Regarding the bayonets being sharp or dull, the one I was issued in 2017 was dull, tho it looked like someone dulled it after it was sharpened. When someone (might‘ve even be me) asked why they‘re dull we were told that it‘s supposed to be that way. And to absolutely not sharpen them. The only times we trained with them was to fix them once on our rifles (as it was a mandatory "shooting" program) and when we might‘ve had some stuck casing in the ejection port. We were told not to stick our fingers in the rifle in case we hit the bolt hold open. Nice bayonet, tho I‘ll have to return mine once I‘ll leave the reserve in 2029 (12 years after bootcamp). I‘ll look to get one from the commercial market but I might need a permit as our bayonets are considered weapons (funnily enough, an american M9 doesn‘t count as a weapon, just asked the fess today since I want to expand my knife collection beyond Victorinox knifes)
I saw the thumbnail and had to see what kind of bayonet that was. It looks like it would be a fantastic field knife as well as a bayonet. It looks a lot better than the M9 I had.
I've been hunting for one of these for ages and they're not only hard to find but they go for prices that's, since most are found on different auction sites, far beyond reasonable‼️‼️😱 I've never handled one of these irl but I believe they'll make a pretty decent survival knife👍👍 specifically with that bayonet ring for if you'd like to mount it on a pole or something to make a speer. Then there's the little issue with most of them comes blunt as a butter knife so first one has to put an edge on it and all that and everything.. So my conclusion is: totall waste of money compared to a Glock knife‼️‼️ but FUCK do I want one ‼️‼️🙏🙏😂😂
I have one of these. Very nice. Interesting that one face is flat. It's an odd asymmetry & i'm not sure why they did it. Another great vid mate 👍🏻🏴
LOL - Gucci bayonets. Normal Italian inflation of their craftsmanship. I do want a M1990 because I think they are super well made, but they are SO expensive. Like you, I await their arrival on the surplus market.
I went down thr rabbit hole looking at those Italian bayonets. I don't think I could justify $1000 for a brand new commercial bayonet that will depreciate in value
I have the Wenger and Victorinox versions.

What is the length of the blade and the thickness?
It has a blade length of 181mm and it's about 3.5mm thick
@@pointynotsharp8436 No wonder it is so light.
