I'm a proud owner and I'll never sell it. The one thing you didn't really touch on was the work that went into pulling this game changing set together. Sean Clark had a huge hand in it and as a fan I'll be forever grateful.

I discoverer Shout Factory when they took over the Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD box sets from Rhino so I ended up on their mailing list early and remember when they announced Scream Factory.
I blew it off at the time because I hadn't graduated to blu-ray for the same reason you mentioned: no money for an HDTV but I ended up buying The Island because it was a DVD/blu-ray combo, then inherited my first HDTV from a family member shortly before my wife bought a blu-ray player to watch some Disney movie she bought on blu-ray by accident. I was pretty blown away at how much better it looked after years of thinking HD was all hype.
Now I have a better paying job, tons of debt and over 1000 blu-rays. Ha!

you're correct, there was a audio issue with 4 and Scream Factory knew and said on social media that if anyone wants a replacement BluRay to email them and one will be sent with the audio correction. I know cause I emailed and have the replacement. Great videos as always CHH, keeping my fingers crossed for a proper Nightmare on Elm Street boxset
The only thing disappointing is, the replacement they sent was the stand alone disc that was already out there, not the new box set disc art... so even with the audio issue, I keep it in the set.

Cliff McMillan working out all the rights issues and making deals with the studios, and Jeff Nelson speaking directly to the fans on FB & Twitter, and the two of them going on horror podcasts to talk about the releases with excitement, those were the golden days of Scream Factory. Now it seems to be another faceless company with so-so releases.
An amazing release and remember it coming out it just being simply amazing! The black out bluray cases, all the extras, producers cut, and it just being a complete boxset of every film at the time! Peak Screamfactory!!
You are 100% right. The announcement, preordering, and then waiting for that box set to arrive was one of the most exciting physical media moments I can remember. I was fucking STOKED! The black blu ray cases were such a nice touch. I wish they could have done that with the Friday the 13th set. And you are right about 4 or 5 having an audio issue. The dialog went out of sync for a minute or two. Thanks for bringing us back to that exciting moment in time!
I was lucky enough to get the Halloween Blu-ray collection for at least $100, which is cheap compared to how much it cost now.
I found mine at a used media store for 80 dollars in perfect condition back in 2017
I've since replaced the set with all the Scream Factory 4K releases housed inside a custom box (Blockbuster Boxsets on Etsy), but it broke my heart a little bit to get rid of this original Deluxe Complete Collection box-it was a thing of beauty and was the crown jewel in my physical media collection for a long while. The anticipation for this release back in 2014 (hard to believe it's been ten years) was something that I don't think has been matched since. What a thing of beauty. (As somebody who once purchased a bootleg copy of the H6 producer's cut on VHS from eBay, it's wild that fans now have that once-elusive edit on an official 4K release. What a time to be alive.)
I love these videos so much, man!!! I love whenever you tell stories about all of these movies, and how big a deal they were back in the day. Not that they aren't now, but back then I'm sure it was so crazy to get these movies on Blu-ray. I also am 23 and trying to figure my life out. I try and budget my movies every check, but there are a lot of times when I would love to buy certain editions of movies. Mostly 4k titles, but I'll settle for the Blu-ray just for money reasons. Love these videos, Christan. We all gotta start somewheres!!!

Even the slim ones are out of print now. I got lucky and bought one of the shout box sets like the one in this video for $140.
If you’re a little patient, you can find them in solid condition between $140-$200

I love mine. I almost want another one unopened I love it so much. I also have the Friday the 13th black tin collection with JGTH Jason on the cover. That Friday release was better than the recent botched Scream Factory Friday release and even came with 3D glasses.
It was awesome for Shout Factory to release the TV cut of Halloween 2 but unfortunately it has problems, the version they put out is apparently a remaster and unfortunately a pan scan approach was apparently used and as a result there is detail missing that the 80's TV cut master has and the movie is not centered correctly and a extra deleted scene is missing and unfortunately the version on the new BLURAY from Via Vision is taken from the same master!
Thankfully via vision is releasing a blu-ray that fixes all the problems scream/ shout keeps using to this day!

