I understand that you're probably busy doing something that pays the bills, but I do wish you uploaded more. :) You're one of my favorite reviewers. Using the same amp every time, set super clean so no coloring there. Figure out what the pedal is trying to do and play things that really show it off. Always a thumbs up!
Best demo cat out there, clarity, various axes, and you're loaded w soap, I've been a les Paul man for decades, and I'm now starting to really appreciate a tele, and watching you helps me immensely, more pedal demos, pleeeez
Dude you play amazing man and that pedal might be one of my favorite drive pedals ive ever hewrd the tone is spot on wow you know how you hear something and your like thats the tone ive been looking for yeah i got that in this video ijve been looking for a pedal just like this
There's so much musicality here I don't think DEMO is an appropriate title Shawn. You're both as inspirational and crushing as always! The Lowtide sounds brilliant btw.
That is a killer sounding pedal. Awesome demo, as usual. I think dialing in subtleties with your pinky toe is the key to musical nirvana. The scratchiness will just add another level of nuance unobtainable with normal overdrives. :)
Great demo.Killer playing, as per YOU! That Shirley is sweet. Nice to have a little different type pedal, might be a little too bass heavy for me as I mainly use a Paul with a Lovepedal germanium boost rolled back when I want clarity!
Taste, musicality and chops all wrapped up in one. Pretty dang awesome. Quick question, Shawn-are you coming out of the Friedman into a load box and then into an IR in ProTools? Or are you just mic'ing a cab? Thanks!
Thanks a lot, Justin! I always mic up a cab for product demos with very rare exception. I used a closed back Bogner 2x12 loaded with Eminence CV75 speakers. I mic'd it with a Shure WM57 and Royer 121R.
if the bass removes 500kh and below so would that make it detrimental to keeping the lows if you're using a bass guitar? In other words, if using this pedal with a bass, will the lows go away?
Hmmm....Don't know what to do with you man. Too good for your own good. I'm going to have to take some of that talent from ya...! Beautiful playing brother......!
Quite a unique pedal, has a great warm preamp tone. I think that Shawn and Pete Thorn had the same teacher... Ofc they have their own voices, but you can tell that these guys have a fair amount of training under their belts. Maybe I'm wrong and they learned like I did (no teacher, plucking out notes to my favourite songs) but somehow, I doubt it :) Wanna be as good a player as this? Start young, take some lessons, study, practice, and traverse a wide musical landscape.
Greetings to the Tubbs... cool review but... kindly increase the volume of Your speech, please... for all of us old semi-deaf rockers!... thanks... cheers and keep on rocking!!,
Pedal sounds pretty dope, tho his playing doesnt hurt that at all. ;) Looking at it thought, there is just about NOTHING that I can think of that would make this pedal look like a cheap POS walmart pedal, than those silly Knobs. Right? I mean, they rally look like they came off of a chinese made toy..not just any toy (cuz theyre all chinese) but a low budget baby toy. Jesus. think people. When I 1st saw this, I expected it to be a Joyo pedal or ..whomever.

Thanks so much for the kind words. The videos take a lot of time to accomplish and I really appreciate you taking the time to encourage.

God damn, Shawn... That intro piece was absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks so much! That means a lot!

Thanks so much! I appreciate it!
Masterful playing... that intro nearly brought tears to my eyes.
That is probably the best low gain tone I have ever heard in my life. Wow!!! And the playing is insane. Tubbs is the man
Thanks so much Chef Craig!
Great job! Love your playing and demos.
Thanks so much Stan!
LOVE the musical piece kicking off the vid. Gorgeous.
Thanks very much!
Man, what a great sounding pedal! And spectacular playing, as always. :)
Yeah, I think this kid is on to something! Thanks, Phil I appreciate it!

