Croatians understand it, so the song has even an additional charm to us.

Definitely a potential winner. Certainly a candidate to win the televote although it has competition ( Lithuania, Finland, possibly even Ireland) which may dilute its televote impact.
    Things to change:
    - ditch the puffy sleeves, maybe a costume reveal to move him from country boy to city boy.
    - before the dance along break/ middle 8, get the audience to clap along. This will lift the dance bit ahead of slowing to the final- get the dancer washing clothes to churn butter suggestively. That will be an automatic 12 points from the UK 😂
Overall it’s a good fun package but it does have to beat Slimane’s breath/ taking vocal to win which I think will be tricky

About the staging: i personally hope they go for a vibe closer to the music video! traditional clothes while rocking out on the stage would look pretty cool. it would make it look less like a "joke entry" with the neon lights and more like the rock song it actually is. the message should still come across with the dancers, but i think this could get elevated alot more with the jury if the staging changed. I see alot of people call this a joke entry and a käärijä copy because of the lights and outfit, so distancing from that would probably be better for his chances imo.

yea even changing "of" to "to" sounds so much better. Also "a round" can mean "a round of drinks" in English, so it goes from making 20% sense to 100% sense by changing one word
Someone in another comment told me that that lyric is a direct translation from Croatian slang

I still can't believe this song almost wasn't in Dora! It now sits on top of my list. 😁 He had such a handicap coming into this because he had to put together this package in a shorter time than everyone else and I loved it. Being a newer viewer, I didn't even notice some of the more finer details you noticed. I'm sure he can smooth those out by May.

Quite nice. Just like you said, Tom, it needs a lot of work to rethink the presentation, tidy it up, and emphasize and enhace the main focus points, so that they're more energetic and memorable. At the moment there's no single moment I'd use for the 10 second clip during the vote, for example. Also, during the bridge, when all the attention should be on the singer, we get a wandering camera going to the anonymous drummer. It needs a lot of work.

I actually think the use of the words "prance" and "decompress" works really well
This whole song has a Rammstein vibe to it since that was a big inspiration for him, and those two words do sound very harsh in a way, which is how many people associate German to sound
So he kinda brings the German harshness into the lyrics without having to use actual German, which I don't think was on purpose but it worked out very well

19:15 .. Croatia has so many excellent musicians, but most of them don't even think about going to DORA because of corruption, non transparency and nepotism.
It also happened when Mia Dimšić won. Marko Bošnjak should have won with the song Moli za nas, vocally, stunning live performance (yes, it needed a revamp but it had sooo much potential - not to even talk about his vocal capabilities vs Mia's), but she is the sweetheart of the HRT.
I suggest you to listen Marko's song Spokojan. He is an excellent author and vocalist.

To me pomalo ljuti 🤨

This is my favourite so far. I absolutely love the song and the aesthetic of the video. I have to be honest, live performance was a bit disappointment but nothing that can’t be fixed. Charisma and the sound is right. I think choreography was a bit unprofessional and clothes would be nice to be more traditional, to give a great contrast to the song itself. So excited to see what this evolves into!