@@Thecatdrums3 Problem is the master Shout Factory has been using is in 4x3 and the old 80's master was also 4x3 except that version was handled way better in preserving as much of the picture as possible but the remaster clearly had less care go into it! The other thing is I don't know if they went back to the camera negative to do the remaster or not so getting a widescreen version would not be possible unless they either have raw scans of the camera negative of all the TV Cut scenes or if the camera negative still exists for all the cut footage!
Love this boxset but the lack of the theartical cut of both zombie films which are said to be better was a real shame because we cannot confirm that with just this set.
A set I had always wanted. At the time it came out though, I didn’t have the money to buy it, and most importantly, I wasn’t in the Blu-Ray game at that time, so even if I bought the set, it would be worthless without a blu-ray player. But thanks to the new 4K/Blu-Ray releases by Shout Factory, I don’t need this set. But overall, this is still a great set for anyone to have. For every Halloween film, at the time, to be in 1 big set, is really really cool.
Is it crazy that despite the fact that I have all of the SF 4K releases, the og SF Blu-ray releases of 2 and 3, and standard blu rays of all of the films that I'd still buy this if I ever found it out in the wild or for a good price online?
I owned maybe 3 or 4 of the stand alone movies from the set, the sam goody I bought them from sold them individually for some reason, I wasn’t aware that they were from a giant box set at the time. I wish I had it.
Like many others, I have this box set for Halloween (Scream Factory Blu Ray) , Friday the 13th (Scream Factory Blu Ray) and Nightmare on Elm Street (Warner Brothers Blu Ray 7 films). I've added the 4K Scream Factory Halloween releases since then. I'd be first in line for the 4K Nightmare on Elm Street set IF it ever happens. Good review of this classic release!
I wasn’t able to get it, but I did get the Friday the 13th tin with 3D part 3. But it’s ok, I got all the 4k disks and like that fall artwork and tons of features
I still have mine. It sits on my shelf right next to the Friday the 13th one. I still have my copy of Halloween 4 with the scenes of the audio out of sync. Yup, the Halloween set had problems upon release too.

I remember getting the Halloween: 25 Years Of Terror documentary at Suncoast and bringing it home. I read about it coming in Fangoria and the night I brought it home, I was loving it. I was telling my friends at work all about it the next day and it’s still one of my favorite documentaries. I’d love to see a big documentary about Halloween like the Crystal Lake Memories and Never Sleep Again ones though. That would be absolutely amazing!

Still amazed by this boxset i personally changed the shitty black eco cases for non eco clear ones to preserve the boxset in the best way possible
I don’t remember exactly when I got this set. It was a year or two after it was released. I got it on eBay for $107.
One thing to note is a lot of these 4K Blu Ray and standard Blu Ray releases have different masters or transfers and different bitrates. The Standalone Halloween 1978 Blu Ray is a different master from the Collector's Edition, and Halloween 6 has like 3 different Blu Ray editions and each one is a different transfer. As a big fan I would want to have them all.
Two things I remember was the 25 buck price glitch at Turner classic web store. And coming home from work and the box was waiting for me. And so excited to show my work friend it.
Also I remember there three versions of JC Halloween the Anchor Bay color timing version, 35th anniversary color timing, on the bonus disc John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN - The Extended Version
I remember getting the Extended Version on dvd at a comic shop back in 2002

i still enjoy the seeing everyone 15 box set i know its rare to get it though but i enjoy my 10 set though and have the seperate collection with halloween with the tv cut halloween 2 and 6 with the producer cut but im happy that i have the new box set of friday the 13th came out 2020 but hopefully one day it will be another box set out there near future to add to my collection but halloween always be my main to collect of the series

Great video! A true masterpiece of a box set. Still upset the uk has no unified Halloween box set. The rights are a mess, between the Akkads, Universal, and Miramax. Arrow could do it here, but are tight and more interested in cheapo Niko Mastorakis box sets no one wants.
This set came out a few years before I really got into physical media so it was sold out long before I knew about it. I got the 10 disc set I think in 2017, either that or Sleepaway camp was the first SF release I got.
We need a nightmare box set and ill be happy, also a box set of texas chainsaw even though there's only 3 of those i care about 😂
The audio in 4 started to go out of sync about an hour into the movie. Scream Factory sent another blu ray but, I believe, it was a copy of a previous release.
Bought this set in 2021 at a used book store. I had some store credit and got the set for 50 bucks. It was in like new condition and part 4 did have the replacement disc also. I am so glad to own this set. Still can’t believe we got it. Awesome video dude!

