    AAAAAAAAAAH.
Sorry for the time it has taken. I would say 'as per usual', but honestly, last months have been pretty ROUGH.
Nevertheless though, I am releasing TWO videos today to celebrate. This one and a vox-log audiodrama thing.
If you haven't checked those out yet, please do, they've gotten pretty nice reviews from a few who listened to them.
Also, protip; this video becomes twice as funny when played at 2 times the speed.

Fun fact: If an imperial planetary government is overthrown, the Imperium at large won’t actually care so long as the new government still pays Imperial tithes and isn’t heretical (I.e. joining chaos, siding with xenos). So the revolutionaries might not actually have much of an issue if the Inquisition pays a visit.

Yes, they COULD have, but then what? The Planetary Government obviously doesn't contain a Justice System, which means there's no way to enforce a contract, so the person with the most Capital in the contract becomes the one who is allowed to walk all over it, and if it does have a Justice System it's probably filled with corruption and would side with the richest person anyway. So nothing outside of armed insurrection would have gotten them such progress

@@BrotherCarver This, exactly. As I said, contract law exists for the benefit of the monied classes. If you have more money, you have more power in all situations. And because the rich more often than not practice class solidarity - b/c it's in their vested interest to do so - anyone powerful enough (read: rich enough) to have the ability to act as an independent third party or regulatory body will side with the rich party in this dispute over the poor one. The rich rig the system in their favor, every time.

This reminds me of a Hitchhiker's Guide short story where a type of character was introduced... As a weapon. Zaphod was hired to investigate a crashed ship full of dangerous items, such as banned fuel systems and planet destroying weaponry. They pass numerous rooms where the items are contained and his handler drones just happily chirp how everything's contained. Then they reach a chamber that has a coffin with a man in it. Just a normal, perfectly pleasant man. The drones then explain that he's so perfectly pleasant that people will go out of their way to do anything he says... Even if what he says is utterly horrific. Then they find one of the coffins is broken open. The corporate drones freak out and immediately begin drumming up paperwork for the Hitchhiker's version of an Exterminatus on the planet while Zaphod quietly considers how atrocious the universe is to make niceness a weapon.
Clancy strikes me as this sort of perfectly pleasant monstrosity.

Reagan has nothing to do with Clancy, I just said he reminds me of the description of a nice guy who's so nice he convinces others to do horrific things.
It has absolutely nothing to do with centrists, centrism, and Clancy CERTAINLY isn't somebody "negotiating from a position of surrender." He is outright emotionally manipulating everybody around him, and it looks to be so powerful an effect as to be supernatural.