The Lowtide sounds brilliant btw.
Thanks Grant, glad you like it!
Thanks, Grant! Yeah, I think Dave might be on to something here!
Such great tone and playing.
Great playing and great composer As Always ! Merci Shawn
Thanks so much!
amazing tone this light overdrive!!
That tele is so beautiful. Love the neck/fretboard color.
Thanks, man. It's a good tele for sure. The neck is roasted maple so it gives it a darker tint.
Who else gets a warm drink, a blanket, sits in their favorite chair to listen to Shawn's intros? @Shawn--when do we get the solo record?
Amazing playing!
That is a killer sounding pedal. Awesome demo, as usual. I think dialing in subtleties with your pinky toe is the key to musical nirvana. The scratchiness will just add another level of nuance unobtainable with normal overdrives. :)
Hahaha!! I think you might be right man.
Such a beautifully played intro.. Don't know what it was, but I coulda listened to a lot more of that.
You're a helluva player. Great demo..
Thanks so much Tony. I always write an original song for each demo.
Shawn Tubbs
Then you're just as great a writer as a player..
And, you're very welcome. It was my pleasure. Thanks for the response...
Perfect job as always, thx a lot
fantastic tone..!!
Great demo.Killer playing, as per YOU! That Shirley is sweet. Nice to have a little different type pedal, might be a little too bass heavy for me as I mainly use a Paul with a Lovepedal germanium boost rolled back when I want clarity!
Right on man thanks!
Beautiful playing once more Shawn, really lovely! Question: how is the Lowtide compared to the Fairplay Barbershop or the Lightspeed? Thanks
Thanks so much for watching. I've honestly not had any experience with either of those pedals.
Taste, musicality and chops all wrapped up in one. Pretty dang awesome. Quick question, Shawn-are you coming out of the Friedman into a load box and then into an IR in ProTools? Or are you just mic'ing a cab? Thanks!

so is the boss metal zone or ds 1 transistor based?
Hello Shawn, i love your music a lot. Is it possible to use your music in a hone video?
if the bass removes 500kh and below so would that make it detrimental to keeping the lows if you're using a bass guitar? In other words, if using this pedal with a bass, will the lows go away?
Oh man, I envy your playing soo much!
Thanks, Henning, you're very kind.
wow that tone is insanely good... what were you using for the verb etc? If you said i may have missed it. Thanks
Thanks, Ben! I always just use the verbs and delays in my DAW. If I use verb it's Reverb One and the delays are the stock AVID delays.
cool, thank you
Shawn. as usual playing with the utmost in taste ..simply delicious as Mike L. would say.
Thanks so much! Mike would probably say...Yuck. ;)
Great vids Shawn , but could you please raise the talking volume of the video to match the playing level...but love your work....
Sounds great, Id just swap some smaller knobs on it
Hmmm....Don't know what to do with you man. Too good for your own good. I'm going to have to take some of that talent from ya...! Beautiful playing brother......!
Hey Tony! You're too kind man. Thank you.
Quite a unique pedal, has a great warm preamp tone.

Great pedal. More importantly, what do you use in your hair?
I woke up that way!
That's what I figured. Just making sure:) Killing stuff as usual
Haha.. Thanks man!
AWESOMEEEEE
Forgot to ask...which freidman are you runnin through
Dirty Shirley 40 watt.
0:18 bottom right.
would have liked to have heard the actual sound of the pedal a little more . .. but as always GREAT video
Thanks so much for tuning in!
Greetings to the Tubbs... cool review but... kindly increase the volume of Your speech, please... for all of us old semi-deaf rockers!... thanks... cheers and keep on rocking!!,
Awe man!! Sorry about that. I actually thought the dialogue track was too hot and backed it off... Thanks for letting me know!!
hey what speaker are you using brother?
Hey, Eric! I'm using Eminence CV 75 speakers.
Isn't it a 'transistor' based pedal?
Hey Brian, yes it is transistor based. Pair of 2n2222s to be exact :)
It sounds great, I was just worried that it was a "transister" based pedal. ;)
I always manage to spell something wrong. ;)
Me too! and I'm a teacher! ha! ;)
Pedal sounds pretty dope, tho his playing doesnt hurt that at all. ;) Looking at it thought, there is just about NOTHING that I can think of that would make this pedal look like a cheap POS walmart pedal, than those silly Knobs. I like the "really wild" setting!
