  • CROSS: "I just killed a man... It was the most traumatic event of my life." On cross-examination, #TravisMcMichael admits his statement to police was inaccurate because he was stressed about the killing, not about going to jail for murder. Travis McMichael chased and killed 25-year-old #AhmaudArbery, who was jogging in the neighborhood. On direct, McMichael claimed it was self-defense.

The biased assumption was what led the two men to start chasing a black man under questionable circumstances. However, the state of mind when Travis pulled the trigger is key here. It MAY have been an auto reflex reaction, an instinctive self-defense response when someone turns to confront you and grab your gun. This doesn't get the Ms off the hook. But it creates obvious reasonable doubt regarding malice murder versus 2nd degree murder or manslaughter, or the equivalent thereof in Georgia. I fail to see how we can rule this possibility out. And in many other instances, people have protested, marched, and pled with authorities to charge people for killing Blacks. When Blacks kill or commit crimes, we are charged immediately and typically harsher sentences than whites. This was a rare case of justice being served. Majority of the time, people get away with killing Blacks.

It's not going to matter anyway, they will be aquitted.

Not proof at all lol.. if Rittenhouse had not taken the stand, especially in WI (where I practice), theres a decent chance the verdict today would've been different.

Remember... Officer Rash "deputized" them by telling complainants to call Daddy Grampa Greg. and giving out DG's phone number

Even if the police was called arbery still would've probably ended up being shot anyway because most police jump into situations with hostility and be ready to shoot before finding out facts

In the federal trial, Travis' argument was that he felt he had to confront and identify Arbery because he was trespassing. Well, the prosecutor in that trial showed the jury a picture of Travis standing next to a NO TRESPASSING sign smiling ear to ear.
Apparently, Travis thinks it's funny when he trespasses on someone's property but when a black person sets foot on a construction site which DOESN'T have any trespassing signs , somehow that warrants gunning them down in the street.
Having said that keep in mind that Travis didn't even know that Mr.Arbery was at the site. Neither did his father. Travis was sitting on the couch inside when his father ran in shouting that same black guy is running down the street. He stated he asked Arbury "Where are you running from?"

@larry883 it was not broadcast. But there's a plethora of articles online readily available for all to see. I took an interest in this case long before it made it to state trial and after.
The prosecutors' findings in the federal trial regarding their text messages, social media posts, and other Satilla shore residents testimonials trial really showcased just how racist the 3 men were .
Which is why they were found guilty in federal court as well and got additional life sentences.

Being Black in America carries a certain stigma. People look at the color of your skin and immediately assume the worst. Not every Black person is a criminal.

The prosecutor is a man eater. She chewed up all his bones. Vultures and other scavengers had no leftover