I remember being upset that we didn’t get the original audio mixes for a lot of the films as mono or stereo and complaining about it on a post. The replies were mostly about how I should be happy this even happened and that they would never get a better release. I’m glad I waited for the 4ks to get them but man was it a wait for those audio options I wanted 😅

Whether the Friday the 13th set had a problematic release or not I preordered it immediately and yes, I did get the replacement discs once they were offered. But it’s a beautiful set and just having the whole series on Blu-ray in one set was well worth the price tag.
I didn't have a problem with the copy of chapter 4 in my box set but I did with chapter 3. The special features menu had problems. I was friends with the manager at fye where my wife purchased it and they just swapped it out from a different box set.
When this released, my friend had a glitch on Amazon and only paid like $5 for it. Crazy.
I'm so mad that I missed out on this set I do own the 4K sets of the first five films but I'm not sure if its' worth it to get parts six through eight the only Rob Zombie one I like is the first remake never cared for Halloween two I don't know if this will ever show up someplace but if it does it will be mine

As cool as the box set looked, I had already purchased ScreamFactory's "Halloween II" and "Halloween III", as well as the Rob Zombie films, so to double and triple dip at the price point it sold for was a bit much. The Halloween franchise also has some of the weakest sequels of the big 3 franchises, which meant that $150 price tag was being spent for a handful of movies that I likely already had.
Thank goodness ScreamFactory gave us a tremendous boxset for the Friday the 13th franchise. That set stands heads and shoulders above all others.
I bought this box set last year in like new condition complete for around what the cost was when it came out. Even though I have all the Scream Factory 4k editions of them I wouldnt pass up on getting that set for the price it was a no brainer. Love this box set!!!
I wouldn’t consider Halloween 2 a cult tittle especially at that point. The way to watch Halloween was to watch the first and then immediately start the 2nd. They were usually watched together always, and the brother sister thing was apart of the know. 3 definitely was still a cult title then and arguably still is

I never did get this box set. I did get the stripped down version that they put out later. Just not willing to pay the high price that this one is selling at on the second hand market.
The first set I paid 2 years ago was $300 USD on eBay. Than 2 weeks ago, I got on on Facebook market for $105 USD and today I got my 3rd set for $35 USD. It was too hard of a pass even though I now have 3 - 15 disc sets lol.

I'd almost missed out on my opportunity to get that set as I started seeing it being sold out everywhere including from screen Factory's website themselves. A group I was in on Facebook led me to an Amazon post & I was able to get it for $89. My case for part 6 is alittle broke on the side top so when I contacted them replace just the case all they can tell me was either send it back or we can give you a credit. Naturally I took the credit because there was nothing wrong with the movies. So they gave me a 17% back on what I paid for. Still own this set & happy its in my collection. Also glad I didn't miss out

I love my 15 disc Halloween and my F13th set...two of my most prized blu-ray sets for sure. Don't know what the Elm St holdup is...but fortunately fans are making their own! 🙂
With the shit state of affairs at Warner Bros. right now - I wouldn't hold my breath on a new Elm Street set. It might never happen at this rate. The old New Line snapper DVD set is the one to get for the pure celebratory presentation of it. Original one-sheet artwork on each cover - the Bonus DVD. It's also the only way to get Freddy's Dead in 3D. That set really paved the way for sets like the Halloween and Friday the 13th sets. Then get the BD set for the transfers.
And there are owners STILL looking to pay off their student loans with the right bite. Like no thanks , you can keep your kicked around box

Back when Scheme Factory released shit people wanted. We both ended up getting the set completely for free...and made a video on it LOL. The original Halloween had two Blu-Rays prior to this set, Anchor Bay was releasing them in like 2008 oddly enough plus they did Halloween 4 and 5. I think pretty much all of the Halloween films at the time were released individually. Starting around 2010 Arrow in the UK (which at the time they were region 0 so they worked everywhere) was releasing a plethora of cult titles on Blu-Ray.
